I have no idea but it would be a great series of vids or even to have a little tally at the end of each vid about what you got on what type of day. Keep it up brother.
Any day is a good day for fishing. How about a vid on how you set up your drift? What size jigheads and plastics you use in certain depths/currents, what to look for on your sounder etc. Loving the channel mate.
There are guys who spends hours studying moon charts, tides, air pressure and stuff. On the other hand, there are guys who takes rod and reel outside and cath fish. Simple as that! :)
One of the best videos I've seen in a while. Love the raw emotion, and the honesty. Good to see us fishos share the same anxiety of breaking the donut, no matter our experience. In regards to phases and the almanac, I think the help the confidence and perhaps help the odds. But you will almost definitely catch fish if you find the patch, at the right time of day/tide, and present the right bait or lure in front of their nose.
Awesome video Sammy !! I am loving the constant uploads and new videos Sammy !! Thanks for the hard work and dedication you put into making these videos for us Sammy !! Keep up the amazing work Sammy !! Cheers William !!
Your always better off with a line in the water having a go rather than sitting at home, my pb snapper came on a 2500 with 10lb braid and 18lb leader, went 75cm in Moreton bay.
Awesome session Sammy! Snapper on light gear with artificial lures is so sweet when the almanac says ´no bites‘ !!! You do exactly all the styles of fishing that I love most. Keep on doing what you’re doing! Best fishing vids from in Oz by far. 👍
My kids and I are learning about fishing, boating, and making you tube videos. Thanks for the great video I am subscribing so we can keep up and learn from your work.
Great stuff Sammy. Love your honesty mate. Most blokes would have kept being done in the bottom to themselves. Hope the spikes weren't too brutal. cheers mate.
If a line is not in the water you'll never catch fish. The best advice I have been given is fish when there is tidal movement in the water. I fish Estuary & river. I do consult my Solunar charts but, like you, I have caught fish on the Poor days. I have also NOT caught fish on the Excellent days. A great video. The Little Green Monster was looking over my shoulder while I watched it.
Well I think it's safe to say that you smashed it mate low activity what do they know right they probably spend all their time on the couch 😉 nice work Sam got some nice fish keep up the good work 👍🎣
Deadline hahah cheers mate, wish I had a beer for the fillet session, but glad you took care of business for me 💪💪 Haha I reckon I’ll aim for 50k and see how we go!
Might be your last trip for a while hey sammy just seen a post no more boating as it’s not essential not happy didn’t even get to get out there on 7 news tonight
Hi Sammy, love this episode. Good vibes as per usual. You mentioned the fisherman's almanac in the beginning. I've tried to find the site but I can't find it. Would you have a link by any chance please?
Great vid as usual Sammy. Can I ask, what area and depth are you fishing? I tend to fish off Mooloolaba and find a lot of water between fish lately . Thanks again for the great videos and tips
Hey Sammy, enjoying your videos. I'm in Victoria near Warrnambool but I lived in Darwin for a number of years and miss the fishing up there. Anyway mate just want to know what camera mount you are using in this video. It seems to stay nice and steady as the boat moves around. Thank mate, keep that line wet dude!
Sammy, that fish sells in Toronto Canada for CDN$ 7.99 -9.9/lb.We get a few varieties. Mango Snapper or Red Snapper are my faves. By the way, you are the man. Utter thuggery. Good on ya.
Nice work mate i live in northern subs of brisbane and always get donuts unless i travel to Sunny Coast or fraser coast, where in the bay is a good area to try
Hey Sammy. Sick vid as usual! Hey can I ask a question? I notice your running external mic’s on your go pros. Have you had any issues with a hiss over the audio? I’m running a rode videomicro on my hero 8 with the GoPro adapter and I can hear it in quiet conditions. Thought you might have a view. Cheers man. Keep it up ;)
Adrift Fishing hey mate, cheers! The only time I can hear a hiss is when my mic’s are connected. Usually as a result of some corrosion on the plugs from the salt water. Other then that, even in the wind they are usually really good 👍
Great vid mate. Would love to know more like are you casting ahead of the drift? How deep and are you marking fish and then drifting them or just drifting known reef areas? 🤙
I was going to ask exactly the same thing - you saved me the trouble. I am not even in Australia, let alone SE Queensland, so I'm not familiar with the area. It looks completely featureless out there, no reason to stop and start fishing.
