I have just purchased one of these very happy with it so far. The only thing is their filters are so darn expensive it’s crazy compared to the ones in my house furnace.
I hung mine up so it would blow the air back toward the workshop portion of my basement. Seemed like it would spread less sawdust that way. No idea if that's most efficient though.
The blower should face the cleanest part of your shop. Fan shout be installed overhead where you do the most cutting and sanding. Dust gets trapped in the filters and clean air exits the exhaust.
I bought a Performax from Menards about 10 yrs ago. It is the exact same. It still works great. I love it. It looks as though the motor might be slightly different. The RPM is rated at 1700, vs 1750. I bought it because it had similar specs to the Jet.
I have this. It turns on randomly. From what I read it is the RF from other peoples garage door openers. So I am always having to turn it off. Do you have these issues as well?
Somebody dumped three of these along with a fish aquarium and some other junk on my road today. I plugged all 3 in and all three work great. They are in really great shape. Just don't have the remotes.
Mine quit working but it was a slow death. Sometimes I'd go to the shop and it would be running all by itself. I contacted wen and they told me that signals in the neighborhood are allowed to intwrfere with the remote. Wtf. At first it only worked intermittently and then the remote stopped working all together. The button on the unit does not power it on anymore. If you live in the cities, don't buy a wen. Wens solution was to unplug it and only plug it in when I need to use it. So I'd have to climb a ladder into the rafters to plug it in everytime. No thanks. Shop around for better products. Only had it a year or so.
Sorry to hear about yours dying. I've had mine three years with no problems - it is in my basement rather than in a garage though, so less susceptible to RF interference from outside sources. Maybe one of your neighbors has a garage door opener that shares the same frequency or maybe even another WEN air filter.
Don't buy it , I used it in a 300 square foot area for to days and I don't do much at all , filters clogged and ,,,,, well ,,, it sucks ,, not worth the money!!!

do you have any suggestions on which way to point the fan and where to hang it in relation to your shop? Thanks!

I think there are quite a few different brands that all come out of the same factory. I've had mine about six months and love it!
Nice review! That’s the first I’ve seen that trick for installing hooks and will definitely be using that in the future.
It definitely saves a lot of time! You just need an extra screw hook available, or you'll have to do the last one by hand. 😄

What, that's crazy! I've never had it do that ever. Mine's in my basement though, so there's less of a chance the signal could get down there maybe?
I have the same issue. Wens solution was climb a ladder up into the rafters and plug it it everytime I want to use it. Dumb.
Very nice review… if not installing on ceiling… can it be placed on a shelf?
Yes, just make sure it is unobstructed in the front and back for air circulation.
@@DoresoomReviews thanks much! Picking one up soon! I truly appreciate it!

Great find. Try looking online. I'm sure someone is selling remotes

It sounds like it was doing its job if the filters were full of dust...
If the filters are clogged.... that means it works.
