- Hey everyone Rho here! Today we continue our week dedicated to the Imperial Fists, with the return of the Sons of Dorn to the Throneworld Terra...
Spoiler Warning to Begin as the events we're discussing today are from the Warhammer 40,000 story "Throneworld" by author Guy Hayley. As always I really recommend you read the stories for yourself first without Spoilers! As that's the best way to enjoy the lore for yourself.

Guilliman, “I’m going to break up the legions”
Dorn on his way to the Iron Cage, “Not if I do it first”
As a Son of Dorn myself... I will say without shame when I first heard "The Iron Knights answer the call" it brought a tear to my eye. Was incredible writing.
This is the first time I’ve heard of them what are they
@@Hotshot770 they are an Imperial Fist successor. Not sure if it is confirmed what founding. But somewhere after first but before the War of the Beast. Not written about a lot, but they did have a small portion turn chaos at some point.
Ok
Preach battle brother
To be fair to the High Admiral, his data slate got stuck in portrait mode, even when he tried to turn it sideways for landscape mode. I mean you all try answering a call when your iPad flips the wrong way.
Your last video gave me goosebumps. Absolutely loving Imperial Fists week!
This was the greatest protocol ever thrown into the lore. As a huge fan of Dorn, it was great to see the possibility of a legion returning.
As to your comment about should legions have remained - would’ve been an interesting approach to keep legion strength for as long as the Primarch remained. No one else could truly command such a vast array of marines.
Though the Fists, as praetorians of Terra, should’ve remained legion sized for protection. Even if one half was fully reserved to Terra’s defense and the other portion set out to defend humanity
Ahhh yes the last vid left me at the edge. good thing I didn't sleep early or I would have missed this
I just finished the last video on my drive home was desperately needed a continuation. Got home and found out Rho released a new one four hours ago. Happy times!
the mentioning of the 100,000 made me realise that each legion should have at least 70 successors with 230 for the Ultramarines.
If only the Legions weren't decimated during (and after for the Imperial Fists) the Heresy.
I have a last wall army. Made it years ago. I love this lore!
Koorland was a great character and thane is also great. His handling of the ecclesiarch was awesome lol
In the newer novels I feel part of Guilliman regrets some of the codex. Look at his handling of the unnumbered sons. It worked but pushed chapters of the same lineage too far apart. I don't think he intended that. Just autonimas chapter masters not being too powerful.
''The codex has regulated our battle order, our formations and the tactical way in how we fight as Astartes, The Black Templars notwithstanding, however.. what it has not done is change the blood in our veins. Our blood is Dorns, We are standing on sacred Terra, the blood of this planet and the walls that shield Him upon the Throne are walls that our Sire helped built, some of its oldest stone yet stands because those who came before us gave their lives in its defence when all of Dorns sons wore the yellow of the 7th. We are here not to enrich our own honour, but to safeguard the glory of battlebrothers and heroes of every chapter to whom the Preatorian of Terra is progenitor, liege and master. Rogal Dorn fought with all he had so Terra would not fall. We will continue that legacy. We will repulse these vile creatures if needed, with our dying breath. Today the difference in the shade of our armour is annulled. We shall stand as the Astartes of old untill the safety and sanctity of Terra is restored. Today, we shall live and die as brothers''
*The words of Koorland, inscribed on the 1st deployment bay on the Phalanx when asked why the Imperial fists would return to Terra*
According to the "stable" lore we have now, there were approximately a million non primaris Space Marines in the galaxy. If we measure Legion strength to be 100,000 Marines, it means there were the equivalent of 10 Legions in the galaxy. Even if 75+% of those are Ultramarines geneseed Marines. If the Space Marines as a whole decided to reform the Legions, there is basically f all the High Lords could do to stop them.
So cool. I'm glad I clicked
>wants the mutants to rule over humanity
The inquisition would like to know your location.
Even at full strength 100,000 space marines vs an entire galaxy is a tiny drop in an endless bucket. Five thousand is basically nothing in the grand scale of the galaxy. Even on any major fight they are a handful of fleet losses from extinction.
The way legions operated was insane, you shouldn't discount them. Abaddon with half the might of a legion is able to contend with the imperium, and they sure devote a lot of resources for him specifically. Legions could churn out marines like crazy, damn the cost, chapters don't operate like that.
If anything says Dorn is dead it’s the absence of Dorn after The Last Wall order has been given.
Absolutely love the Imperial Fists. Fuck the “Legion Breaker” and his codex.
The Legions also had access to superior technology.
16:15. Yeahhhh
And one more thing. For the Blood!
Dorn and the imperial fists are my favorite and I think most powerful of all primarchs and legions. Also mabey break some legions like ultramarines, raven guard, white scars, blood angles and mabey salamanders if they rebuild numbers and keep the angels, fists, wolves and iron hands as full legions. Or just combine all 9 legions into a mega army to fuck shit up and rebuild the shattered bloodlines.
I’m wondering what the custodies we’re doing during this
Need a reformed imperial fist chapter
Any chance you will do a video on the soul drinkers 🙏
I thought the Soul Drinkers were not part of the blood line of Dorn?
But nobody, including the Soul Drinkers, knew that during the War of the Beast.
I must not make a last wall army… I must not make a last wall army…. I must not make a last wall army…
The chapters got stronger after the chapters were gone.
would the legions ever bee brought back? it would make gw a lo of money.
I speak has my heart dictates
The only legions or only chapters argument is possibly one of the stupidest things in all of 40k. Why the emperor or primarchs weren’t smart enough to see that I don’t know. The legions need to still exist with individual chapters acting as task forces stationed apart from eachother to respond to threats more quickly and effectively. Give each chapter 5000 marines and the command group of the legion 10-15 thousand. The legion can respond to large threats summoning the chapters in a last wall kind of setup. Makes way more sense.
Maybe, but you forget why the legions were broken up into chapters in the first place. The legions cannot be reformed, even as you say. The risk would be too great.
Unless it’s the First. The Dark Angels and Unforgiven operates as close to a Legion without being a legion in name.
*Imperial Fist Gene-seed Stockpile... Where are you?*
Also, Primaris Imperial Fist?
The Beast arises series was decent for Imperial fists successors, but i found it made the Imperial Fists themselves sound ridiculous. Not only did they get wiped out immediately, but they all had cringey call of duty gamertag names. "I am xXSlaughter42069Xx"
So, were there only enough Astartes left to make a few chapters after the heresy? If the legions were 100k+ in number, it should've made at least 100 chapters. Which means at least 100 chapters should've shown up to the last wall.
Dorns legion was shattered after the cage. Smurf’s had to save the survivors.
The Heresy, the Siege, and the Iron Cage all whittled the Fists down.
The Fists were decimated during the Siege of Terra and at the Iron Cage, the Dark Angels at Caliban, the Blood Angels during the Siege and after the Black Rage was unleashed, the Ultramarines during the Siege of Ultramar, the Iron Hands, Salamanders, and Ravenguard at Istvaan V, the White Scars to their own betrayal, and the Space Wolves during the burning of Prospero. Many of the Loyalist Legions were at the verge of total extinction even before the Heresy had ended, and the new Codex Astartes prevented a renewal of the old strength of the Legio Astartes, which is why there are so few Astartes in 40K vs 30K.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
It wasn't the fists with their Primarch gone they all died out and Alpha legion took their armour and weapons and returned to r Terra.
Cawl has hidden the truth.
I am Alpharius.
The war of the beast saga was trash, I thought it was retconed out?
