Getting ready for harvest in MN today and while i drove last year it nice to get a refresher on the piler station stuff.. the first couple times going on the ramp is a bit tense as they are kinda tight till you get the feel back.. We use live bed chain drive trailers do no up in the air dump for us.. :) Hope you and we have a good harvest that is accident free.
We start today with a bit of cool and some wet with slight rain. that makes for slick roads on the approaches in and out of fields so taking the time to get it right and wait on traffic till you are all clear.. home piler is Waukon in Hillsboro dist.. good luck..

I worked at Michigan Sugar in Sebewaing, MI back in 06 and 07. Their pilers used swing gates and required a person on each gate to direct the truck. Their pilers were also built slightly larger to accommodate for the 11 axle Michigan doubles. There were also a couple of older smaller pilers with fixed drive around gates for the smaller 1 and 2 axle trucks. At the time they had 15 pilers plus the main Hopper and two sets of scales one at the main south entrance and one at the eastern entrance. The factory has been continuously running since 1902.

Tell the loader to keep your beets a foot below the sidewall & it will be your last shift on that farm. And the truck operator is driving one handed? Guess safety didn't vet the video

If you are looking to haul for the farms hit up Craigs list at the end of july- aug ( They harvest aug 15 till the first of sept) If you want to work all winter Aug-april call someone at transystems. They move all those piles to the hopper.

I'd suggest googling beet producers in the area you'd like to work. Contact the producer directly.
