Great job. If you don’t like reading, this is a perfect video for you to listen for your cardiovascular system studies, medications and disorders. Two hours of audio that details all for neclex cardio.
Simply the best review around!!! The most clear, complete & comprehensive cardiovascular nursing review video on RUclips or anywhere on the web!!! Thank you Shan!!! Thank you so much!!!
Love this lecture!!! Love how you explain things, and relate it to nursing. I will rewatch this lecture when I take Med/Surg! Wish I had it last quarter, this was one chapter I struggled with! Thank you!
Excellent lecture, loved it. You have a huge talent for teaching! Just something I wanted to point out, angina is pain due to ischemia, MI is ischemia leads to necrosis of heart muscle....correct me if I'm wrong but that's what lots of my books say?
Nathanial, here is the technical explanation: insulin stimulates glycogenolysis. Thus, a lack of insulin can be thought of as having an inhibitory effect of glycogenolysis. Beta-blockers by blocking the release of insulin, can as such - cause hypoglycemia. Since many of the symptoms of hypoglycemia are masked by beta blockers, it makes this tough to pick up on. This is explained further in our pharmacology lecture with both technical and simpler explanations.
I'm overwhelmed with joy, I finally passed my NCLEX RN after three trials and I almost gave up until I met this God sent. Hai Shan nice video thanks, but i have a question about positive ino tropic and cardio tonic medication u said one of the side effect as hypotension. Just wondering if the inotrppe century effect was to increase and cause hypertension. Thanks very much

Good point ! You are absolutely right PAWP reflects LVEDP and they should be nearly equal :) But in certain conditions, like a RBBB and mitral stenosis & a few other issues that PAWP cannot be used accurately for estimating LV pressures or volumes. Essentially, any disease or defect that affects proper filling of the LV(preload) will/can result in unreliable PAWP...I have a link for a CCRN video about it if you like :) And again I agree, this is an amazing Cardiac lecture!!!
QUESTION: in carcinogenic shock you said they increase the respiratory rate and develop metabolic acidosis. I was thinking in hyperventilation (fast) was for metabolic alkalosis and hypo-ventilation ( slow and shallow) was for metabolic acidosis.. I just got confused about the type of respiration. Thanks
I know you posted three years ago haha but the acidosis come from the shock and decreased perfusion to cells so the hyperventilation is a compensatory mechanism to blow off CO2
Great job. If you don’t like reading, this is a perfect video for you to listen for your cardiovascular system studies, medications and disorders. Two hours of audio that details all for neclex cardio.

How does blocking the release of insulin cause hypoglycemia? 1:18:42