I learned a long time ago that you fish when you have the opportunity. You never know when you will have that catch of a liftime when you go or can for sure get skunked if you stay home
Bloody good day out Sammy. By the way, when you said you were out of beer my first thought was "Is Graham in town again?" I'd be checking to see where he is mate :)
Hey sammy my opinion on the video mate. #1 you are a seasoned fisherman. Myself well im not any good but have been in the same boat as a seasoned fisherman who out fished me 9 vs 0 same lures same line leaders ect skill plays a big part of getting shut down fish to turn on and im sure you have a few tricks up your sleeve. #2 location. From my time holding a rod ive found offshore always fishs better regaurdless than an estuary. Maybe to do with water movement ect? Also you know and fish locations you have found being the seasoned fisher you are they probably have little to no fishing pressure. Have a good champ 🎣
Yeah I wouldn't Disagree with too much of that, but at the end of the day if the fish don't feel like feeding its hard to get them to bite. Sometimes we get a lot luckily then others and they fish are chewing!
Hi Sammy. Myth busted mate. Just a question. You are fishing on your own in Moreton Bay. How big is your boat in length? I stop at Macleay Island as soon as i see open water. My boat is a 2018 Stacer 4.29 runabout with a 50 hp yamaha 4 stroke on the back. Do you think this type of boat would be safe in the bay in calm weather. I never leave the southern Moreton Bay Islands and the fish look tempting up that way. Any advice would be appreciated. Keep up the great videos.
G'day mate, Yes I fish Moreton bay solo all the time, as well as a lot further offshore. your 4.3 would be fine on a good day. Just need to pick the right weather. My boat is 5.6m long. Cheers!
How do you find the locations mate? Been searching online but the spots are all crap, no fish even on the sounder. Can you give us an hints? Im in SEQ as well. Cheers
Get a marine chart and check the depth lines and contours, also go ask some trawler operators if they know of any hookup or wreck locations// above all that get a great fishfinder and plow the waters for rubble patches
Hey man i wanted to ask you where you get your face/neck protections from. I really need them for sea fishing but the thing is I can't really find any good ones.
Sammy Hitzke Fishing I thought the current had been ripping through the bay but you obviously got your plastic down there fine and got the fish! Very good vid
Definitely busted. must be the quality of fishermen 😀😃😀😃 epic stuff even with the camera issues. 👍👍👍👍 if you get a full moon just fish the night or super early like 3am to sun rise.
Legends! What do you reckon?? Myth busted or what?!?
So good Sammy
I have no idea but it would be a great series of vids or even to have a little tally at the end of each vid about what you got on what type of day. Keep it up brother.
Epic! What depth reefs were these on?
Its just the prediction, not 100% true. Fish bite just depends on current and air pressure, different spots need different current.
Any day is a good day for fishing. How about a vid on how you set up your drift? What size jigheads and plastics you use in certain depths/currents, what to look for on your sounder etc. Loving the channel mate.
Love your style letting the cod go to conserve the quality of the reefs . Beautiful Sammy 👌🏻🙌🏻
Jamie D Cheers mate, they have a pretty important role on the reefs seems wrong to keep them for the sake of it!
There are guys who spends hours studying moon charts, tides, air pressure and stuff. On the other hand, there are guys who takes rod and reel outside and cath fish. Simple as that! :)
HeavyWeight Fishing I’d rather get out there and have a crack! Any excuse for a fish 💪🍻🍻
One of the best videos I've seen in a while. Love the raw emotion, and the honesty. Good to see us fishos share the same anxiety of breaking the donut, no matter our experience. Brett Howie bloody oath mate! That’s a cracking snap by the way 👌👌
Another epic vid Sammy!!! Keen to hear more about the rods and reels you use. Love it 🤙
Awesome session Sammy! Snapper on light gear with artificial lures is so sweet when the almanac says ´no bites‘ !!!
You do exactly all the styles of fishing that I love most. Keep on doing what you’re doing! Best fishing vids from in Oz
by far. 👍
Oh thanks mate! really Appreciate the kind words! Cheers!
So much for a low activity day! You caught heaps!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Great stuff mate. As a very ordinary fisherman myself, I appreciate how you catch and release after you have your feed.
Nothing stops The Saminator! Love your work ledgehammer.
Richard Anderson haha I get lucky from time to time mate! Cheers mate, appreciate it 🍻🍻
Crab claw coming out the bumhole 😂 poor bugger.
Another cracking vid though Sammy. Showing us all how it’s done. Good stuff
Hahah yeah that's gotta sting! Cheers mate!
