A few years ago we lost power and were without for over 3 days. This was also in the winter months, with temps in the house down to 30’s. We survived, head to the mall during the day or evening. Use your car to charge electronics such as phone and tablets. Wear layered clothing, hats and gloves in the house and get under some blankets. It’s not fun but it’s survivable. The utility crews are spending long hours and enduring the weather to get things up and running.

Maybe people should plant SMALL TREES. The bigger ones are subject to the wind and the bigger they are, the bigger the forces that hit the tree and big trees can't resist. Also, trees should be trimmed away from power lines, telephone and cable lines and so forth.

Sorry to hear of the loss of power in colder temps, downed trees, damage, deaths. Lot of work to do. Hmmm... not as bad as N.C. so, feel blessed.

People don’t realize what it takes to get power up and running. Often the roads are not passable so they need to clear the way first. Some times the damage to the lines and poles requires extensive work. I think the power companies and their employees do a remarkable job especially considering some of the weather conditions they work in. Give them a break they do the best they can do under the amount of outages they have to contend with and often can be pretty dangerous.

This is not the worst wind storm I've been through in puget sound, but it is the worst response ever. There are places without cell, power, or internet. Since fiber phone lines are rare, they couldn't contact emergency services if they needed to. Absolutely irresponsible government agencies getting us to this place.

I have my granddaughter bcz of no power. Their Renton area just got power back this morning. Downed trees and power lines are everywhere. Our neighbors had trees on their houses and cars.

I was all with ya until you said use flashlights instead of candles. People dont have power. Candles are the safest way they can have light if their phones are dead and they have no other flashlights.
