Cool guy, watching amateurs learning the ropes is just as fun as watching the pros.
Brock gave some very good information in a previous video (at an undisclosed location:) on how to launch a stock wheel base bike. I would also STRONGLY SUGGEST watching a few Rickey Gadson videos. Stretched or stock in my option he is one of the very best.
*clutch burning*
"It's warm enough. We'll talk about it"😂
I just started as well. I joined a group of racers who rented the track for a day ($2000 /10 people = $200 per person) I got a lot of seat time. Made 21 passes. Well worth it.
With a new rider on a stock/SWB bike, I typically advise against doing a burnout unless they start to spin. It's really not necessary at this point and just adds confusion when there is a lot yet to learn. Concentrate on one thing at a time then move on. Don't even worry about R/T yet, just work on slipping the clutch and getting a smooth consistent launch.
Agree 100% for someone just starting out. And really I've been running my Busa for years with no real burn out. Use a Shinko ultra soft. I just do a dry hop next to the water to knock the gravel off the tire. Works fine...
What do you expect? Newbies teaching newbies.....
@@omieboriboun9862 Yeah... I didn't want to say it. But I'm glad someone did. And really like many of these videos. It a fair amount of it was a Brock's commercial. Not taking anything away from Brock. But we all know he's out there.
First and foremost, shout-out from Japan. Omi you guys make the perfect team. The way the two of you play off one another and understand one another shows how much love you have for one another. I wish you guys all the success in the world. Watching your vids is like watching a movie. The quality is phenomenal... I pray that this whole tax thing goes away and you're able to remain a free man 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾.
Great video love the Busa's haven't rode mine this year been on my Kal and teaching some females to ride on my honda shadow it's a fun bike to teach on. Prior to 08 I was on a drag bike race team. I like that you guys are at the track back in the day 30 plus years ago the streets of hard knocks is how we came up, find a spot and go for it. Now a days I'm low and slow but don't get it twisted I can still lay down a few good passes
I think Cycle Drag is really doing justice for the sport.
I like all of the enthusiasm from all the folks out there doing it safe and fun too!!
Al
Nice video ' J ' 👍😊 . Great to see someone help newbies at the game 😄 AWESOME 👍👍
George's shifting is very good! He does it very quickly!
This is a fun video, George will improve quick. He definitely needs guide, good thing you were there.
On an August day in beautiful southern California ~ does a stock wheelbase bike need a burnout ?
It’s pretty awesome, always can use some knowledge tips!
I enjoyed this!…He has a great attitude and will be kicking ass in no time!
Was on a drag bike team in the 90's Great Memories!
Great video Jack. It's probably 40 years since I've gone down a drag strip, and that was in my '68 Camaro. I've never done it on a bike but would love to take my '88 GSX1100F down the strip a time or two if I get a chance some day.
Love this video 👍🏽👍🏽. No shame in being a noob. Won’t be long till these guys n gals will be hanging with the vet racers. Seat time is where it’s at.
@CycleDrag I also have a stock 19 Busa I’d love to come out to the track with you and George one day.
Great Video 👏👏👌🏻👍
Powercommander is a good start. ECU flash would eliminate throttle plate and ignition restrictions, especially per-gear restrictions and top end power.
Very smooth launch. Nice Gorge
That's what's up!!! This is very informative. OH!!! Where can you go online and practice on the tree?
Oh man it flies ,and the bug says quit poking on me😎
A stock lowered Hayabusa should easily get into the mid 8s in the thousand foot. Brock's pipe sounds good!
A lot of positive!!! Good stuff!!! The bug we call Peach Tree Beetles. As a kid that's what we use to see them eat. Don't know the correct name or scientific name.
You mention a lot of mods but never a quick shifter, which is going to make a huge difference in overall time. yes Brock Brock Brock, but a quick shifter will do more...
Once again...cycledrag.com....rocks
strap and 48t sprocket are best bolt-ons to get novice in the 9's
Tips for the burnout, hold the brake and give it more revs then drop the clutch.
