    Since it's calcium, the clay is NOT acidic. You mean it's basic. Otherwise you'd just be putting acid into acid, that doesn't neutralize anything.

    3 things about this mask from someone who's been using it for six months:
    1. Do not mix it with water. The ph will be too high if you mix it with water. That is why you must use it with acv. You will get used to the smell.
    2. As you said at the beginning, acv contains AHAs. AHAs are chemical exfoliants. With any chemical exfoliant product you will get a little worse before you get better. This is called purging and it is the blocked pores that you may not have even known were blocked coming forward and then healing. After the purging stage (give it about a month) this will no longer happen. The pimples are not new they are just newly noticeable. Once the purging stage has finished less new ones will form.
    3. This mask is meant to be used once a week. Not three times a week on the nose. You can use it more as a spot treatment but that means spot treatment, not the general area of the spot. You also cannot spot treat blackheads. They're more of a slow, wait for them to clear out process. The reason your nose is getting dry is because you are using it way too much (and if I remember correctly, against the instructions on the box), not because the product is itself too drying.

      Paige C what if i use it with rose water or with acv without mother, wouod it work the same?

    • @roanc3709
      @roanc3709 6 лет назад +24

      Phoebe Phoebe rose water is not acidic enough to counteract the clay so it is likely that it will be too basic (remember we're not just using things at the right ph for the skin, were using things that will neutralise and end up at the right ph) and damage your skin. ACV without the mother I'm not too sure, but the mother itself has benefits for skin so you want to include it anyway.

      Nia_Athena mud masks can be quite drying so you'd have to be careful if your have dry skin (maybe just use it on problem areas). And no I don't think you can mix it with anything else. I can't think of any skin safe things that are acidic enough

    One thing to remember is clay masks draw things out. If you have a pimple under the skin that's not visible yet it may pull it to the surface quicker and make it seem like your breaking out. In my experience the first few uses "broke me out" but after using it regularly I have great results. That's why it's not recommended to use clay masks before you have something big to do.

The mask really take all your impurities and make your skin feel soft and smooth instantly. If u have acne, the mask help dried-out your acne and reduce your acne size. Or if u have acne or oil bumps that about come out from your skin, the mask will help take them out on 1-2 days right after.

    The pulsating feels like a heartbeat; the mask pulls a bunch of blood to the surface so you should be able to feel your heart pumping it through the veins in your face. That's also why your skin gets so so red if you leave it on for 20 minutes (I look like a tomato after I use that mask). All that blood being there is really good because it gives extra oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells so they'll be healthier

    *TIP (PLEASE try this…): When the mask is mostly/completely dry, and it’s time for you to remove the clay mask (IF you have trouble removing the dried clay and/or if it’s painful/it causes discomfort)… Grab a “microfiber cloth” (vs. using just water & ur hands), soak it w/ warm/hot water (whichever u prefer) then, hold the cloth w/ both hands & press it onto your face (to re-moisten the clay) for a little bit, or until you feel like your face is not as tight anymore from the dried clay. Then, re-soak/remove remaining clay pieces from the cloth , and start “very gently” wiping away the mask then, repeat these two steps until all of the clay is gone. I’ve done it the hard way w/ my hands & water, and it was uncomfortable/slightly painful, very time consuming, more messy, and left my skin red! Using this new method (skeptically & reluctantly, at 1st), I avoided all of those problems, and it was completely painless & hassle-free!! As for the vinegar smell… There’s no fixing that, sorry (lol)! BUT, I’ve seen/heard that you could adjust the ratio of vinegar w/ “water” (preferably “filtered or distilled”) to lessen the pungency; ie: (if using equal parts; p/ instructions) 1/2Tbsp.-Clay (+) “(Substitute 1/2Tbsp.-Vinegar w/…) 1/4Tbsp.-Vinegar (+) 1/4Tbsp.-Water”!!?? Good luck, and I hope this helps!!❤️

      Krissy Aguilar everyone’s skin is different. Some products work better for others and some don’t. I work at Massage Envy and have to take training courses for the therapists and esthetician services. If after usually 3-4 uses and you don’t see any improvement in your skin, it’s best to stop the usage. Especially if it causes a serious reaction. Because from what I’ve seen first hand on myself, it took about 3 routine facials to clear up my skin. Idk if that helps!!

