I just love your video... very professionally done for the year 2020 and I love
the very witty connection between Cheryl and her hubby Roger! Your sense of
humour was infectious and brightened me up. You two make a GREAT couple!
Kindly read my long post as YOU both will find it illuminating... especially
Cheryl as it pertains to her maternal Haplogroup result of Kanuri and the
other group that was mentioned. Cheryl can also do an autosomal DNA
test with AncestryDNA aka Ancestry.com and 23andMe.com. If North Africa
DNA marker percentage does not appear in her result, then it means she
has NO Fulani maternal line... more on that later as you read on.
Welcome home and congratulations to Cheryl Grant and Roger Grant on the Patriclan
and Matriclan DNA tests linking you to Cameroon, Gabon and Nigeria. The Kanuri
are located in 2 countries... in Borno State, Nigeria and Chad where they are known as the
Kanembu people. Other ethnicities besides the Kanuri of Northern Borno are the
    Bura/Babur,
Marghi, Gwoza, Kibaku where the kidnapped Chibok school girls who were forcibly
converted to Islam by terrorists against their will mostly came from.
For Roger, the Bamilekes and the Tikars of Cameroon are closely related
and I gathered this information from a few Tikars online. This pretty much
confirms that a lot of people from Cameroon and Gabon were deported
from their ancestral homelands and enslaved in the Americas. Someone
from the Tikar people on RUclips said up to 70 percent of Tikars were enslaved
and that may be responsible for the fairly high number of Tikar or even Cameroon
results from the AfricanAncestry.com Patriclan and Matriclan tests!

Fulani people are in almost all countries in West Africa. Senegal, Nigeria, Republic of Guinea, Sierra Leone, Mauritania, Mali, the Gambia and Ghana. Yes they are nomadic and clannish. They are one of the most beautiful tribes and prefer marrying each other. They are mostly Muslims. Assuming you live in Texas, you can find the Fula progressive Union of Dallas Tx there. Texas has the largest community of Africans and they all celebrate cultural events every year. If you wanna call anywhere almost free, download Whatsapp. Love Bamileke music. My Favorite singer is Meiway. Large Cameroon community in Dallas also. Search on youtube for your people, culture and food. All Africans gesticulate, it's just part of us.

You guys should give me credit. I predicted Nigeria (though I said SE Nigeria or SW province of Cameroon). I know she has certain features I am familiar with. I grew up in Northern Nigeria and most of my mates were of fulani/kanuri. extraction. I am here for further lessons. Congratulations.

I'm just curious about this DNA ancestry information. I just think that for African Americans the information that is given is still too general. When white people get their DNA reports back not only do they know exactly where they are from they get their relative 's information that are living and dead and the exactly location to find and reach them with accuracy. Why isn't there a more direct bloodline to family?

Brother, you've cousins with the Tikar people in Cameroon. There is a family reunion held in Cameroon twice a year for the descendants of the Tikar people and their cousins. As reparations and a sign of solidarity they are giving the descendants free land. Let me know if you want me to connect you with lead of the organization in the diaspora.

Sister Cheryl You can get in touch I will tell you about your tribe. If you watch 90 days Fiancé Lisa the White Lady Who went to Nigeria to Marry Usman the Soja boy. Soja boy is from Kanuri tribe they are of Borno state and they are cattle herdsmen and farmers. My dad was stationed there when he was in the military. So I know them very well. While the Fulanis are also into cattle rearing the current President of Nigeria is of Fulani tribe. They refused to move with the 21century though we are working on it. But you be glad to know they are very beautiful people. The name of your native region is called Maiduguri Borno State In Northern Nigeria They Are Majority Muslim. While The Southerners Are Majority Christians. If you like to go to Nigeria some day I will be glad to connect you to My personal families. See you in 9nja soon though I’m in the state for now. God Bless You As You Find Your Root.

I have a question I'm waiting on my African ancestry results which I'm excited about. I'm looking to get a citizenship in Africa do you guys know how to go about that process if having this documentation from African ancestry is something that will help with that? Please let me know. You are so cute I love watching you together :-) by the way I reside in the United States in the state of California and I am an African-American woman

    • @BridgingtheGap400
      @BridgingtheGap400  4 года назад +1

Hi Kym, getting citizenship is going to be different in each African country. You may need to narrow down where you’d like to go so you can search more specifically. I personally don’t know of any countries where the African Ancestry results is influencing the government but my wife says she thinks she heard of one but she can’t remember which one. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@BridgingtheGap400 First thank you so much for responding. I was thinking if I had proof that I am descendant from a specific tribe or people that would give me some leverage for citizenship at least in the country they reside

You don't need to go to Nigeria or Cameron. Ghanaians are deep from all the way through the lines. Mali, Ethiopia, Cameron, Nigeria and settled in Gold Coast currently Ghana. So your ancestry could be in Ghana.

No wayyy... Lol a Gabonese bro. Welcome, Ludacris, Samuel L Jackson got their passports recently.
Basically Gabon, Cameroon, Congo etc... Share the same peoples. As you said we know where the borders came from. These people are known as the Bantu, which go up to South Africa. Languages like Lingala, Swahili and many others have the same Bantu roots. It's like the Latin languages with Spanish or French for exemple. Many Bantu people have migrated to the South of the continent when the Arabs invaded Egypt long time before the Europeans came. Gabon is an interesting one: When the Europeans decided to stop slavery, most of the ships that were already on their way to Europe, turned back to drop captured people on the continent. Of course they didn't do like Uber, they just dropped everyone at the same place, that's how countries like Gabon got created with other local people that were already there. This is the reason the capital is called Libreville (meaning "free town" in English). The administrative language is the French. Lot of history ... 👋🏽
    Fang+Bamileke = stubborn 😱

My mother had a very very entrepreneurial spirit. My maternal great grandfather brought his home in Pittsburgh in 1930’s, working as a janitor in the steel mill. They were very entrepreneurial.