Every fishing day lately seems to be a low activity day for me but it is always nice to get out on the water
Two weeks either side of the full moon is the best time to go fishin
As light as possible is always best. That’s a fact. It also makes the day more fun.
Tiger Budgie surely does! Raises the stakes doesn’t it 🍻🍻
My kids and I are learning about fishing, boating, and making you tube videos. Thanks for the great video I am subscribing so we can keep up and learn from your work.
Glad you guys are enjoying them!
Great vid, how come I always have a low activity day ha ha thanks love watching, cheers
Sammy, 40 yrs ago my Granddad said "always fish as light as possible"........might be something in that. Great vids mate, cheers
Your humour is sometimes very interesting, but you are a legend sammy.
Mate I love the way you go of the cuff
Awesome mate👍👍👍
Great stuff Sammy. Love your honesty mate. Most blokes would have kept being done in the bottom to themselves. Hope the spikes weren't too brutal. cheers mate.
Victor Bitter 😂😂😂 I was waiting to see if anyone would pick up on that. I heard it in the editing and thought “this will be good!” 😂😂😂
If a line is not in the water you'll never catch fish. The best advice I have been given is fish when there is tidal movement in the water. I fish Estuary & river. Hi Sammy, love this episode.
Good vibes as per usual. You mentioned the fisherman's almanac in the beginning. I've tried to find the site but I can't find it. Would you have a link by any chance please?
Hey sammy wat a good morning on a low fish day cant wait for the next one I had a beer for ya mate
Calvin Pearce cheers mate! Glad someone had a beer for me! 🍻🍻
Excelnt video mait.how dip is the reef at the snaper fishing drift?
I see you hardly move the rod while fishing, was most of the bites on the drop ?
Great vid as usual Sammy. Can I ask, what area and depth are you fishing? I tend to fish off Mooloolaba and find a lot of water between fish lately . Thanks again for the great videos and tips
Cheers Allan! mate got these between 15-20m. There was bait holding in the area so I think that definitely helped!
What I love about your videos is that you are full of energy and excitement :) .. Can you tell me your set up as I like the action of this rod
Thanks mate! Really Appreciate it! Its an Amped II rod and 3000 shimano stella
What do you look for on your sounder for snapper drift
Sammy, that fish sells in Toronto Canada for CDN$ 7.99 -9.9/lb.We get a few varieties. Mango Snapper or Red Snapper are my faves. By the way, you are the man. Utter thuggery. Good on ya.
Michael Mage yeah nice! They sell for heaps more over here in Australia!! Cheers legend🍻🍻
Great stuff , Fish still have to eat .But in deep water I think it is different. I go by barometric pressure !
Yeah barometric pressure plays a big part I reckon!
Lots of donuts for me ,while my son does not miss. Go figure? Love your work.
He must be holding his tongue right! cheers!
great vid
Jimmy's Fishing 101 cheers mate 🍻🍻
Hay Sammy we use 2500 series reels and p.e 1 for snapper over here in NZ for snapper,
Nice mate! Sounds like fun!
Nice work mate i live in northern subs of brisbane and always get donuts unless i travel to Sunny Coast or fraser coast, where in the bay is a good area to try
I Love your style letting the cod go to conserve the quality of the reefs .
Thanks mate! always important to look after your spots!
Love it @4:19 lol

The only time I can hear a hiss is when my mic’s are connected. Usually as a result of some corrosion on the plugs from the salt water. Other then that, even in the wind they are usually really good 👍
Thanks for that. Yeah salts good like that lol!
Cool man keep up the great entertainment!
This pretty much is the story of my life 😂🎣🤙
Some mate have all the luck but I know its not me, great fishing mate.
haha we all have our good days! Cheers mate!
Hey Sammy, Great video as always, I wanted to ask. How deep are you and what is the water temp during this session?
Cheers Daniel, about 15-20m mate and water temp was 27.5
Hey Sammy at the start of your video what's the app you are using for the fish activity ect.
I’ll make sure I include a bit more info in the next videos mate 👍👍 cheers! 🍻
I learned a long time ago that you fish when you have the opportunity. You never know when you will have that catch of a liftime when you go or can for sure get skunked if you stay home
Is this an old spot that you keep going to? What is the process of finding new fishing spots or areas to drift on? Thanks
Nice snapper mate
Why was it rated a low fish day Sammy? Low barometric pressure or no tidal movement?
