Actually, Heatsoul does have one more thing in common with the original Decode Talker - it gains 500 ATK for every monster in a zone that it points to. The card itself is supposed to be a blending of Decode and Salamangreat Heatleo, the ace monsters of the two main characters of VRains, since both were Link-3's that had 2300 ATK and had the same link arrows. Although the last effect is pretty much a blending of Playmaker and Soulburner's skills in the anime.
Here's a small note for the Trooper game: Yes he could have Linked off the Gadget to make a Splash Mage, yes he could have fired off the Desires to try and find an extender, but you wanna know why he didn't? He thought that Linguriboh could negate Counter Traps, malded immediately after he didn't see that was "the move" and left out of shame. We then proceeded to tell him how Counter Traps work and that is the only reason this game is in the video, brilliant stuff.

Code Talker Heatsoul is such a neat card. The pay 1000 LP to draw effect is a reference to Soulburner’s speed duel skill, burning draw, in Vrains. It’s wonderful that this card specifically made code talkers relevant in the OCG. Playmaker’s deck winning duels through the literal power of friendship with Soulburner is really sweet.
Fun fact: Live Twin Codetalker control is the most inclusive deck in the current format. You got your transcode talkers, your lesbians, your heat souls. Once I find a bisexual archetype and how to jam three March into this, pride parade the deck will be born.
I think the handtrap build is a lot better, especially once the Brave Token stuff hits because then you can somewhat reasonably main Collector. You are right that a lot of handtraps aren't good right now (Ash, Gamma, Veiler, Imperm are good and everything else is heavily matchup dependent) but I'd 100% take Droll over the Crackdowns at the very least for the main. Droll doesn't cover everything this format, but it has impact against Tri-Brigade, Lyrilusc, most combo decks, Swordsoul, Floowandereeze, and a handful of rogue decks while having counterplay only in the form of Crossout, which isn't seeing significant play, and Called By, which hits most handtraps. Droll also becomes a lot better once the Brave Token package hits thanks its splashable engine requiring at least 2 searches, which stalls that engine at least for a turn and cuts off an omni-negate unless they hard draw the one-of.
Well, it's gonna be played in @Ignister for sure, enables the spell searcher to grab Achichi and it's more relevant than Fire Phoenix most of the time, free draws sounds fun to me!
It's better than Phoenix 99.99% of the time, but the draw is rarely worth wasting your turn 1 mats on. It's a great tool if you're interrupted, though, because of how many handtraps @ignister can play, and it's a suitable link to climb through on your way to Accesscode if you already used or don't need Transcode for the line.
I had to rewind the video a few times to make sure I heard him correctly when he said "when you normal summoned that statue Derek". One of the funniest things I have heard because I am a Derek and I play Flundereeze that can summon the statue. Love the content.

@@Adderflail It is, although this monster can't get with pure Salamangreat due to the summoning condition being 2+ different attribute cyberse based. It will does fit as long as you have Splash mage or transcode talker in the Salamangreat deck but otherwise it will be next to impossible to summon it in that deck.
You can also make this more combo oriented, giving your opponent Knightmare Corruptor Iblee while extra linking them, while also searching for every Code Talker monster you summon with a different attribute OPT using Cynet Codec, getting up to SIX per turn, because it's OPT per attribute.
I was wondering where codec was too. The heatsould tag out is nice. After seeing heatsoul tag out into s-force, I just bought a handful. They're really cheap

Not playing three copies of Cyberse Gadget is incorrect, it's a one card Heatsoul or Accesscode Talker. Sangan is almost worthless as it by itself doesn't even get you to a Heatsoul
@@noahclay9020 it's kind of a choke point but it's also important that your steps toward the main plays bait out cards from your opponent. For example, if you can't have your deck be immune to Ash Blossom stopping a play, then you should make it so that specific interaction has less value against you.

Just play Parralel Xcheed and a generic cyberse non wind link 2 like IP Masq and draw 2 else where it aint that hard, stuff like ABC and Salads and any other deck will love this
As sad as it is this deck isn't that good its certainly has a pretty interesting gameplan. Maybe I'll try to find a more recent OCG list and see about playing this a bit online.
When you don't play the best card, of course its bad, playing code talkers without codec is like playing striker without raye, it still works but it sucks

It conflicts with running the counter trap as you want to search both, and it requires running bad Code Talker monsters in the extra deck too. Sure you can set-up extra links but when half the decks in the game can go into Zeus that means nothing.

