Mono-Bug in Gen 6 was a fave of mine. Most people expected the Scizor (or Pinsir) to be the Mega, but Heracross with some Sticky Webs support cooked.
If there is a pinsir I definitely expect it to be the Mega out of the 3, Scizor and Heracross are both still quite effective even without their mega (especially Scizor) but Pinsir is a clear bottom tier without it's mega (maybe I'm putting too much disrespect and standard Pinsir's name but I have yet to see it do anything outside of playthroughs)

Because each hit of Arm Thrust is only 15 base power unlike Bullet Seed or Pin Missile or Rock Blast at 25 base power per hit. After all 5 hits, it’s only as strong as Brick Break at 75 base power. 120 base power Close Combat is definitely the way to go.

You get custom avatars from winning or participating in specific Smogon Tournaments (like World cup or SPL). They're also given to people who contribute to the community but I'm not sure about the details on that.

Doesn't Heracross also learn Arm thrust? I think it worked like bullet seed.
It does, but arm thrust is a lot weaker than all the other multi hit moves. Bullet Seed and Rock Blast are stronger even with the STAB boost.
