I feel like their albums are like my children. They are all different, but similar enough that you can tell they are related. And I love them all for different reasons. Please never stop making children. Er. Albums.

Check out Explosions in the Sky's earlier stuff too. :) Their new stuff is different and more outside of the box compared to their older music (and it's even greater because of that), but songs like "The Only Moment We Were Alone" and "Memorial" are still some of my favorites from them. Birth and Death of the Day is really good too.

I usually fall into the camp of people who say that its the notes that make the emotion, not the sounds, but with this song I have to make the exception. Something about the way those guitar chords are played, something about the light distortion and their shimmering quality all just contribute to this emotion I havent felt from a human voice before.

Parveen, you are missing so much. Explosions in the Sky were the first I found in this category, and I thoroughly enjoy everything that they do. Outside of that, try This Will Destroy You, God is an Astronaut, If These Trees Could Talk, and there are so many more.

      Balmorrhea
      Nevermind the name
      Sigur Ros
      Industries of the blind
      Oh Hiroshima
      Those who ride with giants
      Paint the sky red
      Jakob
      Hammock
      We lost the sea
... And many more are there.
But these are the artists that take you to a imagination beyond imagination.

You can keep listening that. This wasn't my favorite album, but I can't blame them for trying to moving forward, een if I don't agree with that direction. Must be hard doing but the same on a saturated style.

    • @obellbamham6606
      @obellbamham6606 7 лет назад +24

The band has experienced different events over the time of creating each album that these events has lead to influencing each album. When I listen to How Strange, Innocence all the way to The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place, I hear the sounds of Austin, Texas. The band kept the sound pretty much the same even doing the Friday Night Lights soundtrack and even The Rescue. But you can listen to All of a Sudden I Miss Everybody, Take Care, and The Wilderness and you can hear how the sound go from that local Texas feeling and go into this worldwide awe inducing sound. Which is a shame you would take the time to comment disregarding their music today and be stuck in the past. I love Snow and Lights, I love The Moon is Down, I love Memorial, but I also love Castastrophe and the Cure, I love Let Me Back In, I love Colors in Space. I am a fan of the band, they could do no wrong regardless of the influence on each album. You should feel bad if you consider yourself a fan.

This will seem so random, but I'm working on a music appreciation-type assignment for my class where they react emotionally to instrumental bands - and I started with Glosoli since the lyrics will sound like gibberish to them (Canadians) and Jonsi's voice is an instrument.... and then I was like, gotta then go with Explosions in the Sky who give me all the feels, and there's your comment connecting the two.

ok 0:15 and i'm thinking this is a subversion on #sauna from #mounteerie or perhaps something just prior, its all only melodic hardcore because well which word could you utilize describing just how melodic this is, and if you have children buy this album and turn it into #kidzbop and #babyeinstein and tell a story from and for both yours and their imagination
