    Thank you Eric for all the videos & tips, yesterday I caught a 21" Walleye suspended in 80' of water on one of your jigging spoons (gold crush) using regular sonar, no live scope.

    Like always, awesome video!! I was wondering if you could do a walleye video on Pike Lake. I heard that place has a lot of walleyes but I can't catch them at all. Thanks!! 👍

    Eric do you have to worry about barotrauma catching walleye that deep?

    • @bumblebeeoptimusprime1430
      @bumblebeeoptimusprime1430 Год назад +1

      At around 7:45 you can see the walleyes eyes popping out. Obviously a sign of barotrauma but these fishing guides don't care.

  • @saisoncyril8011

    Nice, but no trouble with barotrauma? I'm just curious, no judgement.

    • @bumblebeeoptimusprime1430
      @bumblebeeoptimusprime1430 Год назад

      That walleye at 7:45 clearly has barotrauma(Eyes bulging way out of its socket). Most fishing guides just choose to disregard the fact they're hurting the fish like that

    Hey Eric I live in north west wisconsin and there is a inland lake stocked with brown trout brute stock. I catch them on dipsy divers and riggers trolling spoons…..July I have great success 18-25 inch browns but it seems like the bite dies down….your advice would be awesome…what should I change how would you target them? The lake is 3 miles long and 110 feet deep sandy and clearer water.

    I’ll add one more Tip on extending the life of every rod and the line on the reels: At 8:04 in the video, the jig is secured to a guide insert (the inner ring on a Guide where the line runs through). This can scratch the insert which will then wear the line with friction.
    That said, THIS DUDE CATCHES FISH!!!
    I’ll shut up an continue to learn from this great Fisherman.

      I've seen many a St. Croix snap over the years. Must be the reason they have lifetime warranty.

    • @muskietime

      I have many St. Croix spinning rods and muskie rods. Love and trust them!
      All but two are 2-piece. All but one are St. Croix Premier (lower cost rod line). Only broke one muskie rod live bait sucker fishing when the rod broke into three or four sections. Air temp was probably 15 degrees which I attribute to the break.
      In 30 plus years, I have had probably three ceramic rod guides pop out.
      I see many folks transport their rods with baits attached with the jig or lure swinging into the rod. Rod blanks can not take chipping and nicks.
      Use rod socks. Disassemble rods and store protected. Remove lures or use a lure wrap to minimize nicking the blank on every rod. Tungsten Jigs are the most damaging.

      To be fair, he doesn’t exactly treat his rods well. Once a rod gets a chip in it from being tossed around the boat it’s going to break eventually, regardless of brand

    You telling me these fish 30 ft and deeper are not dying from barotrauma .I am betting all of them are floaters but hey anything to make a video for likes.Should be showing how to fizz the fish properly your a guide.

      Was looking for a comment like yours! Glad to see there's still fisherman that care about safely catching and releasing fish these days.

  • @srtimm0424
    @srtimm0424 Год назад +1

    Unfortunate to be promoting barotrauma like this. Hey if your gonna fish this deep, good on you. But you gotta keep those fish or show how to fizz em. Don’t toss em back and let people think it’s ok to do this. Or at least share or teach the impacts of what this can do to that “Geneva Gold”.
