This is the only video I've ever seen with a tornado spinning clockwise (rare in the north hemisphere) and another tornado right behind it spinning counterclockwise (like nearly every tornado north of the equator). Incredible
Excellent Footage! People say tornadoes can be the most dangerous thing Mother Nature throws at us, But sometimes these wonders of nature can be beautiful.
Is nobody gonna talk about the Literal opposite directions of rotation in two tornadoes in the same view in this video?! Extraordinary, backwards spinning tornadoes are rare, and rarer still is a separate tornado in the background spinning the opposite direction. Outstanding footage!
Thanks. Yes and the fact that it lasted so long. Hard to tell with this time lapse but the two tornadoes (cyclonic and anticyclonic) were on the ground a good 20-30 minutes. I'm putting together a new nearly real-time edit that will show this in much more detail.
There are a lot of storm chasers who seek to get close to the tornado. I never really thought about video of the supercell and mesocyclone, but that has to be as valuable to scientists and meteorologists as the close-in stuff. I certain saw details I've never seen before. So thank you.
What a stubbornly magnificent supercell. Anti-cyclonic madness. Incredible bro. I chase in the mid-south & I always tell my friends if I had a place to pic to live it'd be eastern Colorado because throughout basically the whole summer you get high-based supercells that make the most photogenic tornadoes(landspouts).
The video distracts me from the music and the music distracts me from the video. A superb effort all round. Thanks very much. (75-yr-old Brit muso weather nut).
Great video! Wild music! I noticed, though, that at least some of the video footage shows the cloud cover and the Tornado spinning clockwise, instead of counter clockwise. Pretty cool stuff!
Thanks for the comment on the music. I redid the video using a 2019 re-recorded version of that song by our band. (My brother is the guitarist who wrote and recorded ALL parts of the first version you heard as a demo many years ago). The new version was on our album. See links in this video if you are interested in more of that type of instro guitar music. ruclips.net/video/U9m9XVmfrxU/видео.html
@@johnnyicon97 I just watched the updated video, well done! I know all too well how challenging it can be to gain traction gigging out as an instrumental act. But I hope you are all keeping it up and would love to see more content
Thanks again and speaking of which... just last week I stared a channel for our band "Guitar UP!" at ruclips.net/channel/UCwnnKS-ijf-xypz3W6m9PYw. I'll be adding our various tunes and videos over the coming months. And thanks for subscribing here!
A veritable tornado family! It's really fascinating how you can see the precipitation start to come down as the RFD occludes the mesocyclone only for another one to pop up behind it! You can see this happen in 3:48 I believe, or was that last tornado anticyclonic?
I think the best thing about environmental disasters, such as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, it's so interesting to see how different areas react to them. Like I think people are crazy that wanna drive around by those, but it's cool as hell and I understand, while I have friends from east coast who are like terrified of earthquakes whenever they come to California
It almost looked like it was testing the ground before it stayed on the ground like people test water for its temperature before they go in. Either way, those were multiple vortices on the ground. I counted maybe 2 or 3, but the coloration on that one vortex was gorgeous. Solid dirt color ober there.
Wow what an awesome tornado, this is my dream to chase tornado and how they touchdown, i can't wait to do this in the future..... Great job too i enjoyed the while video!!!👍👍👏👏
The primary tornado and associated rear flank downdraft (RFD) pushed ahead and actually created a new rotation in the reverse direction. Very rare thing. This video by the weather channel using our video explains it pretty well. ruclips.net/video/LYEx3U5DT_k/видео.html
You mean anti-cyclonic (i.e. clockwise). Cyclonic is anti-clockwise, the more common in the northern hemisphere. I wonder if the video is just reversed because not only is the tornado spinning anti-cyclonically, so is the supercell.
The music is too far above the "mary had a little lamb" mentality of far too many, and that's just sad. I think it not only fits, but it made me pick up my guitar and start figuring it out. Very cool, yet dark vibe, that I guess you call "surfer rock"? That led me to search and find some other great stuff, as well. Thanx for making this video, and including this thoughtful musical composition.
Thanks, that's quite a compliment. Love Pecos Hank! That music was written/recorded by my brother back in 2003(?) I think. After this video kinda blew up we re-recording the song with our band and I did a new version of the video with the new track a few years later. ruclips.net/video/U9m9XVmfrxU/видео.html I bit of a different feel but still that creepy spaghetti spy surf vibe.
Actually one person on all parts on that original track. We did a full "band" version on this version of the video. ruclips.net/video/U9m9XVmfrxU/видео.html Band is called Guitar UP! I play rhythm guitar on this track.
EF0 most of the time. Briefly EF1. That's of course due to it mainly occurring over empty fields. could be a mirrored video
Anticyclonic
It's called anticyclonic

Out of the 17 tornadoes this storm produced in 2 hours, you may have captured the most I've seen in a video of this cell to date; awesome!
The dude playing the music is AWESOME!
Reminds me of the Wizard of Oz Tornado at 2:44. It’s simply beautiful.
2:44 one of the most beautiful tornadoes I've ever seen in my life, I will never get tired of seeing this storm, so many awesome ones produced
mustve gone over an empty field to get that much dust

Very beautiful time lapse. Music fits perfectly with it.

Kinda crazy how one of the best storms I've seen ended up in my hometown.
At last. A decent timelapse tornado video with the music to go with it..👍
Simon Eastland it's not great time lapse it's "cut"videos exactly opposite of what the title says it is.

Wonderful time lapse an excellent music to go with it. What a dynamic tornado /storm!
Rare anti-cyclonic tornado in which the rear flank downdraft goes behind it due to the way the air flow works resulting in clockwise rotation.
Where are the Rocky Mountains?
IT WAS SPINNING CYCLONICALLY AT 3:00
You mean anti-cyclonic (i.e. clockwise). Cyclonic is anti-clockwise, the more common in the northern hemisphere. I wonder if the video is just reversed because not only is the tornado spinning anti-cyclonically, so is the supercell.
2 tornadoes at the same time , one cyclonique and the other anti-cyclonique, the Perfect supercell... Awsome
Any tornado is beautiful, not anymore when it approached your house.
*Tornado's Are INSANELY Insane.*
That was a rather long tracked anti-cyclonic tornado. Very photogenic too!
