That was great. I'm so excited for her mom. I can completely relate with all the stuff. I'm almost ready for Round 2 of decluttering. My late husband was a hoarder and it's been quite the journey just figuring out what everything is or what it belongs to. Thank goodness for family. I love these videos.
Lynette I too can relate. My husband is a hoarder. I spent last year and this year decluttering my closet and shredding my papers to make space for my husband's hoard. I shredded 10 bags of my papers and I donated tons of my clothing to Goodwill and a food pantry that also collects clothes. I now have minimal clothing and papers. I feel good especially now since we will be moving soon!! But its hard when the other person doesn't want to let go of things they are not using because it takes up space. Plus it takes longer to move everything from one place to another.
These are my favorite! I love all the compassionate decluttering tips that come out while you are working with your mom. Really helpful and really real when someone has lived in the same house for thirty plus years. Thank you and thank your mom for being willing to share her life declutter process with the audience here. So helpful. Such a treasure.
And they’ve been here for 40 years 🤪 I wasn’t expecting to find so many things from my child hood, it’s crazy how those thimble find corners to hide in. I will tell her 😘
I found when I first started decluttering many years ago I had a whole life shift. As I got rid of stuff I enjoyed the space so much I wanted more. In every drawer I wanted cleanness and organization. I didn’t want hidden unused items anymore. It became it’s own motivation. I think if you come back to your mom’s in a year it will look a lot different. Right now there is still so much that can go. When you realize the things passed down from loved relatives served them and weren’t meant to be a burden to you then you are free to give them to a new home. Also helped that my kids did not want me to pass all of that off on them to get rid of. My husband and I moved into a tiny garage apartment behind his elderly mom and have been here five years. That would not have been possible without getting rid of so much. Someday we face getting rid of hers because she doesn’t want to and the house will be sold. Let’s revisit your mom and see.
April, this blew me away You said what I was thinking but I'll say it anyway: The perfect ending to a "realistic" series that was clearly not about achieving perfection BUT what an example of personalized storage without a costly customized closet system installation! Working creatively within existing constraints and using what you have for the most part. I'm so impressed by how you two worked together, your mom's willingness and evolution throughout the series, and what feels like a real bonus at the end -- closets exclusively for your mom's items. You both must have been so satisfied, excited...and tired. This definitely continues to inspire me and I know where to turn if I need to recharge: watch any or all of this series again!! Hat's off to you both, except that I've donated mine.
Thank you so much Karen. I really appreciate this comment and it motivates me to keep leaning into these realistic series that don’t always conclude with a perfect space. 💛
You did an amazing job, it was amazing how dust and dirt free the space was considering how much stuff she had. She still has a ton but it is so much more organized which helps with like things in the same space. I kept thinking how one day in the distance future you may have to declutter all your parents stuff when they are no longer with us, this will make that job easier way down the line. I had a mess to content with when my parents left us. It was hard getting rid of things but I kept saying someone could really use these clothes and things who can't afford to go out and buy new. It is a process and several runs is necessary to get to a point where you have what you need and no more. Great series of videos!
Yes, it takes so much time. I’m proud of her because this was only her first pass and I know she’ll do more but you’re right, it’s so helpful when it’s all in the same place.
WE need to get a dumpster for my parents house...both deceased now...we were not "allowed' to do anything while my mother was alive....even tho her husband was dead for 18 years...what a P.I.A.!!! Even some of brother's stuff was still in the house & he has been dead since 1989
Thank you. You and your mom show real life decluttering. Like you said Emotions, minimum judging😘, several passes over some areas, budget and patience. So real. This was very comforting and encouraging to watch because it has inspired me to let go of more stuff. I would love a daughter like you to help me with my closet. However, I can hear your gentle and encouraging voice as I work. That’ll work.
“Since you lost your retainer” made me laugh 😂 great video! We are moving across the country in just our car and this was great inspiration to keep decluttering!
This was a great series....it is unusual because the clothes are a reflection of her life. Health care worker, home maker, seamstress and a very active person. And...no sign of a fantasy self to declutter. You're a great team
Hey I just saw a comment that’s so observant! Even though your mom still feels she can get rid of more, she has no fantasy clothes it seems all practical and what she would realistically wear. Love her taste in clothes too.
