Volkihar vampires in lore: live underneath the ice in frozen lakes, rarely leaving them. Volkihar vampires in Skyrim: spend more than a minute underwater, start to drown.
Waterbreathing is a rare but cheap enchantment. Ironically, it's the cheapness that makes it rare because random drops for enchantments is level-dependent, so at higher levels, cheaper enchantments don't show up.
@@DarkAdonisVyers Yes, but why do undead vampires need to breath? They should theoretically be able to survive underwater indefinitely without need of enchantments, which the lore seems to imply. Fortunately, with the proper mods or the PC console commands, this problem can be fixed.

There's a theory in ESO (where you can be the same bloodline as Malae) because of the way the bloodline works in terms of abilities (unaffected by the daylight but get stronger at night) the theory is that Hircine helped create the bloodline which is why its so unique and strong compared to the others, its always really interesting to me the thought of other princes effecting Vampire bloodlines.
Nice video, i whould like more stories and content related to Mephala in ether ESO or other elder scrolls games. And tbh imo ESO whould be better to explore Mephala, her realm and what she does and so on.

So Arkay gave her a special blessing and whispered in her ear "when your chastity is broken, your child will soon be born" Molag Bal defiled the women and before leaving Molag for Oblivion he felt this spark of a presence in the room. It was growing and emanating from her stomach. Molag had fathered a offspring. He shed the droplet upon her brow as a sign of defeat and ripped the growing fetus from her womb and left to Oblivion. It ended in a draw between Arkay and Molag.

Morvarth the vampire hunters has the same name as an ancient vampire in Morthal
Well that's because, it is him. The old priest turned him. Read "immortal blood" that is where u will find the story of Movarth.
Always found his story rather tragic.
Perfect timing while I start my new Vampire build
What Race do you think would make the most powerful Vampire? I’m thinking Brettons.
@@kronksdiablo3742 Orc. The already formiddable strength and durability of the Orsimir combined with the greater power that comes form a Vampire? Brutal.

