I agree. There are many songs from the 80s that once you hear it, it brings you back to the time that song was a hit and the emotions you felt on a particular day. Be it sad, happy etc. Hearing many 80s songs brings me back to my teenage years in Africa. Some songs are of sad memories some of happy memories.

Katrina and the waves when I was 12 years old. I wrote a song on a notebook, and I wrote a song in pencil. Freak wind pick up my song I told the Lord it he wants it to be a number 1 hit he needed to find the right person will keep it the way I wrote the song. I wrote the song when I found out that my step dad really loved me. I live in Michigan thank you for using the name Katrina and the waves and didn't change the way I wrote the song.

"Love shine a light" was written to honour the 30th anniversary of the Swindon branch of The Samaritans - the world's first suicide-prevention helpline, established in the UK by Rev. I love the irony of the video showing a foggy overcast London while she's singing about walking on sunshine. Their point is sunshine is just a state of mine. It could be raining and gloomy but if you're happy inside you're walking on sunshine.

Actually, the act had broken up by 2005. Katrina Leskanich still performs solo as part of several 80's package tours. The group's last hurrah was the Eurovision-winning "Love Shine a Light" in 1997.

What a joyful song. So much energy. So much great music and creative artists from the 80's era. The best era of music was the 60's-80's. Without a doubt. Nothing today even comes close. This song always reminded me of my dogs when they would go outside to play. They were always so excited and running around with their tongues hanging out of their mouths. My oldest dog Zoe passed away today peacefully with us at home...I had to listen to this song to remind me that she's now, "Walking on Sunshine, " with the rest of her brothers and sisters.
