When the zanesville incident happened I lived pretty close. It was a nightmare they had us stay inside until the animals were cleared. My boss knew terry and said that he would have never have done that. Many still think it was murd@r. Fun fact. Terry flew his airplane through the handles of the basket building in Dresden. Owning an exotic pet is, mostly, a sign of stupidity. Occasionally the pet cannot be released to the wild and the owner actually understands how to take care of this specific animal. Occasionally.
It's sad that animals had to lose their life due to a person who was not mentally fit (if he was sick at all) to take care of them.

Do I believe that animals can bond with humans regardless of if they are wild or not? To a degree. No I don’t think your python loves you (sorry but that’s IMO) but I think Christian the lion does prove it is possible. But was he better off after distancing from his pride? No. So I think that’s why human separation is best.
