Just played a game last night where I was making the dumbest mistakes. Watching this video had me nodding to myself saying 'This makes perfect sense!' I will keep these ideas in mind for my next game (where I inevitably make the same mistakes and not learn)
as someone who wants to get into the game, but have no one within an hour of me to play with this is nice to get a gist and not waste the first few training missions
Awesome, and happy to help! Have you looked up your local warcor? We're all over the place and can help you learn the game and connect with the community. You can find your local one here: maphub.net/CorvusBelli/corvus-belli-warcors Also, keep an eye for our next Academy video, it's going to a demo game which is similar to the official ones... but with a little bit of special sauce!
A golden rule that I follow is always make sure to waste your enemy's turn. Deploy your units so that your opponent has to confront them and it's not completing objectives making them waste their turns while you're not doing spending any actions is the best trade off
The last rule is the most important, the easiest way to lose is to tilt and have your moral crushed. I once had an avatar very nearly put me in retreat top of turn 1 yet I won the game because my opponent got bloodlust and forgot bullets didn’t win that mission, buttons did. Every defeat is a learning experience and when you first start you’ll lose more often than not but unlike other games you’ll see progression in your own play the more reps you get in.
If you feel yourself on tilt after the game, walk away, don't clean up or put mins away just walk away and do something else for 5 minutes that has nothing to do with the game then come back and clean up
@@thedicegodswg Our club is officially calling for infinity gamers to get in touch on Thursday. There's now 3 other people interested in trying it. Your 'how' to give a demo video was super helpful. I'm literally working on getting terrain sorted... cyberpunk RPG terrain is going to pull double duty for a while lol
Love this! I'm going to send this to new players before games. I swear by rule number 6. However especially against Raymon I tend to lose sight of rule 1 (and he vice versa).
Rule 6 is SO important! It seems obvious, but when the dice are flying and the AROs zipping overhead it can get lost... Really need to sort a game out with you two. Maybe, when we start doing batreps...?
The rule of cool, that's the first step. Take minis which you like. Find players who have a similar mindset and play the lighter missions, so supplies over biotechvore. That should be a good start!
@@thedicegodswg thank you! Been playing other wargames since 2009ish. And they all have become or were games that was "Win the game, that's all that matters" So I hope INF is the game that I can truly turn off my brain and just focus on the action in my head and the bs that happens from the randomness
@starmechs Infinity can be competitive... if you want to play it that way. But what it will always be cinematic. Those moments of pure action movie joy... that's what Infinity makes happen over and over. Its why I've been playing it for a decade now. Good luck on your adventure into the game.

This is the way.
(Also, love your videos! Thanks for spending some of your day watching ours)
@@thedicegodswg Glad to, your content is great! Keep it up!
I'm so thankful for this series. It is an absolute gem. Thank you so much for producing this.
A pleasure. Really pleased you're enjoying it and that it's useful.
Rule number 8: The one specific mini you need will not be available anywhere but a big collection box that you already have everything else from.
Oof. That sounds familiar!

Oooo exciting and I had scheduling issues previously hoping to jump in soon

100%, if they're burning their resources, you're in control!
Feel like this is great philosophy we will keep coming back to throughout the infinity journey. Thanks!
You're welcome. There's a revised version coming for N5 too...

100%, this all day. We've all got those stories, but isn't it a hard lesson to learn?! Thanks for watching.

Welcome back, big man.

Sure thing! I might have some time when I get back from holliday in October.

excellent video as usual - great for beginners
Thanks!
Amazing video! Thank you!
What kind of terrain is that btw? Looks great!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Most is Micro Art Studio. Check out our academy video on terrain setup for a better look. 😀
There's a rule called 'Don't Give Up' and you're not referencing the Gabriel/Bush duet? Seems a missed opportunity.
Alas we're trying to be "down with the kids" and "hip," so such a reference might age us slightly!
@@thedicegodswg by gum, these kids NEED some prog.
It's a compelling argument...

New player. Army CA. How can I play infinity for the fun, without focusing on winning? Any tips or ideas?

It's too quiet. Could you make it again but louder, I live near a road and I can't hear a thing :/
Thanks for the feedback.