There is also lore out there in ESO where the Khajiit credit Sanguine for vampirism, I think. Makes me wonder if maybe Molag Bal work with Sanguine on a strain of vampirism in Elsweyr too. Or perhaps he had multiple collaborations with other Daedric Princes to make different forms of vampirism.
Literally everybody: no
Malag bal: we're off to a great start
I always enjoy a vampire video in Elder Scrolls. Thanks Drew!
Dang, awesome video my good Daedrologist! Keep up the work, stay warm at the College, and happy Yuletide season to you Fudgemuppet boys!
Would love to hear more stories by you guys on Vampires, unfortunately there's only so much to tell as of now.
Looking forward to the next podcast!
It feels like It’s been so long since I’ve heard a real Drew lore video. Drew’s lore videos are what first pulled me in.
As a nord player I've killed Lots of vamps in Skyrim and now I have just a little more respect for vampires in the lore 😔😭😆
I play a lone Dawnguard who worships arkay. I usually kill them on a regular. I've heard their lore and love the lore. But it dosen't change the fact that those, blood eaters kill my venders every single time i play. Lol they get the silver. No exceptions.
I play as vampire a lot. Usually I tend to make my vampire character act a specific way depending on the backstory I made for my character and when I become a vampire. In my current playthrough I'm playing as a morally grey Witch who had to flee her home because they tried to kill her in fear. Now she desires power so she can never be uprooted again which is why she wants to become a vampire. She still joins the Dawnguard however as she knows most vampires are evil and could be a potential threat to her.
@@alter6243 hey as long as you don't kill my venders, or my homeboys and homegirls in whiterun . your okay with me. Lol
@@anthonym840 Don't worry they're safe. Only reason I'm a vampire is for the immortality. Sven is my cattle.
@@alter6243 I'm not protecting Nazeem lol I'll lock him in the Dawnguard dungeons so u can also cattlize him if u want. 👍
Movarth was such an accomplished Vampire Hunter and so skilled a fighter that he killed dozens of the most dangerous Vampires with his bare hands. Yet when the Dragonborn fights him in Morthal, he's total fodder. He should have been nearly as powerful as Harkon.
I have to agree with you there. They did Movarth dirty making him fodder.
Vaermina and Bal having sex is not an image I was expecting to receive today. I'm also not sure where you got sex from the word "discussion". I think Bal just had to buy the cure, either in trapped souls or with whatever else he has Vaernima could want.
Well done, young man. A breathtaking example that the English language can be beautiful not only in the written form, but to listen to when read well, and treated with respect. Thank you. And cheers, from the land Downundah. ;=
Please make all of your videos with the same tone an narration in the beginning of this video, with the music, and the nice calm narration, I could watch forever. PLEASE KEEP THIS NARRATION UP! PLEASE!
Man, you guys have THE best job and DO the best job when doing it. Keep it coming!
So when daddy Bal and mommy Vaermina hate each other very much, they engage in violent, vigorous discussion, and that's how vampires are made. Gotcha
Now i cant stop picturing ball and vermina plaining up vampires over a cup of tea
Become a vampire and enthral the Elves. Scare them out of Skyrim GG
genius playthrough idea
Similar to ESO I would love a vampire skill tree in Elder Scrolls 6.
So wait, Movarth just approached a vampirologist priest and offered to test his theories against the kinds of vampires of the land? :D
Real nice dude!
Yea he met with a researcher/expert in the book and would test himself. One of the best books in the game. He’d use the researchers knowledge to hunt them. Wish there was more dialogue or a larger story from him tho
Yay - thank you Drew & Fudgemuppet! ❤️💙💜
Ahh it’s drew, the key to keeping balance between the fudgemuppet tribunal of lore scholars. Your voice is so calming, or are you just an imperial 🤨
He's kind of the Sotha Sil to Michael's Almalexia and Scott's Vivek lmao
Drew's the quiet and mysterious one! Michael is the loud and straightforward one, and Scott is the loud and mysterious one!
Can you guys do a podcast on in depth vampires with vaermina? I love this so much I'd love to see a podcast or longer video on it and theories on vampires and vaermina. Thank you Drew! You're kinda my favorite. I love all of you guys though! Keep the content coming.
Can we get a series where you guys read the ingame books and journals, everytime you do you bring them to life and would he great to see more of it :)
Vampires as tragic figures is always more interesting than stories that treat them like people blessed with superpowers.
Nice timing, I am right in the middle of a Vampire play through! 👍🍺
Great video, always loved that book. Y'all should do a short on Palla.
This is almost word for word of the book ... Imortal Blood in game.... My favorite book in game.
This might be TMI but when you described the collaboration between Vaermina and Molag Bal in the creation of abominations, I could help but to think of the nasty alien sex scene from "Species 2". Classic film btw highly recommend
Your voice gave me goosebumps the whole video through!
Serana: "Thank you for your kindness. I'll remember it the next time I'm feeling hungry."
Absolutely love your ES lore videos
Fudgemuppet authored the unknowable Elder Scrolls. They are the reason why the moth priest loses his sight and why septimus loses his mind. Their combined lore beards are unfathomable and cannot be comprehended my mere mortal minds. Change my mind
Good timing since I started an evil vampire playthrough sometime back

Wow man you are amazing at what you do when I first clicked in this video I did not think that I would like it but ive been hypnotized by ur videos great content yo🤟👍
@@EyeOfMagnus4E201 It balances out that "vampires can't cross running water" thing because "running water" is really hard to tell from still water, especially in the context of a game.
@@DarkAdonisVyers I’d agree if these were “traditional” vampires (actually, there are so many different types of vampires in different nations folklore with different powers and vulnerabilities that perhaps “modern” vampire would be more appropriate) but Volkihar vampires aren’t modern vampires, and indeed, at least according to lore, “live” underwater. Being vulnerable to running water for water dwelling creatures seems counter-intuitive.
Tldw: Drew thinks that maybe Molag Bal and Vaermina did a cosmic bang and discussed the creation of vampires over some wine.
Man now i want a drama show about the affairs of the Daedra.
I have a soft spot for vamps after Serana. Always found it weird that there is -soooo- much tension between your character and her that the ending is kind of underwhelming. I wasn't expecting them to get down with eachother or anything, but if you're going to make romantic tension part of your story, at least plan on (pardon the pun) fleshing that narrative out
Does every main character with a female companion have to end with romance?
@@badluck5647 no but it's very common. It's also natural that two people spending time together and fighting side by side would develop a friendship or fondness for each other.
Procreation is one of our most primal instincts. It's nature buddy
@@badluck5647 no.
@@starwarzfan49 My point is that it is a predictable (& therefore boring) trope.
@@badluck5647 No. But its not just female characters that give that option or assume romance.
Have you heard of the dawnguard? vampire hunters or something

