Sorry for the bad experience. A backup loctician is vital, or self retie, it’s easier than you may think Sis. I’ve been loc’d 5 yearsC I have a backup and have since learned to self retie. It’s sad how some of us own business’s and don’t take it serious and take clients for granted, knowing we can go elsewhere. I have zero tolerance for it. Anyway nonetheless they look good. Welcome to the loc family! May your experiences be better throughout your journey. I’ve never had any bad experiences as far as my sisterlocks, but encourage all loc’d Queens & Kings to have a backup or DIY. 💕

Thank you so much Sistar! I definitely need to learn how to do my own reties just in case 😊

To prevent water from hitting my edges in the shower, I wear a sweatband around my hairline and nape! Then shower cap. Because slippage is discouraging and NOT fun. Maybe try black sweatbands in case lint is a problem.

I stumbled on your video looking for DIY mircoloc videos and you have made my day. Hilarious, but very informative information.

I'm in the starting stages of my braidlocs and my hair is about 3 inches and super fine and curly I have very minimum slippage. As a stylist I suggest you lay off of the water a good bit if possible it'll definitely help you.

This video was in my beginner stage, I stopped spritzing with water after this happened. Thank you for the suggestion 😊

Video suggestion: how did you locate your microlock loctician? What questions did you ask? Did you go to a salon or house?

That's the only reason why I don't like locs...having to depend on someone else to do my hair. But it looks great!

you can definitely do them yourself if you ever look to explore them in the future (not sister locks technically but you can do microlocs)! it is tedious tho 🥴 i enjoy getting all my hand-in-hair syndrome out in one go every 2 months tho so i think its worth it 😂

Im a new subbie, love them at the short stage, i think the problem was is that she used a crochet hook, has your hair ever did that again since you have used a new tool on your hair?

My hair is just like yours. Do rubber band method when shampoo or just let her shampoo. I reti my own but when they get longer I will let someone else do it. I never wait five weeks I do every three weeks max. This time I'm going to try reti every five weeks and shampoo every two months.
