Thank you for sharing, it is definitely not an easy transition when you think about it. I want to ask about the language, I know you mentioned it briefly. I also can understand 60% of what is being said or written, but when it comes to speaking, its a little more difficult, how have you navigated this or do you speak Italian well?
Hi, I share your sentiments. In the beginning I honestly just responded with the basic Italian words I could gather and mixed with a bit of English to get my point across. But if you live here, in time , as you hear more of Italian being spoken, you will gain the confidence to speak. Now I speak it fairly well by I still need that boost of confidence to express myself as I’d like. Try reading out loud in Italian when you are alone and speaking more to friends or family you are comfortable around. It helps me out.
