- After not even a year, Drift Away is done and I could not be happier with the outcome! A huge thank you to all of the animators that made this possible! You guys rock and it was a pleasure working with you^^
This MAP is about Tigerstar and how being abandoned by Pinestar was one of the main reasons he became evil, and how, no matter how much he detested his father, he became just like him in the end.

The thumbnail contest winner was extremely hard to choose, but in the end I chose DarKoza because they really captured every aspect of the MAP in an extremely coherent and clean drawing!

Wait this is a rlly good concept that I never thought of. Tigerstar began to hate kittypets because of his father (and a lot of other cats didn’t like em either). So when he met Scourge back in the day, he thought Scourge was pathetic just like Pinestar. His mentor helped him paint a terrible image of Bluestar, and Firestar being a kittypet completely tipped him over. When Bramblestar and Tawnypelt were born, he again and again tried to take them with him. Only succeeding with Tawnypelt as a kit. He didn’t want to abandon his kit like Pinestar did. And he focused more on Bramblestar(claw at the time) because Bramblestar is literally just like him. And he didn’t want his son, who looked exactly like him, to be abandoned by his father, just as he did.

I bet tigerstar didn't favor hawkfrost because hawkfrost turned out just like him, just as tigerstar did with his own father, and he was disgusted with the outcome, while bramblestar had pushed through it, and became the best version of himself, He was probably very proud of bramble for doing the exact thing he wasn't able to do growing up.
That's honestly so sad

I love this map cuz all Tha maps talk about how bad tigerstar was but they never made one about the dramatic life side of him this so cool like it!
Yeah! Not to say Tigerstar WASN'T an awful cat, he definitely was, but he has more story to him than just: Grr kill Firestar and take over the clans lol

I love how pinestar has pinkdimond feet puffs and later on in the map tigerkit gets spinel tear marks

I really love this map it really sets the emotion I also noticed when Tigerstar was a kit he had blush cheeks,but when he is big he has tears like spinel. I’m very impressed

That ending really hits you hard, because you know Tigerstar could have done A LOT of good for ThunderClan- but his ambition and prejudice filled him so completely he lost that chance. It’s actually a much more touching send off for him than we ever got in any of the canon material.
This makes you feel bad for Tigerstar. If the events in his life were different, I bet he would be a great warrior. If his father was more like Adderfang, or any other great warrior cats father, he would be much different.
Yes, it really makes me wonder though. Starclan gave Pinestar a message to kill his son because if not, he would end up evil. Maybe they knew Pinestar would leave and that would be what upset Tigerkit the most throughout his life. So before Pinestar left, they wanted him to kill his son to prevent anYthinG from happening. Or would he still have ended up evil either way?

This map honestly makes a different perspective on Tigerstar... I used to hate him.. but now I feel so bad for him
Tigerkit ran to the meetup spot with his father. He always got tired after running there but he never gave up. He saw his father and immediately went to crash into him. He knocked his father over and laughed.
“Hey Tigerkit, I can’t hang out today but I’ll see you tomorrow.” Tigerkit felt sad but smiled and nodded. Pinestar padded away and the next time he had the chance he ran to their meetup spot and waited. He waited and waited but no one came. It was getting dark and he went back to camp but Pinestar would be there next time. Pinestar wasn’t there again and again and now Tigerpaw gave up and all he had to think of it was, kittypets are weak.

This turned out great! Never thought I would feel sympathetic towards Tigerstar but here we are. Everyone did so well, thank you so much for letting me take a part I had such a good time working on it! Also all the end art is so so cute!

This was extremely well done. I love how the stripes on his face represented his eternal sadness (tears), just like in Steven Universe. I love the contrast between Pinestar and Tigerkit to Tigerclaw/star and Bramblekit/paw. That ending was phenomenal. He sees his loved ones but only for a second as he drifts away to the dark forest. Good script, good artwork. You should all be very proud.
I love how small parts of Pink Diamond and Spinel's designs were incorporated into Pinestar and Tigerkit/star's designs.
Bruh, the ending hit me hard. I know Tigerstar was a horrible cat but the portrayal of him seeing what could have been before falling into the dark Forest was amazing. Most people would just have him wake up in the dark forest but that ending was excellently executed!

Alot of cats really go through this in real life you can use drift away for so many things because drift away is thw story of abandonment which happens alot fictional stories,Shows,Real life and this one right here is new because it shows how tigerstar was abandoned by his father PineStar/Jake. You guys did a great job on this map ^^

I think the only cat tigerstar actually cared about was his mother, she was always there for them, she never left him alone, she only left him alone when she died

i did know about tigerstars past and seeing this makes me feel bad for him but at the same time he did so many shitty things idk how to feel about himm 😭😭
I like Tigerstar because I think he's a more interesting villain than most cats in the series, but him being abandoned by Pinestar doesn't justify his actions and he's still a bad guy that killed a lot of cats. It's fine to feel sorry for him as a kitten maybe? Before he's done anything bad? I could even say as an apprentice because he was explicitly told to attack Tiny, but once he kills Redtail there's no excuses. Hope that helps a bit^^

Omg I love this! I’ve been reading through the comments and everyone feels bad for him! It’s really strange, because there’s so many Swiftpaw maps. And my girl Brindleface was sacrificed to the dogs.
And Stonefur died for Featherpaw and Stormpaw!
He became so obsessed with the perfect clan United under his rule that he lost sight of what he was even doing. THERE WAS A BONE PILE. HE STARTED A WAR tHAT KILLED WHITESTORM. And injured so many others, Firestar lost a life! He became leader of Shadowclan and left it in ruiNs Or at least I think he messed up shadowclan
But yes. I still love this. I love the pom poms on Pinestar, I love the tear marks on Tigerclaw and I like how he ended up abandoning his own son too.

honestly this map really makes you feel for tigerstar, he was just raised badly, no father, and a loving mother. Thistleclaw trained him to kill, and between that and Pinestar not being there for him, it made him into a horrible cat.

We tossed around this au in the discord server earlier and I think we decided that Tigerclaw would still act like he hates Fireheart at first but would secretly look out for him and try to be a good father figure since he knows Pinestar wasn't there for him either
