I agree with all the settings you set on Rekordbox. In fact the RGB waveform is more usefull that the blue one because each color represents a frequency of sound, so if you havent heard a song before it is hell of a lot helpfull to see where you get a lost of bass or snares so the frequencys dont clash with each other

@@MakingMadBeats Hi! I get latency while using novation dicers. Do you think changing latency preference to 5 from 10 will fix the issue? Right now my latency was at 10. I use mac book pro, which is i7 and 16 gb ram. Looking forward for your reply. Thanks
@@djdarshofficial868Well, If you have latency issues with the dicers turn down the latency as far as possible and see what happens 😎! Your setting to 10 (I assume you are using Serato DJ?) seems to be way too high for a latency free performance of the dicers. Which model of the MacBook Pro do you use/exact specs? Which DJ Software do you use? Are the dicers compatible with Serato DJ since they were released at a time where Serato DJ still was Scratch Live? I own a MacBook Air 13 Early 2015 model with i5 and 8GB of RAM and can turn my latency to 1 with no issues in Serato DJ Pro.

Hey dj Carlo I have a question I was thinking do you think going to a dj school is worth the money? I’ve been working to try and get into beat lab academy out here in Los Angeles which is a 12 week course that teaches you the following *history of dj *intro to mixing *finding your style *crowd psychology *mixing techniques *show preparation *adding sound flavor *recording mixtapes *business of dj *advanced mixing And lastly *stage ready So do you think it’s worth the money to go this school and pay thousands of dollars as a beginner dj who wants to become a professional dj?
Fact! Dj Carlo is the man. His tutorials are excellent. I have learned more from watching him than any other method. I have been a DJ since 1989, started on turntables, switched to digital 7 years ago. Been treating Serato & Pioneer DDJ-SX like standard turntables not using hardly any software functions...until I found DJ Carlo (His videos found me). Imagine, 30 years & still learning. Thank you DJ CARLO!
Man, I gotta go with Carlo and Alpha on this one. Thousands of dollars won't teach you anything you can't learn with Carlo for much less or free. Carlo has a verified successful career, is super nice and, as you see, he always replies to comments on new videos. The biggest thing is, there are things that NO ONE can teach you if you are unable to notice these things without someone pointing them out. I spent about 15 years playing in bar bands and I am telling you, the biggest thing you need to do is learn how to read the crowd. In the end, the vast majority of the crowd will have no idea how fancy you just mixed (or played) something. All they care about is good music and having fun, and if you can't tell when they are NOT having fun (which is pretty obvious) and be willing and able to adjust things accordingly, you will never succeed. This does not mean you will get totally stuck playing music you would rather not be playing, it just means that you have to learn how to work a crowd to move them in a direction of your choosing. You can play anything you want if you do it correctly, but if you feed tunes to your audience the wrong way, you will lose them. Learning this takes time and experience in both succeeding and failing. My first DJ gig is less than 2 months away. I can't do any of the performance mixing that Carlo does well enough to do it live (yet), but there are tons of very successful DJ's out there that don't go full on performance mode. Miss Monique is a perfect example. My upcoming booking is 2, 5 hour nights! I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will have some good moments and some bad moments. On one hand I am nervous as hell, but I know how to work with people and be their friend and just MC in general. I plan to keep the mixing super simple and not attempt anything that is more than I am capable of and comfortable with. If that means I do nothing more than crossfade from one song to the next, then that is all I will do. That will get me through this first couple nights with at least a satisfied crowd. It gets people hearing my basic mixes, it gets me work ($$$) and most importantly, I get real experience. The fancy shit can come later. For now, I just want to make them dance and have fun. Get a controller, practice and start gigging at small bars. Drunk people are the EASIEST people to make happy. By your third set, you can fart in the mic and they will love it. GO FOR IT!
Hey Undead, I did the Scratch Academy here in LA. Here’s the thing - I’ve been DJing for 10 years prior to doing it, but always self-taught and RUclips tutorials. If you have the extra time and money, I say do it. You learn from pro’s in person, plus I personally loved the part of practicing/troubleshooting on all types of equipment the school provides. This way when something goes wrong, you don’t panic and you pinpoint right away where the issue is. That’s just my 2 cents - I love learning, no matter how good I get. To this very day I do some type of online course and in person mentoring. Always improving!
Follow-up. An excellent way to get experience is to assist a working DJ. We teach our assistants from the ground up. We start them off with lugging gear, cable management, connecting the gear & crowd management. Once we gain confidence that they can show up on time, dress the part & work well we step them up gradually. The best candidates will learn the business side as well. Meeting with clients, scheduling, pricing, event preparation & of course...paperwork. Honestly, it is difficult to find consistent, reliable help in this biz. It's like finding hay in a needle stack.
I’m using rekordbox with ddj 400 and its best software and even I get ddj400 because of ur videos and it’s really great controller Salamat Kuya love from Dubai
I started out using Virtual DJ and later went over to Serato DJ Pro because I eventually upgraded to a better controller and my digital DJ friends were using Serato as well. I prefer to use my vinyl equipment but it's so difficult to find real records these days. Great content Carlo! I think you forgot another DAW, what about the people who use Traxtor?
I use VDJ 8 on DDJ-SR and like that i can import music quickly without having to setup crates and love the automix feature. The sound effects are pretty week though. OTOH Serato DJ Pro has better native effects like echo out, combo fx, but doesn't have automix and it takes too long import music and setup crates. Also it sometimes bogs down my laptop whereas VDJ never fails.
I’m a Serato fan and user, I tried recordbox but I bought a pioneer DDJ SX2 in 2012/13 when it came out and it came with serato and controls everything from the board… choosing the layout to choosing how to search, artist, track, bpm and track number, the crossfader has a knob as all mixers should +++ it’s hard to change when it does everything I want!
Quite true! I know a bunch of DJs who have both RB and SDJ on their laptops, but they always stick to the ones they like the most because that's what suits them best!
i use virtual dj due to alot of features that are locked behind dlc's with rekordbox or extra stuff you have to pay for e.g. visualisations are naturally unlocked with virtual dj and also have a ton of created plugin's that can be downloaded free.
Even though I did learn a few things here...these are all preferences and what type of styles one goes with. Will mess with them to see if they sound ok. Thanks for the video.
Thanks man, God Bless... in an event I always use chill trap 4 a start up like both of us by yellow claw before the main program. by this way I would have my final adjustment on my sound system. on practice and regular playin I use 90’ s disco and 80’s new wave maybe because I am a gen X..more power to u my Dj Carlo..

