40 years ago, not even 20 years old - Tom Cruise is the lead in a Hollywood movie with top billing and with the intensity of a veteran actor. The guy hasn't changed in appearance or his intense acting. Gotta give him the respect for that!
1983 was Tom Cruise's year .... he started off with "The Outsiders", then the flop hit "Losin' it" and the blockbuster film "Risky Business" and the underrated movie "All the Right Moves" ... no wonder everybody wanted him in the 80's.
I remember my heart (and teen hormones) going pitter-patter seeing him on screen this first time at the Rialto Theatre in Grand Rapids, MN. Wow. And what a movie! We were in awe of this NEW actor. Dreamy... He still is.
Interestingly enough, here Tom portrays Stefan Djordjevic, a serbian immigrant. And here Tom DOES look like handsome serb (black hair), except for the fact that serbs are usually tall.
I was a senior playing high school football in west Texas at the time this came out. Man could I relate! Great flick. Coach should've taken a safety!!!!
Plus I was in Johnstown, trying to get out of there was hard. Still stuck trying to get into college for film so one day I can work on movies like these
As a young football player living Johnstown this movie hits hard. I'm studying to be an engineer too. My GF is the high school band too. My friend later grows up to be in Reservoir Dogs too.
Me acuerdo con mucho cariño de esa película. Yo estaba en mi primer año de universidad. No pertenecía al equipo de football, pero si estaba en el equipo de Karate de mi universidad y me identifiqué con el protagonista. Grande Tom.
0:26- (As the coach) Now get out there and shake the BBQ chips from the vending machine! 0:38- Oh yeah, I believe that's his name, like I believe Richard Gere play a guy named Eduardo in The Honorary Consul. 1:05- Also, yes, he IS too good for you. He's Tom Cruise. He's better than all of us! 1:37- Um...okay, what a punishment. "No! Anything but that!" "You'll also be using the girls' shower for now on, son!" That is classic Coach Hayden punishment.

0:38 Looks like The Cinema Snob doesn't know that there are white Latinos. Or is he saying that Richard Gere is too white to play a Latino and Tom Cruise is too white to play a Serbian?
Not true, there were many high school players his size that went on to college and played there! Tom played high school for Glen Ridge hs NJ as a linebacker. Was cut his senior year for drinking beer before a game.
Not much call for a 5 ft 10 in who what? Isn't Cruise more like 4 ft 10 in? LOL. Yeah. I'm watching on HBO haven't seen in years. Jeeesh what happened! Chris Penn was such a cute kid back then look what happened to him. But sadly that's just life, everywhere I guess. Pretty much all my 80s runnin buds are gone now.
those engineering skills you could only learn in college to engineer classics like the chevy cavalier......to think we bailed that company out.....hehe
I had the honor of playing "Alexander 41"! Good Ole Johnstown, Pa.
So underrated. Great movie. The portrayal of the dying steel town and its people is truly convincing. And haunting.
It is haunting. Makes you feel like you're in high school again, and live in Johnstown, PA. So gritty and real. Such an under-rated film.
I still didn't watched the movie but i really think its underrated. Especially because of the actor who's playing in it.
@@D.Ra.G this only got like 6.3 on imdb, tom cruise weren't that great either
Lea was only known for her "back to the future"
What an jerk
Well yeah, it’s an exact representation of the city 😂

