Fun Facts:-
Before partition, The Bathinda - Abohar - Hindulmakot line used to continue to Mandi Sadiq Jn and then onwards to Bawalnagar and Samasatta Jn where the line meets Peshawar - Lahore - Karachi Main Line. This was Delhi - Karachi Line. In 1990s the Sri Ganganagar - Hindulmakot line was built with a new Hindulmakot station on a different site, thus abandoning old Hindulmakot station. At this time the Fazilka - Abohar line was also built because before partition the line from Firozpur to Fazilka used to continue to Amruka , Mandi Sadiq Jn to Samasatta Jn. There was also a line between Firozpur and Kasur Jn ( Pakistan ) which used to continue towards Raiwind Jn and another to Lodhran Jn. Today it is known as Raiwind - Lodhran branch line. Another track from Amritsar via Khem Karan used to meet at Kasur Jn...
Before 1993 i.e. before project Unigauge the Bathinda - Kot Kapura line was BG and MG parallel while Kot Kapura - Fazilka line was MG only...

Absolutely wonderful coverage Avinash bhai. Love the fact that you cover all these rare sections. Main cities/lines wagera ki toh darjano videos mil jayengi but detailed coverage of such lines, especially by railfans is not so common. Will try to cover this section in winter. Tickets won't be a problem then. Abhi toh it's nearly impossible to get tickets in long distance trains....

Actually hindumalkote is the last station in the previous bhatinda- kasur jn(Pakistan) line..which is now defunct and the abohar hindumalkote section have been connected to Shri ganganagar gradually

There is a big history in Fazilka. There was a line going to Amruka and Samasatta Jn in Pakistan. The line terminates at Chananwala. You did not mention this. similarly there is a line from Hindumalkote to Mandi Sadiqganj (Previously Mcleodganj Jn) in Pakistan where the line Amruka joins. This line had trains from delhi going to Samasatta and in to karachi in the past.
Fazilka line going to Kot Kapura was MG and was the MG branch going right upto Delhi Jn via Rewari. It was converted into BG by 1998.

I know this is a controversial opinion, but I kind of like the simple beauty of the unelectrified lines, with just the tracks going on into the distance. However, I know that we have to electrify the lines, because running the trains purely on diesel would only get more expensive as crude oil keeps climbing up in the world markets.

From Fazilka junction another line was going towards very next and last station on Pakistan side named Amruka.
Bhatinda - Samasata line was the main route from Delhi to Ksrachi pre partition .
