I remember this, I was 10 years old and was staying at my grandmothers house for the day when I looked out the window and saw this bus on fire. I remember seeing a bunch of kids coming out of it too. You can actually see the house in the background
I was trying to sell my mixtape to a 7th grader but he smacked it out of my hands and it hit the ground too hard. Suddenly the seats in the front went ablaze and we had to get out of the emergency door in the back of the bus
Wow did you see one of America's greatest heroes walk right up to that burning bus?. No hesitation he opens the door gets a face full of flames and smoke he backs up turns water on and poof
Good job bus driver for evacuating everyone safely. I remember when I was in middle school and we had bus evacuation training...we got told smoke can fill the whole thing in under 30 seconds in case of a major fire-no laughing matter.
I went to a training class on school bus extrication and fires years ago. It is amazing how hot and fast those things burn. To the driver; way to keep cool getting the kiddos out. To the FD; good knock. Keep safe out there.
Nilayah Bowden there was kids, this was a bus taking middle schoolers home and I'm assuming the CMS part stands for cook middle school bus situation and the kids got all off safely
good work by everyone - bus driver, camera person, fire dept - except maybe the bus manufacturer for the design flaw that lets wires overheat and a school industry too slow to fix the issue. glad no loss of life this time. hope there's no next time!
I absolutely respect firemen, but it NEVER ceases to amaze me on car fires how fucking slow they move. When our van went up in flames, those firemen were moving like they all had Valium milkshakes on the trip over. Look at all that toxic smoke in tight neighborhood. Get the fucking lead out!!!
Although it's well ventilated, I'd still knock it down from the outside as all that melted rubber and plastic can ruin your turnout gear. You'll be protected for this fire, but you'll have to get new gear.
This is a prime example of why seat belts are a bad idea for children riding school buses. Can you imagine the driver trying to evacuate 60+ belted-in elementary kids in this type of emergency. I can't even imagine the panic that would ensue from kids trying to get out of entangled seat belts. There's no way a driver, even with an adult assistant, could get to kids out in time if a fire like this breaks out on a bus. And some ignorant schools districts now require pre-K kids belted in car seats. Look how many bus fires like this video are posted on RUclips. I wish people who think belted- in children on a school bus is somehow safer, would see this video.
True. But I guess the acceptance of seatbelts for kids seems to be pretty low in your country/ county. The described worst case can only happen if kids are nor used to seatbelts or do not know how to handle them. In other countrys, where seatbelts are used for everyone the described worst case wouldn't happen at all. Its a question of training/ getting used to it.
Ice is a volcano against this fie man. Absolutely the cooooolest fire man on earth. "Chapeau Monsieur". Yor are the best. Here fits the word "fire does not kill the fireman - the fire becomes the fire man".
Being that this was a cabin fire, why didn't someone grab the fire extinguisher and put it out before it got out of control? Back in junior high, we had an engine fire in the school bus. One of the students grabbed the fire extinguisher and put it out. No panic, just took care of it, before it got out of control.
It's not that simple. The first thing is to get the kids off of the bus and to a safe area so they're not in traffic. By the time that's done, the fire could be too big to fight. And if it started under the dash, it's often hard to get the extinguishing powder on the fire. You'd have to see the incident from the start to get a definitive answer.
Different areas, different protocols. What does it really matter how quickly it gets put out anyways, everyone is out, and the vehicle is a total loss, nothing else is going to get damaged...
wow he just walked in the bus thinking this is easy I've been doing this for four years like bruh how can you just walk right in and not getting on fire
These busses have air brakes- if they lose air pressure they lock up. It takes air pressure to hold the shoes AWAY from the drums. That bus isn't going anywhere. Never say never- there are no absolutes in this business!
I told the bus driver something Bus driver:Get in the bus Me: can i get my marshmallow for awhile the bus is on fire Bus driver: what no way i gotta call for help
ike fun well #1 when did I mention a fire extinguisher? And #2, it is actually proven that the use of a simple water can, can do sufficient work at the seat of a fire. We study and train on these things weekly. Anymore ignorant replies?
their is a couple things i saw wrong. 1 you never ever for your safety enter a burning bus while spraying water. 2 Never open a burning door trying to gain access to the bus. you should fight the fire from the sides or back of the bus.. You also have to remember that if the brakes fail on that bus and your on it it will take you with it where ever it goes. So that why you never enter a burning bus putting your life at danger. No question ask from anyone.
The cause of the fire was a few electrical wires in the dashboard the driver smelled an odor then she saw smoke coming out of the dash and immediately pulled over and got the 6 elementary students out safely
I remember this. Decade ago. Got a LOT of media attention. Driver did great. Screw the bus, get the kids out. Everyone was safe. Because of all the attention, I remember rhe fire marshal did an investigation, the bus manufacturer, the state, etc. All came to the conclusion it was an exposed wire.
Cause he's dressed for it.. And unlike a structure.. It's not likely to collapse. I was taken by surprise too. But, it worked well because the rear emergency door was open along with the windows so the heat, smoke and gases had somewhere to go.
Telomoney_Videos The battery is located in a hatch along the side of the bus. During the fire, wires and relays melt and short together. That is why you hear the horn, brake lights, and backup lights randomly activate. That's also why the starter activated.
Those old Freightliners were good back in my middle school years, but now they are shit. I now think the newer International Harvester buses are safer.
There is no time for magic bus. This is a bus that is on fire. Not time for fantasy. This is about the safety of the children. Yes it sounds like I am from the big corporate world.
When miss frizile passes me the Aux Cord
Goo.
damn your mixtape is fire and somebody SHUT THAT HORN UP!
Dylan Antill dude you just made me laugh again
Dylan Antill
Dylan Antill it is not the magic school bus
That fireman was a beast! He opens that bus door like its nothing.
Well they have to be on beast mode or else the bus would have burned out the street
Well I saw that is was already cracked open so it was not hard to open it the rest of he way
Beastly is the approach to extuingish the fire from the inside.
That firemen knows what to do like a boss! Not his first BBQ!
Many lunch boxes were lost that day.