Might consider joining up myself.
The only thing I can think of that would prompt Molag Bal to agree to anything with any other Deadra Lord would be something that would benefit him for the rest of time. ... And the only thing I can see Molag Bal wanting is... Nothing. Unless it was something given to him that he wanted gone. Vermina would be fully capable of giving something akin to nightmares to another Daedric Lord and that is something that Molag Bal would very much want gone. Just a thought that goes along with what you're saying.
since we're on the topic of the Prince of Nightmares, I'm going to suggest the song Vaermina by Sheogorath. Found the band pretty recently when looking for Elder Scrolls themed metal.
So this actually makes total sense vampires being predatory would be able to instill fear in others and also conquering their own fear would give them added benefits
Epic timeing guys!!! I was just watching dawnguard dlc vampire stuff. Epic lore.
I love that story in the beginning
I actually remember reading this book in one of the games. Back when I took the time to read instead of testing my new magic spells!
So...audio books narrated by Fudgemuppet when??? Delicious voice, my guy(s)
Secunda music fits the vampire lore so well
There's a theory in ESO (where you can be the same bloodline as Malae) because of the way the bloodline works in terms of abilities (unaffected by the daylight but get stronger at night) the theory is that Hircine helped create the bloodline which is why its so unique and strong compared to the others, its always really interesting to me the thought of other princes effecting Vampire bloodlines.
Nice video, i whould like more stories and content related to Mephala in ether ESO or other elder scrolls games. And tbh imo ESO whould be better to explore Mephala, her realm and what she does and so on.
I´m a simple man. I see vampires on the tittle, I immediately like the video.
I hope Bethesda expands on vampires and keeps the vampire lords in the next game
Vaermina is my favorite Prince, and I want to see more about her. She’s so mysterious and interesting.
I got a intersting What if theory. What if defiling Lamae was Molag's greatest mistake. Lamae along with worshipping Arkay she had always wanted a child.
If I was in elder scrolls is totally become a vampire, and try to figure out a way to get my soul sent somewhere else besides cold harbor
Your best bet would probably be soul trapping yourself in a Black soul gem, although you'd end up in the Soul Cairn. Not sure that's a preferable fate. Then again, you could always find and keep a cure on hand for when you finally want an exit. Although of immortality is your need, there are less soul damning ways to extend your life indefinitely through magical means within the Elder Scrolls universe.
@@lazilycatharticone4191 manimarco's route was probably the most successful. Considering he became a god. Of course before that he was a lich. But he was successfully immortal with a less damning concept for afterlife. Only thing that was damning about his situation was the choices he made to create pacts with the Daedra.
@@anthonym840 true, but I guess the question is whether or not another mortal could achieve such a feat without the essence of a god? The heart of Lorkhan is gone, the Mantella was blasted into Aetherius. Maybe the Eye of Magnus?

What I never understood after all these years was why does Movarth seem to be under the volkihar variant/distant bloodline? Sybille Stentor seems to have closer ties to the Cyrodilic Vampire Order (in appearance) than him.
Given that Sanguine has some Vampiric followers wouldn't that make him a sort of a, cool, uncle... 🤔
The Empress of Vampirism Camilla Valerius!!!
Maybe the old leaked "Redfall" title hints at hammerfell/high rock facing severe issues with the aftermath of the sky being darkened from the events of dawnguars

Vampires in the Elder Scrolls universe are the best vampires.
Wrong since Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines exists.
@@demistr7435 VTM is a decent game with lore that's best when glossed over.
Bloodlines was fun but it shares the same lore issues the rest of the world of darkness shares.
The actual vampires of the game are just boring and not very powerful. I understand the purpose of the game is personal horror, body horror, and political horror but when your vampire is barely able to do the standard things like turn into mist without having a Story Teller that's willing to accept your "OP" character then it seems almost underwhelming. It works for what it does but it doesn't do the things that come standard with vampires in things like Elder Scrolls

Be wary talking of the vampyr of Tamriel! Ye may awaken the eldest, capitalist bloodsucker, Todd of the Bethesda clan; opening, yet again, the realm of Skyrim to even more exploitation. The cacophony of the muppet minions, and other cackling content ghouls, fuels the Bethesda clan’s yearning to siphon ever more capital from the unwary and undiscerning Skinner-box sycophants of the Elder Scrolls.