Hey Jack when are you going to come to Scotland? We have one drag strip with no prep and it can be a bit cold but its good fun.
You guys in the US are so lucky to have strips all over the place.
I'd love to come. If you can hook me up with a promoter who wants to bring me over, I'll do it!
CycleDrag You will always be welcome here. Keep up the good work. I admire your passion and enthusiasm and until i can find a promoter i will keep watching your channel for all the latest features and inspiration.
Please forgive my ignorance. What is the benefit of strapping down the front forks? Does it alter fore and aft weight distribution, or stabilise it during hard acceleration?
When you launch you need to get the front end off of the ground. For my bike a good launch is being able to shift into 2nd gear while the front end is still off of the ground.
Where can I get some cycledrag stickers?
17:20. This is the first sign of not being ready for the track. 😂😅
For your burn out
Go around the water back up until your heels are in the water Don’t spin the tire in the water it throws water on your fairings that can drip onto the tire
Then pull out into a clean space Stand up off the seat start your burnout as you slowly sit back on the seat when the tire gets hot you’ll feel it pulling you up to the line
Great video it’s about as real life as it gets I can’t tell you how many test and tunes and see people learning just as you guys are no one starts out like. Pro
Perfect description of how the burn out should be done. And as you mentioned. I tell every newbe. We all did it for the first time too...
I like this with 20/43 ratio
Amber light 1 (0.5 seconds delay) then amber light 2 (another 0.5 seconds delay) then amber light 3 (another 0.5 second delay) then the green light. Don't wait for green light - go on the second amber. It takes most people about 0.65 seconds to get the clutch engaged, get the bike moving and trigger the start timing light with the front wheel. Launching the bike on the second amber should get a reaction time (the time between when the green start light illuminates to when the front wheel triggers the timing start beam of your race) of about 0.150 seconds (150 thousands of a second).
I've been doing this a LONG time. I wait a split second on the third yellow or go red. You should be feeling the clutch. And let it pull you into the second light. Then you're not looking for the point it engages. You are at that point. Ease the clutch out as you twist your wrist.
That's a great technique to get a good reaction time and start for the pro tree light as well as normal start lights. .
I think he did good for a rookie he didn't Bark the bike out the hole with the clutch mod he'll be able to get better hole shots
What ever happened to George? I know he was in an accident and heard he was in a coma but haven’t heard anything since then.
Hope all is well with him 🙏🏽
He’s fine!
George doesn't need a burnout...
George dud ok....but definitely need to learn how to burn out and put some heat in his rear. Nothing too severe, and may be dropping his rear pressure..
awww u guys made such a cute couple 🤔
M A G I C
Get a clutch mod and add three heavier clutch springs
He should have lined up where the car tread tires are
Please advise why you chose this instead of zx-14r?
Way more mods available for the busa then zx14
@@KoreyByrne Thank you.
I ride and should allows have the proper safety gear unless you like a lot of pain.
Never go out without your full leathers on
Do your burnouts in 2nd gear not first
Guess I better get full leathers 120mph is slowwwww
Add 10 pounds on the front fork down low it helps a lot to keep the front down, but not more than 10 pounds it starts to slow you down.
that busa bike should turn a 9.4 ET right from the showroom floor on a freeze cold night, yea looks heat played a role in the ET, , never know he could have had a full tank of gas
Nah, Richard Gadson did a 7.70 in a SWB competition with stock pipes....
@@omieboriboun9862 no stock busa will run faster than a 9.3 in 1/4 mile from the showroom...to run a 7.7 it needs heavy engine work , stretching , turbo or nitrous..maybe youre thinking 1/8 mile track?
@@cheeesefunnel there is multiple videos on RUclips of fully stock gen 2s doing 8s full stock pipes all stock. Comes down to rider
It’s a June bug
He needs to lower his bike extremely bad 🙏🏽
omg
I'd wear some real pants
That was a lame ass burn-out.he acted like he was scared of it !
That guy is sketch