AWESOME VID as always 🤗 I'm in serato settings... I had DJ preferences button, audio, library display, fx, expansion packs but NO MIXER button 😬 weird
Another great video ... 🤯 the waveform is so much easier to see ! Thank you 😊 🎧
I got my first paying gig for a wedding today and thank you for all the knowledge and info on your channel for giving me the confidence to do so 🙏🏻 !
Wow thanx for the great lesson 🙏🏻
Very helpful tips. Thanks DJ Carlo!!
To answer your question, I use Rekordbox DJ coz it came free with my DDJ RB!😁
i use virtual dj due to alot of features that are locked behind dlc's with rekordbox or extra stuff you have to pay for e.g. visualisations are naturally unlocked with virtual dj and also have a ton of created plugin's that can be downloaded free.
That's cool, man! Virtual dj is a strong software! But I simply prefer others.. Sorry!
Even though I did learn a few things here...these are all preferences and what type of styles one goes with. Will mess with them to see if they sound ok. Thanks for the video.
Great video Carlo! I've finetuned my Serato right now 😎
@@djcarlo just a fast other question: How can I record line in audio on my phone? Or is there a cam which supports that?
1:13 Malaa - Notorious...... damn that track is the reason i want to start djing
@@djcarlo Honestly not verry good. But hey im gonna keep my hopes up and work on my dj skills
Yes i have applied immediately, thanks sensei
You have learned well young grasshopper! Haha, hope the settings help bud!
I went in and changed these settings in Serato,am I a good DJ now, nope but it will help to one day make me that way. Thanks for the tips :) Was nice to see that I already had two of these setting set on my own, made me feel smart.
🥰🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 THANK U SO MUCH!!!!! Question: how do you get those grid lines to appear in the waveform of the song like the way it t appears here? 😁 Been playing around trying to figure this out lol... 🥰🥰🥰
They should be natively on in Rekordbox! But they should be in the settings if ever :)
Thank you Carlos your help is really appreciated very much.
Can you do rekordbox fxs vs serato fxs.
Does any one know we're I can get some one to set up my serto please will pay for setting up for me please
Bro im your fan i watch all your video im really impressed❤️
Very helpful video. Will definitely change some stuff on my RekordBox software :)
Serato Dj pro - came with the DJ controller - good tips👍
Love your videos Thank you So much, when I am recording while playing music, when I scratch you can barely hear the scratches they sound really faint
You may need to move the crossfader a little bit more bud! Check your crossfader settings; that might help! :)
its very useful to me sir ... thankq sir... and i happy to say i use DDJ 400
Also thanks a billion! for where to put the latency on Serato dj.. : : I always wondered!!
Got a Numark Nv11 on Serato, loving now I have enabled the brake on stop start 👌

Yaaay! Good luck to your mixes! Cheers!
Excellent my guy!! Thanks a TON!!
Hats off to you my guy. You should be having millions of subs by now.
Literally going through your videos, one by one.... each hold so much information and helpful tips.
Thanks so much for the work you're doing !
Thanks Dramatello! Hopefully things keep picking up hahaha
You have some very helpful videos man!
I use Vdj for it's versatility, stability and it offers quite a few features that are not included in the other main programs. So those little things can mean a lot. But even vdj have some default settings that I hate and their list of options is quite extensive.
Um, this video was amazing and a great setup! Plus his hand motions out me at ease lol thank you!
Thank you, it works perfect!
That's great Bri! Glad everything works!
Great video help alot & learned some new things . Thanks !!
Any tips for latency settings on a Traktor s4 MK3? You're AMAZING DJ CARLO!
Make sure to lower it between 5 to 10 ms!