    Why would face masks have to be a “sexy product” to use? That makes no sense. This product honestly was not used correctly which therefore wasn’t much beneficial. I wouldn’t recommend using this everyday because of how strong the products are.. and the “pulsating” feeling happens when it’s digging down to the pores, so if you didn’t feel it, it wasn’t on long enough. In all honesty, the product is suppose to leave your face pretty red since it’s basically sucking up all the blood towards the top layer of the skin and speed up the production of collagen. Your skin wasn’t red at all which didn’t give the best results. I didn’t like this review, it wasn’t accurate. But nice to see you giving it a go.

      Paige C then why does the container itself have a choice between apple cider vinegar and water?

    • @roanc3709
      @roanc3709 6 лет назад +2

      strawberry creme I'm not sure but it is incorrect. If you were to get a ph meter and measure the ph of the mask mixed with water it would be at a too high ph for your skin. Water itself is too high a ph, hence why toners exist. Your skin, and any skin products that are not immediately washed off and followed by a toner (so a mask that stays on your face would fit here) should be at a pH of around four. Water is pH 7 (although tap water can be higher depending on where you live) I believe the mask is 8/9. You need to mix it with something acidic, and acv is the best fit.

    • @Elinorah
      @Elinorah 5 лет назад +12

      @@roanc3709 So wrong your information! The clay is alkaline, and the acv is acidic. The addition of acv is so that the clay is neutral. And a subtance that is acidic is 1-6 in the ph scale, 7 neutral and 8-14 is alkaline. So how is tap water alkaline???? And toners exist because the cleaners change the ph in the skin, not because of the water. Informe yourself first!!!

    • @roanc3709
      @roanc3709 5 лет назад +5

      Berenice Marquez your skin is at a ph of around 4-5. 7, the ph of pure deionised water, is obviously too high. However, tap water is not pure water. It has things dissolved in it, whether intentionally or just from wherever it comes from, so it can sometimes have a ph slightly higher than 7 due to impurities. Impurities could also lower the ph but th impurities often found in tap water usually increase it. This is even worse than the high ph of 7 for your skin, which, again, needs to remain at a ph of around 4-5. The clay is not neutral once you mix with acv. You don't want neutral. You want around 4-5, because you don't want to disrupt the ph of your skin. You are right however that mixing with water will create an alkaline mask as the clay is basic (basic, not alkaline. Solids cannot be alkaline). I am informed, you would realise that if you fact checked yourself.

And it's also worth to remember that people with sensitive skin shouldn't let it dry, because it cause more damages. And the best type for sensitive skin is red or rose clay. And it's obvious that you take it of with warm water.

    Tina, the idea behind bentonite clay masks is to dry up sebum and clean out impurities. So that means, the impurities are going to surface first 😕 = pimple/pustule on lipline. The mask is not exfoliating so you probably won't see smoother skin, you should see less impurities. I don't recommend the apple cider vinegar for you or anyone with sensitive to dry skin. For your skin, I would recommend 60% water and 40% clay, then apply with fingers thinly across skin. The spatula you used to apply mask left a much thicker amount which made it harder to dry and be more effective. You can add more clay the next time for a 55 water/45 clay ratio. Once you have a pustule, you should gently break the surface with a clean disinfected pin and remove debris. I am masochistic with pustules and place an alcohol pad directly on it after expressing it. It stings but the sting lets me know it's doing the job. Whatever works for you is good. You mentioned recent breakouts...these pimples are in hormonal areas so it's possible (or probable) your hormones were running higher than usual, or higher at an expected time. Being an esthetician, I usually wind up in education mode quickly, and am honestly not trying to be preachy or pushy (even if this post comes across that way). I really enjoy your personality, channel, and the great info you impart to us all. Best wishes. 😊💚

      1030ct this mask is not supposed to be used every day, you can use it like twice a week but it is not a daily mask. It’s too drying for the skin to be used every day. I use it once or twice a week depending on how my skin has been and if I’ve been sweating a lot.