skywalkerpotter21 All that happened in 83, huh? Well All The Right Moves is my all-time favorite Cruise movie :) Then Far & Away.
yep, you can search it on IMDB, 4 movies in 1983..... and my favorite is "Top Gun"
You Forgot Taps(1981)
yes, it was a great year.
Losin’ It came out in ‘82, I believe.
TBT Trailer: In 1983, Tom Cruise showed the world he had ALL THE RIGHT MOVES to be a star.
Wooooow, you got the whole squad laughing 20th century Fox ©.
Indeed. He became one of the biggest movie stars in his generation. I love him.
I remember my heart (and teen hormones) going pitter-patter seeing him on screen this first time at the Rialto Theatre in Grand Rapids, MN. Wow. And what a movie! We were in awe of this NEW actor. Dreamy... He still is.
Tom was so gorgeous back then. He still handsome, but look at him in this movie. Flawless.
Yess😍😍😍😘
Interestingly enough, here Tom portrays Stefan Djordjevic, a serbian immigrant.
And here Tom DOES look like handsome serb (black hair), except for the fact that serbs are usually tall.
Tom Cruise could have played a good Peter Parker/Spider-Man in those years
Agreed 👍😊😍😍
Exactly what I was thinking
Yeah I agree but can you imagine the effects? it would look like a 60's batman movie lol
Apparently he was one of the casting choices in the unproduced James Cameron film version
I was a senior playing high school football in west Texas at the time this came out. Man could I relate! Great flick.
Coach should've taken a safety!!!!
With 12 seconds left I couldn't believe it & coach wasn't thinking right but it's just a movie
Tom Cruise playing as Serb. Great movie
Yes hilarious.
I remember my big sister taking me to see this in the theater. OMGsh...Great movie. Completely underrated.
Craig T. Nelson does make a great Football Coach just ask Hayden Fox and Luther Van Dam.
I found a very rare director's cut version of All The Right Movies. In this one Nickerson takes the safety and punts it out of there!
Plus I was in Johnstown, trying to get out of there was hard. Still stuck trying to get into college for film so one day I can work on movies like these
I was in high school watching this. An iconic legendary actor was shuffling around a dirty old steel town with Chris Penn and Coach!
As a young football player living Johnstown this movie hits hard.
I'm studying to be an engineer too. My GF is the high school band too.
My friend later grows up to be in Reservoir Dogs too.
EXTROADINARY!TOM CRUISE ROCKS!!!!
This movie would be in my bluray collection.
Leon is in this one, too. I think this is his first movie.
Thats why i watched the trailer
I love this film, I relate to it so much .
One of My Favorite all time movies.
I Want To See This Movie So Much Since I Love Tom Cruise!
3 movies in one year.
Cruise's stardom on the rise.
This 3rd film and it's story proved he was definitely here to stay.
#40yearsago💎🎞
Gracious how this film was so well produced, and so expendable to insure to standards. Explained in the most comfortable post ever. 0:08
There is no such short Serb.
True.
Great times!
Look at the hunks back then, it's Gary Graham (Greg) and Paul Carafotes (Salvucci)!
Yes no blacks
Was one of the only two cruise movies I ever liked! This one and the Rebecca DeMornay movie!
Risky Business.
Tom is REAL SERBIAN IN THIS MOVIE ,JUST LIKE JOKIĆ JUST LIKE DJOKOVIĆ , AGAINST ALL ODDS
0:26- (As the coach) Now get out there and shake the BBQ chips from the vending machine!

I live where the movie was filmed
This made in Johnstown Pennsylvania
If you're telling the truth than you're so lucky😍😍
Flood city represent!
Greetings from Johnstown Pennsylvania
Literally just realized this movie was made in my hometown
Fireproof it’s a emergency movie from 20th century Columbia.
Great underrated Football movie.
Why is this not available on any streaming service? It was such a great movie.
Sorry, because streaming is crap, this is why physical media is the way to go.
It's on Hulu now
Hulu

Is he also doing the voiceover for the trailer? Sounds like him.
Surprised Tom rubgy game play 😱😱😱😱😱😱
Holy crap I think Ive never seen this one😮
tom cruise and Craig T Nelson? the movie everyone forgets. Craig T later became a real COACH amazing show! Tom Cruise later on flies JETS
Great movie…there were a lot of good ones in the 80’s…they don’t make them like that anymore.
When I saw this film the first time, I thought, "Why haven't I heard of it before???" Of course, Lea Thompson stole the show in my book ...
Tom's never let anyone humiliate him since... egomaniac
and this is how marty macfly was born !!
Tom Cruise. Still no oscar?
Such a crime...
Magnolia was his best chance.
33 and 66 everywhere. Symbolism is everywhere
Tom cruise had more moves that exlax
People, you have the WRONG ASPECT RATIO for this trailer, and of all companies, you should know better!!
Alguem sabe o nome da atriz que aparece na classe de aula? Steeve atira papel nela pra ela olhar pra traz. alguem sabe? (Tranlate please)
Tim Riggins and Tom Cruise both wore the number 33; however, Tim Riggins was a running back
This movie ended twenty minutes earlier than it should have and doing so missed to be a great football film
Bet you won’t find this movie on Disney +!!!!
Because it’s rated R.
Not with full frontal nudity you wont!
I can relate, I want to go to college unfortunately I don't have any talents to help me get into college like in the movie
You can get in and graduate. Athletics are overrated. Keep grinding. Good luck man. God bless!
anyone else here from Stranger Things S1 Ep5 26:23
All us boys around 11 to 18 thought this was as cool as it gets. Real Americana hero stuff where the kid is more than those dumb adults think. Haha.
This is loosely based on our coach Rauls from GGHS, except our coaches wouldnt even talk about preparing for the next level 😔 😠

Challenge rubegy game 🤪😵🤪😵🤪😵😵
Is this based off Rudy's story
So, Disney thinks "20th Century" should stay in the name in 2020, but strips founder William Fox's name from preexisting material to rebrand it.
If Tom Cruise and Lea Thompson got married, they would have GODS as their children.
Great genes!
Mil# rudy-2😂

Yeah that was so stupid called a running play was just seconds to go why didn't they just take a safety game over
What is so great about watching trailers instead of the whole movie? Boring.
Unrealistic casting. A little fella like Tom Cruise would not be a football star.
He's to little
Plus, he is Serbian. No Serb is that short.
Not true, there were many high school players his size that went on to college and played there! Tom played high school for Glen Ridge hs NJ as a linebacker. Was cut his senior year for drinking beer before a game.

Nothing beats seeing Ethan Hunt and Mr. Incredible in a film together
