    Hey Clammi. As a guy who repairs these jacks on a regular basis just wanted to.mention to you that the reason your jack slips in the bracket is because you spread the ears on the bracket where it clamps to the camper. Hijacker, for whatever reason, designed these clamps so that both ears fit on the same side of the camper bracket. Your solution worked, but was a lot more work than needed. Also, you glossed over the seals.being used but no worries we can supply the correct seals for all of you. You should really clean the cartridge better before reinstall. Those tiny holes you referred to can get clogged up pretty easily. Hydraulics need to be spotlessly clean.

      Thank you for watching and the information. That is how it was when we got the camper to rebuild it. A lot of work went into the rebuild and a lot of learning to go long with it. Always more room to learn new things. Thank you

      Hello, I rebuilt my jacks and don't like the results... One thing I noticed is, that since changing the o-rings, the "cartridge" spins around when I close the bleeder valve. Is that an issue? I see the same thing happening in this video. The other thing I wonder about is how many times do I need to prime the jack? I assumed that one pull up and down should do it, but seeing in this video, they did it three times and the jack still isn't going up as well (quick/solid) as I'd like to see. I'd be very grateful for your insight!

    This is great to know. Right now we are tent campers but intend to buy a bumper pull for our first real camper

    Hi all,anybody knows hiw ti replace gaskets in main rod??
    Doesn't get out,seems to me were welded ( should i go ,cut,change,gaskets 20,21,21 than welded back??) Is this only option ..No.
    I found another way,need special wrench to take nut out on the bottom,nust be 6 or longer than u can replace gaskets without cutting,welding in thee top😮

    It's a good video for rebuilding the PUMP ONLY section of these jacks, I've had many of these jacks on my campers over the years and currently have 12 leaking ones between my camper and my daughter's 2 campers. Although there is usually some wetness and seepage at the pump area, these jacks are most notorious for the main cylinder leaking fluid out the bottom of the main tube. Sorry to be a downer guys but this is not helpful for the most common issue these jacks exhibit. I'll just keep looking for some info on how to repair the main cylinder leaks.

      Did you find out, I'm looking forward,looks like cut welding joint,replace gaskets,20,21,21( by diogramm)
      Than weld back???? I can do it if I give up for searching.Thank you, waiting for your comments

      Thanks for watching. You want to use a good anti-wear hydraulic jack oil. You can get at almost any auto parts store

    Hey, great vid! I was just troubleshooting an issue with a jack and wondered if you could help. It pumps fine but as soon as the leg hits the ground and the weight of the camper is on the jack, it doesn't want to lift, the plunger sort of bounces and doesn't lift. Wondering if you had any idea what the issue would be, oil low?

    Hi thanks for the video.. i have a question.. i have a hijacker too, but its quite short cuz my truck is lifted.. can i drill a hole in the bottom middle of the jack pipe and add 1 feet steel pipe to increase height? Or would it leak oil if i drill? Tnx

    • @joshburr4158

      use exhaust piping and 2 plates welded together bolt it to the bottom of the jack foot for desired length.

    Did you have an o-ring kit from the Hijacker company to do this?

    • @clammi
      @clammi  3 года назад +1

      No. It was just a o-ring kit that was found on Amazon. It was not for jacks. It was just a lot of different o-rings in it.