    Hey there, i am indian and I would like to tell you that any sort of clay you use for facepack, it is important to know that you should mix it with the ingredients according to your skin type. If you have oily skin, water or curd or Apple cidar vinegar would be helpful. If you have dry skin, then you should mix the honey with it to have the better results. The main work that does any indian clay is that it soaks up oil and toxins from your face and makes it more clear. But it clearly cannot remove blackheads. Because they are not meant for that

    this is truly my favorite clay mask ever! I've literally had it in my house my whole life, because it was something that my mom's grandma gave her from her beauty salon and it truly works wonders ... it is definitely one of the most powerful clay face masks I've ever used to this day. I recommend using it with apple cider vinegar (and not water) which makes the consistency more powerful if you have dry sensitive acne prone skin like myself you will love this! it drys out pimples, tightens skin and unclogs pores I would say to minimize facial movements because this mask dries tight!!( also use a lip balm with it because it's a little bit drying) it's been in my house for years and you can definitely get way way more then 10 to 15 uses like she says here😂 well I'm going to go write this review on Amazon LOL just thought I might let people I know that this is a really great mask from my experience lmao😂😂

    Hi Tina, just a small suggestion.
    1) for dry skin = mix it with yoghurt and rose water and don't let it dry completely.
    2) for oily skin/normal skin = mix it with rose water and let it dry completely.
    Also, you need to apply a thin mask so that it dries quickly.
    People in India mix this clay with other powders too like sandalwood, neem or turmeric based on the type of skin or the treatment required.
    Also since it is not a peel of mask, it needs to be washed with water.
    Hope you don't have any more breakouts. Cheers!

    I loooveee this clay. I use it with 1 part water, 1 part ACV, so it still works but is less harsh and smelly. I have flaky, oily skin with acne, and I leave it on for 30 minutes. After washing it off, I use a toner and then immediately moisturize. After all, it is clay, so it dries out your skin a lot and you need to moisturize. It's significantly improved my acne! I use it 2-3 times a week.
    Also, try not to move your face *at all* when wearing it because it itches like a mofo when you do lol

Some people also use this as an under arm or foot detox mask. Lady’s and gentlemen, I have tried this method for my skin and so did a friend of mine! Now the question is does it work.... yes it does!!! But before you try it just a little heads up, don’t think it will give you an immediate result. I started doing this once a week for about a month, and I noticed that my skin was getting worse and worse so I thought I’d stop because. I didn’t think it was working but then I thought I’ll try it for a little longer, but maybe use it twice a week. And what a difference it made eventually my skin cleared right up and went from a oily combination to a normal! I wondered as to why it was making my skin worse and that’s because the treatment was pulling all the toxins out of my skin! Definitely add some activated charcoal and some coconut oil to the mix and you’ll be laughing!!! Xx

    This mask definitely helps skin types that are more oily, acne prone and best to use with organic ACV like Bragg's if you have it in your area. Adding a thicker layer to the skin really helps bring out all the toxins, and blemishes you may have. I usually keep it on for about 30mins that's my preference and always helps my skin renew it's self. Another amazing mask you could try is Neem's Clay Mask it dries down much softer and the herbs in it definitely help exfoliate your skin. Hopefully this helps someone out :)

      lisa nelson it's not that good. Firstly this is meant to be done once a week. Maybe a couple of times as a spot treatment but you shouldn't just plaster if on your nose three times a week. It even says on the instructions. Secondly you can't see the benefit of any skincare product in a week, especially ones with an exfoliating effect like this does as they have a purging period where it appears to get worse (it doesn't). She should have done this mask once a week for at least a month before reviewing it.

    why nobody ever speaks about drying effects of any clay mask? it can be used on oily or maybe normal skin. if you have dry or sensitive skin - DO NOT try clay mask, it will irritate your skin badly. and never - NEVER - let a clay mask fully dry on your face, it will drain all moisture you've had from your skin.

