Most of the details that he's complaining about on the bburago actually do exist on certain models in real life. Not that I care. I don't buy collectables I prefer sim racing.
The cheap ones have the same quality for interest holding value as the very expensive ones, I know from experience and the most I've paid for one model car of 1/18 scale is $140.00 although I'd have to add that the hi end ones do appreciate in value over time if you are selling any of them especially if that type model is discontinued
excellent comparison, Rob. I think if bburago had released it in the same color scheme, it would have from a distance held up even better to the high end.
Maybe Bburago bought a BBR Monza, 3D-scanned it, reproduced and paint in another color. Sold it for $45 each of the about 20k copies they made. Hahahaha. Just kidding.
Saw the grey Monza Sp1 in person at a Motorshow, beautiful car! One thing I think Bburago did better is the rear taillights which on the real car had a darker tone much closer to the Bburago than the BBR.
@@ROBSMODELCARS BBR is definitely better but i'm not sure it can justify the price difference. I think a detailed and upgraded Bburago is the best bet.
Not quite, the Bbruago looks cheap in comparison. No decals, no opened mesh, and simplistic detail. For what you pay, it’s a great deal though! I’d rather pay $45 for Bburago than hundreds on a BBR
Burago did the other way as well, and ENLARGE a model, so it would "fill up" the box, like the Alpine A110, wich was a rather small car in real life :D
Thanks for this, Rob!! For the money, Burago well done! For true-to-life 'feel' and satisfying detail, the BBR's higher price is visibly proven, but tempered by being a sealed resin. It comes down to price and it seems AA knows where to 'hover'. I'd save the $45 and put it into the BBR.
If you got stitching decals for the seat in the burago model it world look more realistic at least and can you make seat belts for 1:18 cars or can you buy them. If you could make a video on how to make them that would be great thanks.
So here's a question, Sir. The Bburago, clocking in at $45 is less than 12% of the BBR'S price. Would the quality of the budget model only feature 12% of the BBR's details? Comparatively?
Bburago used to make great collectors models but not so nowadays but anyway for that price is a very good looking toy as far as the collectors debate I prefer die cast over resin, I’m a huge AutoArt fan but I like and have some good resin models I’m not like other collectors and in your case there’s a few youtubers that simply hate resin models for not having full openings I heard one of them called resin models paper weights, my only issue with them is price not necessarily materials
I like a good die cast or resin model but you’d think manufacturers could get the carbon fiber decals to be closer in scale to what they should be. In 1/18 scale the carbon fiber weave would be very small but what they use on these models and most others is way too large. Each square would be bigger around than a finger which is big for carbon fiber weave.
I find myself very rarely buying plastic ehh resin models as the kick of a model is in the reproduction of the real car which isn't closed either else if would have zero function. And asking 400 dollars for a resin car and still selling it only shows to me some people just like to throw away their money or only buy a model to sell it for a higher price later, so not for passion or love of cars. Sad thing the whole resin and non opening die cast cars that are flooding the market more and more, and we as consumers buy it and pay the overpriced price for the eternally limited series (who gets a kick of that anyway make 10.000 of a good reasonable priced model is my preference). Yes I have some 1:12 and one 1:18 resins too simply because there was no die cast equivalent to it. Hence I love my 1:12 Sun Star models where even the side windows can be lowered the same way as you would do on the real car, that to me still is the only great way of perfection in a model, max out the working parts, die cast, good paint and full engine details with wiring . And then you can see, that you can get a fully functional 1:12 model for 200 dollars ore less where some 1:18 die cast makes ask 800 dollars for a Mercedes 600 with the same functions LOL. A good buy in my opinion was the LCD Huayra Roadster with excellent red paint, all functioning and great multi coloured details at just 135 dollars. So yes superiour quality doesn't require snob prices at all folks.
@@ROBSMODELCARS its $65 US there now, plus $20 shipping ..but finally found it at fairfieldcollectibles for $47 (US) including tax and shipping. Just hoping I can get an sp2 for that price. Thanks for vids dude. Good stuff👍
I don't like how you say "if you can only afford the Bburago". There has to be a less rude or less snobbish way to say that.. How about "if you want a Ferrari model at a more affordable price"...... I've noticed this style of language in quite a few of your videos. It might rubb some people the wrong way.
Bburago wins, I wouldn't pay 10x as much for just a better interior brake calliper and lights.
Don't forget the carbon fiber decals ! 😉
( 😅😄😃 ) I'd use the extra 360 for 9 more cars.... & I'd have a 10 car collection instead of one car !

Whatever price-rage you collect a Bburago is where everyone started.
Very true, my very first model was a Bburago Ferrari F40 when I was a kid
I started on Maisto models
yeah, I started with Bburago, Maisto and Revell
For me, a 400$ model need to have opening part and nicely detailed engine and everything. The price only for the exterior is too much.
I’ll take the 45$ model that has opening features

Excelent comparison between to brands , great details and quality paint at BBR , but Bburago made a really quality leap with this Ferrari SP1 model .
Couldn't agree more!
Bburago releases very good models, for its price you do not have to envy anything to any premium band. Excellent video. Regards!!.. ✌

Bburago wins
I disagree with that. While Bburago's effort is very good, the BBR is still the much better model. BUT, for $45 it is a great base to make it better.

Great comparison, cant wait to see the results of your custom bburago!
Small tip: not Bew-rago, but Boo-rago. Nice review 👍🏻
The small details are much better on the BBR, but the Burago is a very close second. The SP2 is a nicer car
Burago did the other way as well, and ENLARGE a model, so it would "fill up" the box, like the Alpine A110, wich was a rather small car in real life :D
I wonder how the kyosho and others compare, are they too large as well?
I think this comparison was great! Bburago can do great. Sad when they get lazy
They don't get lazy per se, it a budget model so you can't expect the best details on these
Thanks for this, Rob!! For the money, Burago well done!

It depends on the price point, but for the vaule the bburago hits right :)
I think its the best Bburago ever made. Total steal.

Awesome comparison. This is where diminishing returns come in. Lol. Fans of this car end up winning in the end!
brilliant comparison
Changing the color of burago.. Will make it look great
Hi Rob, is it possible you can compare the Ousia Lamborghini countach with the Makeup Models version. Because they look pretty similar aesthetically.
I'll put it on the list to film. Cheers
Thank you much for the review. I for one does not like the high price resin esp. if its not openable . I just subscribed!

Resins are shells diecast more functionality
ROB THANKS FOR SHARING 👍
Hi Rob, have you ever tried to repaint a resin model car? it´s posible to do so?
Yes, I have repainted many resin models. Just sand down the original paint and prime and paint over the top of that.
Totally getting the Bburago. Any amount of money containing "hundred" should be used for real car mods/upgrades. :)
I'd like to c it when you finished modding it
Guys what site can I order the burago models from
bburago vs bbrgo?
Would love to see the same comparison with the Roma, when Bburago launches it...
Is Bburago releasing the Roma? I have not heard that or seen that anywhere
I honestly don't know, but if they do release it, would be interesting.

Bburago ofcourse

i cant stand a model that does not open anything... and have shallow lines in doors and motor bay it removes half the realism
I just hate BBR always make those no opening part of models.
i choose bburago HAHAHHA worth it
El Burago podrá tener peor calidad, pero vale 8 veces menos y tiene partes operativas. Visto esto me quedo con el Burago.
The descales are not real carbon fiber . descales are printed.
Do you mean decals
The comparison is was stating was real carbon fiber decals versus textured plastic that tries to look like carbon fiber decals.