Is it weird that I’m sad this is coming to a close? Your relationship with your mom makes my heart so happy! I am not close with my mother so seeing this brings me so much joy. You’re such an amazing person for helping so many people! Keep up the great work. Sending love from small town Mississippi. ❤️
I commend you for your patience. It is a process for the other person to let go of things, and by being patient, they eventually will let go of more items as time goes on. Great job.
I love turquoise hangers in a pink closet! Mine are a boring beige. I had a similar pink bedroom in the 90’s but I was in my 20’s (single). It also had pink & yellow rose curtains and was very feminine I’m also think moms like teenagers have a little trouble taking advice from the other! And for all the comments about Space Maker dad, it definitely sounds like there’s progress. Great practical series as seeing evolution of decluttering makes it look less overwhelming
I am NOT and will never be a minimalist, that's why I enjoy your declutter and organization of your parents' place. I can relate. And your mom is a jewel!
I loved hearing Izzy “help” you with the voiceover! At first I thought it was one of my girls 😆! Frankly I’m done with seeing perfectly matched organization whether it’s a closet, pantry, or laundry room. Most of the time it’s unrealistic. Both of you did a great job!
This was a long saga. Your mum did an amazing job letting go of things as the declutter progressed! I'm not going to lie, every time you said "small space" in the series, even though it's a huge house compared to some of the apartments in Korea you went through, I thought "she sure adjusted her definition of small space the second she got to the US". But I guess small is relative. 😉
Great series. Meaningful time spent with your Mom. Hey Mom, to help keep up with all the new arrangements, do not buy or bring home any more hangers. New stuff in, so something goes out. I have found this to help me avoid recreating chaos.
I think that part was edited out because of audio issues, but she said she liked the bright colors to help minimize what she has just as you mentioned. Great minds think alike
Season 3 please and if she keeps decluttering on her on can she take pics of the piles so we see her progress? So inspiring. I’m also retiring this year from 44 years frontline healthcare and doing the same, second act at blue cross continuing as therapist except for kids furniture I’m still storing both of us decluttered but I’m noticing I’m way more frugal now and repurposed what’s left down to washing and reusing baggies which I teased my grandma for. I just don’t need a lot of clothes anymore but letting go very slowly at this point.❤️🇨🇦
What a difference having all those clothes out of the garage/laundry room will make!!! Not only do the closets look organized, the laundry room/ garage must seem so airy now! I am noticing a problem fit people have that people whose weight fluctuates don't have : you have YEARS of clothes that all fit!!! Not the case for people who gain and lose weight, I don't think. We have some clothes for different activities, but not LOTS of clothes for different activities because we have to toss and buy or store and buy as our weight fluctuates. Also noticing that where there are several seasons, people use attics and underbed storage a lot, but where the variation in temps is not so great, nothing ever gets stored away so the closets are more full. This decluttering really is a journey. The more we go back, the more ready we are to let go, realizing we DO have favorite clothes, colors, styles etc. and realizing how seldom some things get worn. This has been so enjoyable to watch and see the evolution. I will be surprised if it doesn't make your Dad a believer.
Hi April! The closets looked great! Even when you can't afford a fancy closet system or install, I remember your tip in Eunice's closet makeover where you mentioned having the hangers at the same height. It definitely gave your mom's closet space a nice clean line too. Excited for Vlogmas and your merch store! Funny story. I drank coffee at 6pm last night when I shouldn't have, and tackled decluttering the laundry/storage room. Came out after awhile and told my teen it was after midnight and to shut his video games off and go to sleep, that it was probably 1am by now. He said, "Mom. It's 4 in the morning." Me: . Anyway, I rocked that storage room. Things are bagged and boxed ready to exit.
Oh my gosh this just made me laugh out loud. We should probably add this as a declutter tip for the over 30 crowd 🤣🤣🤣🤣 well I hope it turned out well! And I’m going to start sharing everyone’s projects again so if you have any, I’d love to share them!
So much stuff! Will your mom wear any of this? At 67 I have downsized so much and I'm in a whole different stage. You are a good daughter helping her through all this.