Where's Cynet Codec? It's 6 searches per turn (ok, in practice it's 5, because you're _not_ going to run shootingcode), and Micro Coder searches it. I do understand that searching it means not searching the trap, which is slightly significantly painful, but it, uh... lets you do more unga bunga extend into nothing plays and then end on an Avramax that you really, really want to pretend can't be outed. Still, though. 5 or 6 searches.
The good search targets for Codec are almost entirely generic extenders, which shockingly balances a card as dumb as Codec in theory because extension in Cyberse only goes so far. One decent Cyberse or Code Talker negate boss and the deck would be at top tables in an instant, I think, but Konami won't print that card until at least after they're done counting the DPE dollars, if they do.

@@timdoe8895 It's basically two different gameplans between this Heatsoul turbo strat and the normal Link Spam Codec strat. This just wants to use Heatsoul to get to more cards and stall the turn one, them OTK on the follow-up with Accesscode, and since you reach both with one-card combos that are extremely easy to find, you don't need Codec to search extenders. On the other hand, the Codec version plays more unique extenders and therefore has a lot more gas, facilitating flexible plays and better play into interruptions at the cost of a more compressed Extra Deck for the Code Talkers to fit and a much larger weakness to Nibiru and Droll. They both have their ups and downs, but the Codec version doesn't get to play as many utility cards.
@@timdoe8895 I think it probably is "better" but its way less fun and its ceiling is lower. Might be worth attempting some kind of codec package to get 1 or 2 disruptions along with a counter trap or two, but idk. The styles seem incompatible. Im running 6 backrow (3 conflict) in combo talkers anyway.
Sangan is just a brick for nostalgia, it's better to replace him with something else, probably a gamma since this deck is really an easy target for ash
How is Sangan a brick, it searches Your Mini talkers for extension, Back-up Sec for the same reason, Yes you dont get the effects but Sangan has proven to be A single Card OTK back when Union Carrier was legal
Codec isn't as good here because the goal is turn 1 control, turn 2 OTK. The free extenders you get off it aren't relevant since you can get to both your control boss and your OTK boss via one-card combos without needing extenders, making the deck less dynamic and adaptable but more consistent. Codec is more for the combo-oriented decklists that want to put up multiple monsters on turn 1 in the traditional Code Talker style.
This is literally the worst code talker deck I've ever seen, cyberse gadget is the best starter in the deck (one card heatsoul) and he's playing it at 1, only 1 cynet mining is simply wrong, sangan is not a good card (just ask altergeist players from when faker was at 1), heatsoul should really be a 2 of, and there's a plethora of other issues in the list but I have run out of brain cells to continue complaining with.

@@timdoe8895 It's basically two different gameplans between this Heatsoul turbo strat and the normal Link Spam Codec strat. This just wants to use Heatsoul to get to more cards and stall the turn one, them OTK on the follow-up with Accesscode, and since you reach both with one-card combos that are extremely easy to find, you don't need Codec to search extenders.
On the other hand, the Codec version plays more unique extenders and therefore has a lot more gas, facilitating flexible plays and better play into interruptions at the cost of a more compressed Extra Deck for the Code Talkers to fit and a much larger weakness to Nibiru and Droll. They both have their ups and downs, but the Codec version doesn't get to play as many utility cards.
@@timdoe8895 I think it probably is "better" but its way less fun and its ceiling is lower. Might be worth attempting some kind of codec package to get 1 or 2 disruptions along with a counter trap or two, but idk. The styles seem incompatible. Im running 6 backrow (3 conflict) in combo talkers anyway.

How is Sangan a brick, it searches Your Mini talkers for extension, Back-up Sec for the same reason, Yes you dont get the effects but Sangan has proven to be A single Card OTK back when Union Carrier was legal

Codec isn't as good here because the goal is turn 1 control, turn 2 OTK. The free extenders you get off it aren't relevant since you can get to both your control boss and your OTK boss via one-card combos without needing extenders, making the deck less dynamic and adaptable but more consistent. Codec is more for the combo-oriented decklists that want to put up multiple monsters on turn 1 in the traditional Code Talker style.

This is literally the worst code talker deck I've ever seen, cyberse gadget is the best starter in the deck (one card heatsoul) and he's playing it at 1, only 1 cynet mining is simply wrong, sangan is not a good card (just ask altergeist players from when faker was at 1), heatsoul should really be a 2 of, and there's a plethora of other issues in the list but I have run out of brain cells to continue complaining with.
