Cecily Strong cracked me up so hard when she played Jeanine Pirro and Kari Lake on SNL. I love her!
As a proud resident of Coquitlam, I guarantee that it really exists and that it really is produced with a Hard-C. And yes, the bears are almost always a consideration: multiple times our kids were locked down in school due to a bear being on the schoolyard.
Vancouver resident here - as soon as I saw the photo, I knew it was Coquitlam, lol. Bearland, BC!

Cecily proved once again how brilliant she is. I love her and her absolutely flawless grammar. I'm crazy, but to some folks, that's important. She keeps me watching SNL for her drop dead impersonations.

Heh. Never noticed Cecily's strong suit in grammar, but as a fellow grammarphile, I'll keep an ear out in the future. As for her racial background, reportedly she's a pretty typical English-dominant Euro-mutt, like most white Americans. The bit that looks Latina is probably from the Italian / Sicilian part of her family tree.
I have so much love for Cecily Strong. Her impressions just fly off the screen. So good.

On top of her comedic talent, she has a Broadway-worthy singing voice. I've said the minute she leaves SNL that's where she will go, but she went right to the big screen.
Also, she's performed on stage for years with some of the best talents SNL has ever had. For the last 5 or 6 years, the talent on the show has been outstanding.
She starred in a one-woman play (non-singing) in "The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe" the past year.

A favorite SNL holiday singing skit: The Dundee Sisters [Host: Amy Adams]. Their night club act about Santa "...as he zoops down the fire tube". Perhap's Cecily's wildlife interests influenced the writing on this one.

Well, it's not true about her never breaking character, but she has been consistently fantastic and is among the SNL elite.
She absolutely nailed Kari Lake.

I live in Pitt Meadows which is a stone’s throw away & knowing she was recently in Coquitlam gets me giddy.
We're from Coquitlam and yes we do have bears and lots of hungry raccoons. Also, coyotes that love a cute Pomeranians and even bobcats hanging off fence posts. Her comments made our day.
That raccon's catchphrase would 1000% be "Workin' hard? Or hardly workin'? Can I get a ride to 7-11?"

Cecily Strong is one of the most consistently funny SNL cast - especially great at knowing when to hold back, slow build & go OVER THE TOP with her characters! She has poise & a classic sense of style. She is a constant haunting reminder of how hot Sigourney Weaver was & still is. :)

Canadian living in interior BC here 🤚Lake diving is definitely a thing! We have massive lakes here and many folks enjoy lake diving to visit sunken ships, bridges, trains and other various wreckage. Not to mention. The terrifyingly large sturgeon

Seeing these two together just makes me realize that "Learn a book Seth!" had been part of my brain for a decade or so.
I loved her role in Ghostbusters (2016). She was sort of a polite a-hole. I hope we see a lot more of her in SNL.