I've enjoyed your and Mumma-Space Maker's journey so much, thank you for taking us along. I loved the end product and am very satisfied your mum has her own space - that's so important I think 😊 As an aside, when helping a friend with her closet I was able to compare the lovely wooden hangers which were all the rage sometime in the last decade against the new fangled slim velvet look ones and it wasn't even twice as much space - it was some silly number like four times the amount of space saved with the slim hangers.
Your mom and I look to be about the same age. I have realized at this stage of my life I rarely have a need to dress up, so have eliminated almost all of my dressy clothes, just saving a few. Also, I realize I wear my same favorite casual clothes over and over, so have also eliminated so many of the extras. It has made my life so much easier, both getting dressed for the day, and keeping my closets roomy and nice looking. I also live in Texas, and we don’t have the clothing needs of those living up north
I really love this declutter journey with your mom. So relatable, so kind, so real life. It is a great reminder that only the function matters, not the looks. Many thanks to you and your mom.
I love your videos. Your mom did so well in getting rid of thing. I know how hard it can be. I went thru the same thing but eventually realized it’s too much stuff. I have paired down a lot and still decluttering. Keep up the good work and hope you and Izzy are doing well!👍🥰💜
Thank you so much for this series. I organized myparents' house for them every time I went home for a visit. They both passed away in 2019, and I cherish those decluttering memories very much. I know your parents appreciate it and these videos will be priceless to you one day.
Amazing work as always. Your Mom deserved to have her clothes in the house! I have been decluttering continuously with everything including holiday items. It is so freeing. I need to do a better job with paper decluttering and a system for it. Would love to see a video and your suggestions on bills, important papers, warranty booklets, etc.
Wow, you guys got so much done! And it looks like your mom is on a roll with lots of newly toned decluttering muscles and an awesome label maker. Labels are the best, especially when living with other people (or with ADD brain!) I was cooking in a relative’s kitchen over Thanksgiving, hoping that what looked like flour was actually flour, but I just realized I don’t have labels on my own bins either.
What do you do with the old hangers? I haven't found a good place that takes either metal or plastic, so they end up in the garbage or recycling. Your mom should be so proud of the progress you've all made, especially compared with where things stood at episode 1!
Oh I’m so glad. It’s been a fun new world to adjust to, but it’s fun to be able to put short little messages out there each day. So happy to hear you find them helpful!
Great job! It is fun to see your mom so excited about her progress! 😁 She is really on a roll. The two of you have done so much work and made such a difference with what you had.
April, you are genius! Thank you so much for the most interesting declutter. Your mama did an amazing job, rethinking what's really matter to her. Life gets brighter and lighter! Greetings from Ukraine 🇺🇦😉
What do you do with plastic hangers you don't need? The best thing to do with plastic coat hangers is to avoid getting them in the first place. If you already have a bunch, use them as long as you can, donate them if you no longer need them, otherwise dispose of them in the trash can. (I looked up if plastic hangers can be recycled...and nope.)
So what went inwalkin shared closet? I put my seasonal clothes in vacuum storage bags then on top of closet or can fit a couple in a tub. Then am forced to go through when season changes. Yes will have to iron a lot but hey! Great job mom! I have/had a hard time going through my mom's stuff after she passed.
The closets are amazing. Well done to you both. You should be very proud of yourselves. Space Maker Mam - take a bow 🙇♀️ and enjoy the walk in closets. I am sad 😢 that this is the last episode in this series. Will you do series 3? Please 🙏 Maybe your dad might like to take part. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️🙇♀️👏👍💪🙏🤞💐
Thanks Mary! …I don’t think a season 3 will be in our future. I would love to work more in the craft room and on other projects, but to be honest it’s very expensive on my end (financial, mentally and in regards to needing to run my business alongside this… especially now that I’m living overseas again) so I don’t think a season 3 will be in the cards, but I guess never say never!
So many exciting things for this video!

🤣
Yes, please!
Me too
Definitely!!
Pretty please?!!
Had Dad been impressed? What’s his view on all this? Love this series!!
"Everyone wears underwear." 😂 I love your mom! She's going to enjoy having her own closet space SO much.
That was great. I'm so excited for her mom. I can completely relate with all the stuff. I'm almost ready for Round 2 of decluttering. My late husband was a hoarder and it's been quite the journey just figuring out what everything is or what it belongs to. Thank goodness for family.

