The only thing I really didn't like about season 4 is that it seemed like things were building up to them all having amazing powers, but they barely used them at all. It should have been full of amazing fight scenes, but it really wasn't.
My original thoughts for how things would turn out for the series: the Commission was created by the family to keep the events we saw the family go thru... one apocalypse after another, until they reached a timeline where they had become self-actualized, happy, and a well adjusted family... leading humanity to a new golden age.