It was low due to the solunar charts, so moon phase
My theory on fishing with tides and moon phases is don't worry about them fish when you can and if the water is still there you have a chance
Well done for this Channel, what is the depth of sea? do you let the lure touch the bottom ? thanks
Thanks mate, its abou 15-20m deep and yes i let the lure touch the bottom
What gear were you using mate in the first part of the vid like leader ect
Zac Kemp 30lb braid, 30lb leader, 5000 reel and pe2-3 rod 👍👍
I really enjoy your videos, can you make a videos on how to locate targeted fish
Thanks mate, Possibly in the future i'll do something like that
G'day mate. What was the website at the start of the video that showed the tides and 'fish activity'?
tides4fishing.com mate
The snapper are back well overdue Sammy .Are they the same winter spots sammy or would you go deeper during summer?
Jewyhunter Charlie I usually just look for the bait mate, I do find the deeper spots are pretty hard to fish in summer with the currents though 👍👍
Sammy Hitzke Fishing cheers Sammy .
Hey mate how long do you normally wait between jigging up your plastic? Do you let is sit on the bottom for a bit?
I like to let it sink and rest abit. Usually i'll just keep changing up the pauses until I get a hit and crack a pattern
Low activity my ass!! There is only low motivation to go out and fish days😎 Keep up the great vids Sammy from ATL Ga USA
Cheers mate! Appreciate it!
Someone just got your mark on that good snap hahaha
Peppi Poohductions- Waka’s hunt and fish bastards!
Bloody good day out Sammy. By the way, when you said you were out of beer my first thought was "Is Graham in town again?" I'd be checking to see where he is mate :)
Mick's South Aussie Adventures hahah maybe that’s where they all went! Bloody sneaky Graham had paid my beer fridge a visit!
What rod is the lighter one Sammy with the streakz on it
That's an Amped II rod, 10-20lb
Hey sammy my opinion on the video mate. #1 you are a seasoned fisherman. Myself well im not any good but have been in the same boat as a seasoned fisherman who out fished me 9 vs 0 same lures same line leaders ect skill plays a big part of getting shut down fish to turn on and im sure you have a few tricks up your sleeve. #2 location. Sammy whats the light gear setup
What rod were you using
What model Ocean Thug were you using in the larger combo?
Jeremy Summers the light casting mate, cracker rod!
@@SammyHitzkeFishing thanks for that. Have been keen on the Bone rods since your swains reef videos.
What colour softie are you using there Sammy, great video
Smokey Shad
Unfortunately the low fish ratings were true for my day but it was nice to see that you were getting on to some action 👍
Ben’s Bass’N’Barra oh no! Sorry to hear mate, keep it at them 💪💪
Certainly will Sammy, can’t wait for you and Johnny Costello to catch up in a video
Lighter lines are harder to see for the fish, better presentation. Its also way more fun.
@@fishpest2039 cheers mate, appreciate it
Yeah mate, what fishpest said as well as spending time driving around looking at the sounder. Trolling is when I find most of my spots 👍👍
But love watching 👍
Tell us more about ur fishing setups
And i am looking for ur recommendation for jigging gear if u have to choose between Catalina and twinpower?
A7madelsa3dany I haven’t tried the catalina’s mate, I love my twinpower though 👍
Did me in the bottom. 🤣 😂🤣😂
Do you think it’s better fishing on a low barometer or high , what’s your thought ?? 😊
Hey man wat editing software do u use I’m trying to get better at RUclips in my channel
VanqishCantAimYT _ Premiere pro mate 👍
Hey man i wanted to ask you where you get your face/neck protections from. I really need them for sea fishing but the thing is I can't really find any good ones.
Hey mate i got that one from Suzuki marine, plenty of them available online
Sammy Hitzke Fishing ok. Thx man
How deep were you fishing when you got them first couple fish?
Ryan Lahd 15m mate 👍
Sammy Hitzke Fishing I thought the current had been ripping through the bay but you obviously got your plastic down there fine and got the fish! Very good vid
"Damn, did me in the bottom" 😂
hahahaha i was waiting for someone to pick that up!
Nice! Have you seen them on the fish finder? how was the bottom? Depth? Good luck!
Yes I could see them on the fish finder. I was in 15-20m. Cheers!
Definitely busted. must be the quality of fishermen 😀😃😀😃 epic stuff even with the camera issues. 👍👍👍👍 if you get a full moon just fish the night or super early like 3am to sun rise.
hahah I can't claim all the credit, I reckon just got lucky! Cheers mate!