    I have been using Calcium Bentonite Clay mask for about 3 years now (not this particular brand), and my blackheads are all gone now. I used to have quite a lot blackheads, but after using this mask for about 6 months, I barely have any, so if this is your problem, I would recommend it to you. I have not noticed any difference in my pores (I have big pores) or my acne, which is what this type of products are sold for, I mean, yes, your pores look smaller right after you take it off since is a tightening mask, but it's not a long terms stuff. However, I had not found it painful or uncomfortable to take off, the only noticeable things are that it is super itchy, since makes your face really tight, also, is quite drying, but that is not a problem for me since I have oily skin, plus, it makes my skin super soft, but if you are on the dry side, I would recommend you to use a good moisturizer. P.S: this stuff last an eternity, I use mine monthly or twice per month, and I have 3 years using the same pot (200 gr). P.S2: I have extremely sensitive skin, so I mixed it in with only water.

      your face gets itchy and dry because you use it with water. the ph of the mask is too high and if you mix it with water it will remain too high and damge your skin, causing those symptoms. using acv will mean it is at the right ph and will not damage your skin or make it itchy. i know it doesnt sound right but mixing it with water is too harsh and mixing it with acv is more gentle.

      Actually, make lots of sense. Anyway, ACV is too pricey here in my country :( but I will try it like that one day, for sure! thx.

    The Indian healing clay mask is such a huge staple for me. I have extremely dry skin and although the mask is drying I follow up with my moisturizer right after and that tends to keep it from starting to flake. I use the mask as TLC. Last night I used it after wearing lots of heavy makeup because my skin has not been used to stage makeup. The mask definitely brings everything to the surface which does tend to surface breakouts every now and then but it works wonders once everything is out as long as you continue use about once a week.

    Hlw Tina ....I m from India ... personally I want to say that...the clay is not use for blackhead ...but it is use for dry up the pimple and acne and for sweating season for coolness only ...it mix with raw milk not with vinegar

  • @darkdistiller

    Skin tends to be around 5.5 making it slightly acidic. So you don't necessarily want your skin to be at a 7 which is neutral pH. And just like another comment said, the clay will be basic, and the vinegar will be acidic. 2 acids don't neutralize acidity. Depending on how much of each there is will depend on the final pH. So using a toner after you wash this off should probably be used to get the pH of your skin back to normal levels.

    Tina you should have not used vinager. You should use milk or rose water. Us indians have been using it for years

      Paige C actually if your skin is sensitive you shouldn't be using apple cider vinegar at all it'll dry out your skin and you might start to even break out.

    I use this mask with apple cider vinegar and tumeric and it has done wonders for my skin. Try using an apple cider vinegar with mother, so it still has all the nutrients. The one you used looks like its been filtered. I used it every day for 7 days to detox the skin then twice a week since I have oily skin. Its best not to let the mask dry fully as this draws out all of the natural oils and goodness from your skin

    It's called Multani mitti. U r supposed to use it with water or rose water( turmeric is optional) .it has the natural smell of clay n doesn't stink. It doesn't have any faul smell as u say. Ppl with dry skin should use it less though. One of the best ways to treat ur skin naturally.
    Do try to use the things the way they r used in their traditional way else u will not see the results of it.there is a reason y these things r still famous.

      Manisha Reddy not true. fuller's earth typically consists of palygorskite or bentonite. please educate yourself before correcting people so strongly.

    Been using this for 2 years and it CAN be drying if you use it on its own. Best routine I've found is twice a week max, plus always tone and moisturize after. In colder months I add a hydrating sheet mask. Works great 😊

    This mask is SUPER powerful! I accidently slept with it on once and I woke up at like 2am in the morning crying cus it was so tight and i took it off and there were like what looked like scratches on the bottom of my chin. So, it literally tore my skin apart it so powerful! DO NOT LEAVE ON ANY LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES GUYS!!
