The problem with Newcastle vs the traditional top 6 is that they have not been allowed to build a competitive squad due to PSR. That means it is more difficult to bring on quality players that can change a game, and fewer options in case of injury.

Bottle of Brown Ale, a stottie with boiled ham & peas pudding and you're one of us...
Technically Lord Percy Duke of Northumberland owned the land where Spurs were formed & he was called "Harry Hotspur", which is where the club name originated from. Even has a pub named after him in Percy Street Newcastle called The Hotspur....

Good point by the author and just to endorse that you should know your history before flapping your gums. In this particular case the people running Tottenham Hotspur football club back in 2014 regarding a petty dispute that went to court.
A menswear shop in Northumberland has beaten a Premier League football club in a battle over naming rights.
Tottenham Hotspur had asked the owner of Hotspur 1364, a newly-opened boutique in Alnwick, to stop using the name as the club owned the trademark.
The owner, a Newcastle United fan, said it was named after locally-born late medieval knight and not the north London football team.
The knight in question was Sir Henry Percy (Duke of Northumberland, who's ancestral home is Alnwick castle) who was given the nickname "Harry Hotspur" by the Scots and where they got their name from, but any club historian should have known that.
Spectacular own goal on their behalf.

Tonali is our best midfielder, said it a few videos back. He's ridiculously good...
The work rate from start to finish is crazy. He has to cover all the mistakes Bruno and Joelinton make... He controls midfield and pings passes . An can switch from defence to counter so quick because of him

    • @SirMonkeySuit
      @SirMonkeySuit 9 дней назад +4

Tonali is exceptional but don't disrespect Bruno and Big Joe, Bruno has been forced into a CDM role the entire time he's been here which isn't his natural position and been our lynch pin since he came in. Tonali and Bruno is a midfield pair and both are performing better because of each other. Add Big Joe for the pure enforcer role and it's a perfect midfield 3.
We could all see we needed legs and pace in the midfield and Tonali is like the Italian Gerrard, Engine for days, legs for days while cleaning up all the loose balls in and around the area just off the centre circle.
Bruno now in his natural and favoured position is a pure creator and we are breaking down low blocks that we struggled with massively before.
To just shove off Bruno and Joelinton and just heap praise on Tonali is pure bollocks, Eddie took time on in training to shift the positions in the midfield to get these 3 to work in tandem altogether. Tonali was the missing piece we needed but couldn't because of his ban. Now we are seeing the fruition.
It's not a one man midfield, that 3 is a unit altogether.

Arsenal can't score 2 at St. James Park. Saka is the only one capable of a magic edge of the box side net finish. They aren't scoring inside the box and even if they do with their fabled set piece, they aren't doing it twice. They can't score or create without Saka.

    • @jamesmccarthy6764

What we do is make things unnecessarily difficult for ourselves. Even though we're better than Arsenal right now, I could see us setting out to defend & inviting them on us from the off. I wouldn't be surprised if we were hanging on in the last few minutes, or if they pushed us into extra-time or penalties. Ultimately I don't care as long as we get through.

We displayed a level of performance during our 9 game run that says we can beat any team on our day. We have a tough three games mid February as you say, if we get enough out of that to keep us in touch with the top four we’re in with a great chance of Champions League. We have to finish off Arsenal in the League Cup the alternative would be too deflating particularly as it’s followed by those tough PL games. Looks like there’ll be no signings in January so we’ll be flying by the seat of wi pants all the way to the end of the season but hey, we’re Newcastle United, HTL. And enjoyed the video good focused analysis, subscribed.

7:05 tbh I think we'll beat Fulham, should go through against Arsenal from our perspective can't see them coming back from 2 goals down at St James's should really beat Birmingham regardless of the 11 we put out but then Man City Forest Liverpool.. hopefully the final against Liverpool or Spurs, that period is gonna be tough especially City and Liverpool away but the most important thing for me is bringing that fkn trophy home 🏆🖤🤍 -if 5th place gets us champions league I'd be more than happy with that and a first trophy to kick off this era🙏

    • @SirMonkeySuit

City are very poor, they have totally switched their style they aren't used too. They only look back on paper with their results because they've faced West Ham under Lopetegui, Leicester, Ipswich. Conceded 4 in 20 minutes being 2-0 up against a poor PSG and Chelsea who also are poor at the moment. Honestly, the spaces they leave in the defence, Isak will destroy them and our Midfield is far better than theirs.
On the day, as long as our back 4 are solid, we beat them man for man.

As a Newcastle fan, I can say that our biggest aim is Europe. Either Champions League or Europa. I'm not sure many are fussed about the Europa Conference. But, because of this our main focus is the Carabao Cup. If we win that, obviously it will be our first trophy in a long time, but it will ALSO mean automatic qualification to the Europa league which will massively lift the pressure of where we finish in the Premier League.

The “real” world class Newcastle has for now is definitely the Sandro Tonali. That finish for his goal was totally different level - simple, nice and clean; this Newcastle team has lack of quality around them except him; even Bruno G cannot be competitive with that quality.

@SiuHang35 Are you serious?? You clearly don’t understand that what Alexander Isak does when he scores goals like that second one may look easy but in fact takes huge skills. But that’s the problem with Isak - he always makes things look easy because he’s so insanely technical. And people then don’t get just how special he is.