I shall miss my weekly dose of your lovely mama. ❤
😢
Progress, not perfection. Nicely done Momma Spacemaker! Thanks for all the inspiration.
🎉🙏🏻👏🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦
Absolutely! And you’re welcome 😜
Progress not perfection would be great on merch

Your mom has become a decluttering dynamo! Kudos to you both! Shifting her clothes to those closets will surely be a game-changer.
“Since you lost your retainer” made me laugh 😂 great video! We are moving across the country in just our car and this was great inspiration to keep decluttering!
I agree with Ann, YES to season 3.
This is not meant in judgment but amazement.
The number of clothing items that you have touched over the episodes. 🎉
This was a great series....it is unusual because the clothes are a reflection of her life. Health care worker, home maker, seamstress and a very active person. And...no sign of a fantasy self to declutter. You're a great team
You are so right about the decluttering and organizing routine in regards to not buying doubles. For me it was scotch tape. LOL!
Hey I just saw a comment that’s so observant! Even though your mom still feels she can get rid of more, she has no fantasy clothes it seems all practical and what she would realistically wear. Love her taste in clothes too.
Your mum has more clothes now than I have had in my 58 years alive !!! 😂😂good on her for getting it done xx
Is it weird that I’m sad this is coming to a close? Your relationship with your mom makes my heart so happy! I am not close with my mother so seeing this brings me so much joy. It’s all about finding your balance! And thank you for watching!
I’ve found storing blankets and pillows in vacuum bags helps with space saving
Huge change. Well done.....
Mom really got into the declutter. I would like a follow up in 6 months or a year to see how it is working for her. Hugs
Love the labels! No matter how mant times I tell myself I will remember where I put everything after I reorganize, I DON'T. Labels are the answer.
and a map showing where in the house you put it!
Mom is definitely in the groove.😊
I loved hearing Izzy “help” you with the voiceover! At first I thought it was one of my girls 😆! Frankly I’m done with seeing perfectly matched organization whether it’s a closet, pantry, or laundry room. Most of the time it’s unrealistic. Both of you did a great job!
OMG it was the minute I needed to record that she decided she needed to meow 🤣 and thank you! Me too!
Your Mom has so much clothing and you are so supportive and patient. Great job.
This was a long saga. Your mum did an amazing job letting go of things as the declutter progressed!

Your mom has done such a great job decluttering. You do get more decluttering muscles the more you declutter. Love your series. ❤️
Season 3
Those hangers are game changers ♥️
Season 3 please and if she keeps decluttering on her on can she take pics of the piles so we see her progress? So inspiring. Its a shame dad didn’t get in on it, even if off camera. I also vote for season 3. Yay! Great job
This series was wonderful! Love your Mum!!!
What a difference having all those clothes out of the garage/laundry room will make!!! Not only do the closets look organized, the laundry room/ garage must seem so airy now! You make such a great point Pam. I think it’s really easy to be judgmental looking in, but most often people have reasons for it just as you said. 💛
It helps to watch you with your mother bc I am working with my 92 year old mother and I had to change how I work with her.
So much stuff! Will your mom wear any of this? At 67 I have downsized so much and I'm in a whole different stage. You are a good daughter helping her through all this.
I hope your mom enjoys her newly-organized spaces! It’s been great following along.
Looks good!
Please thank your Mom for sharing her decluttering journey with us! 👏👏👏to you both for all the hard work! 🥳🥂
I recently switched from plastic to velvet hangers. Oh my what a difference!
Wonder if momma would be interested in the “hangers backwards” declutter method?
Looks lovely and lot of hard work. Thank you for sharing!😊
So proud of her!
I've enjoyed your and Mumma-Space Maker's journey so much, thank you for taking us along. I loved the end product and am very satisfied your mum has her own space - that's so important I think 😊
As an aside, when helping a friend with her closet I was able to compare the lovely wooden hangers which were all the rage sometime in the last decade against the new fangled slim velvet look ones and it wasn't even twice as much space - it was some silly number like four times the amount of space saved with the slim hangers.
Wow! So inspiring to see you help your Mom decluttering her home
I love series and youur mom! She is funny and lovely. She is so proud for being the space maker 😍😍
I’m glad you’ve found what works for you! And climate definitely plays a role in what you need for sure💛
Your mom is awesome! I’m glad she allowed us on her decluttering journey. Great job.
You and your mom work well together. Happy holidays.
That was sweet of you, I hope they appreciated it as well💛
Been waiting for this final part to the closet declutter! Very fun to watch.
The closet declutter and new organisation is going to make such a difference and make day to day much easier. Love it 😃
So much less stress in the morning!
That looks fancy enough for me. Great job, and I bet Momma Spacemaker feels so much happier with those closets.
It's pretty incredible what all you two accomplished. **Respect**
Thank you so much
Such a great series with your mom!
Thanks for watching Mary!
Exceptional work, you should both be very proud of what you accomplished. I’m so sad it’s over!!
Thanks for watching Karen!
I really love the background music you pick!
💛
Your love for your mama is evident!!
💛
What a difference 🥰
Your sweet Mama has so many scrubs and work shoes!!!
Loved the series with your mom! Xoxo
Thanks for watching Denise!

Thanks Carla!
Looks amazing 👍🏼❤️😉🇨🇦
I can't believe this is the last episode! oMG your mom's home turned out beautifully cosy. ❤️
I know! ☹️ I was really enjoying those last shots of the guest room to the hallway view with the new trim and decor changes. 🥰
I'm so happy for your awesome mom! You both did great, it was so fun and inspiring to watch. Thank you for letting us tag along with you and your mom!
Enjoyed this series very much. So refreshing to see "real life decluttering"
I’m so glad you liked it, more real life to come 😜
What a job!! Great work, mum must be thrilled not to have to go into the garage for her clothes. 😘💖😘💖😘💖😘💖😘💖😘💖😘💖😘💖
💛💛💛 especially when it’s cold out 🤣
Wow, you guys got so much done!
🤣 you bring up such a good point, labels and organization is really so helpful for guests. I hope you picked the right one 😂
What do you do with the old hangers? I haven't found a good place that takes either metal or plastic, so they end up in the garbage or recycling.
Your mom should be so proud of the progress you've all made, especially compared with where things stood at episode 1!
We donated them to our local Salvation Army. They told us they always need them, so maybe check there?
Your mom is so stylish!
Appreciate your U Tube Shorts because you promote and practice a healthy way of thinking, which is beneficial to anyone. Thank you.
Oh I’m so glad. It’s been a fun new world to adjust to, but it’s fun to be able to put short little messages out there each day. So happy to hear you find them helpful!
Yes and a little goes a long way! 😊
Thank YOU and your Mom for sharing the journey with us! ♥ Jenny
Thanks for watching Jenny!
Great job! It is fun to see your mom so excited about her progress! 😁 She is really on a roll. The two of you have done so much work and made such a difference with what you had.
I would like to see space maker dad series🙈
April, you are genius! Thank you so much for the most interesting declutter. Your mama did an amazing job, rethinking what's really matter to her. Life gets brighter and lighter!
Greetings from Ukraine 🇺🇦😉
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed the series. Hope you are staying warm in Ukraine 💛
Omg you are the daughter my mom wants
What do you do with plastic hangers you don't need?
The best thing to do with plastic coat hangers is to avoid getting them in the first place. If you already have a bunch, use them as long as you can, donate them if you no longer need them, otherwise dispose of them in the trash can.
(I looked up if plastic hangers can be recycled...and nope.)
This is so satisfying!! I hope your dad lets you help him with his closet. Lolol!! I really need it finished 😂
Very nice series. Velvet hangers are great for saving space but they break easily.
You have to revisit this series.
Btw ladies, well done xx
You are a good daughter!
Thanks for watching the series!
That was great!
Thanks for watching Nancy!
Your Mom’s & Dani’s Series were my favorites. Did You do a kitchen de-clutter at Mom’s? If so, I missed it 😕
Yay for Mom! The closet looks great!
Perfect!!
Thanks for watching Cathy!
These series really got me inspired!!! Congratulations to you and your mom!
Best wishes from Brazil! 🌻
So happy to hear that! Thanks for watching 💛
Loved it! ❤🎉
Fantastic your mum really got onboard❤
Huzzah! Way to go.🧡
Thank you!
Definitely need another series
Hehe pyjamas* so sad this series is ending!
I can't believe it's over!
But lots of fun new ones to come!