The strength of that bus is pretty impressive, even in the aftermath it looks like it could be restored.
At first I thought you were just standing there taping while kids were inside so I stopped and read your explanation and then I could relax. Wow.
when mrs frzile goes to the hood
I went to a training class on school bus extrication and fires years ago. It is amazing how hot and fast those things burn. To the driver; way to keep cool getting the kiddos out. To the FD; good knock. Keep safe out there.
that's what happens when you try to roast your homie
or when you drop in a new mix tape
Wow what a crew. PPE in place, aggressive attack of the fire, chocking the wheels! Great video thanks for sharing.
lol dude just opens the door and steps right in, what a badass
Firemen are the real heroes . They're running in to help while everyone else is running out. True heroes!
even though I've seen this video, I never paid attention to when the lights came back on, it actually tried to start up by itself
Ohh my God!! As a school bus driver, it really freaks me out just to see this and to think that it could happen to any one!!!
Glad to see the horn working for some of it. well done freightliner bus

And this is why there are no seatbelts in a bus. So glad everyone made it out safely!!
that firefighter went in there like a boss
firefighter savage walked right into the flames
This brings back bad memories of being trapped in that bus.
Wow... Fastest knock down of a bus fire I have ever seen.
good thing there was no kids on the bus but is the bus driver ok😞😞😞😞😞
the back door was open so I am assuming he was, However the horn does keep going off
Nilayah Bowden there was kids, this was a bus taking middle schoolers home and I'm assuming the CMS part stands for cook middle school bus situation and the kids got all off safely
Taylor I go to this school now. A couple of years ago, a bus caught on fire. This was Collinsville Middle School
good work by everyone - bus driver, camera person, fire dept - except maybe the bus manufacturer for the design flaw that lets wires overheat and a school industry too slow to fix the issue. glad no loss of life this time. hope there's no next time!
Took only one fireman to extinguish that fire.. Great job...
Senior pranks have gotten out of control.
This is why there's no smoking on the bus, kids.

deeredad so if you follow this principle, it is fine for people to not have seatbelts on a car.
Ice is a volcano against this fie man. Absolutely the cooooolest fire man on earth. "Chapeau Monsieur". Yor are the best. Here fits the word "fire does not kill the fireman - the fire becomes the fire man".
1:18 The back lights of the bus turned on.
He went in there like a boss

Good knock down on the fire. I would've gone with an exterior attack first though.
ike fun well #1 when did I mention a fire extinguisher? And #2, it is actually proven that the use of a simple water can, can do sufficient work at the seat of a fire. We study and train on these things weekly. Anymore ignorant replies?

Reminds me of the Halloween firework I used to buy called the burning school bus
The children's dreams came true! 😂
when your fidget spinner drops to the driver moveing
The smoke was satisfying
Today class the main objective of the field trip is to run like hell
All the gum and snots under the seats fueled this.
1:18 Reverse lights engage and then brake lights. 😂
Then it tried to start up😂
The fire was messing with the Electric system inside the bus and then the horn sounded again.
keep the 1988 Carroll County Ky bus fire in mind when watching this. 27 humans perished due to a drunk driver..
DAM EVEYONE CLEAR VERY NICELY I WAS RIGHT DOWN THE STREEET BACK DOOR OPEN WELL DONE WELL DONE
Sorry for the people who were in the bus😢😭
Everyone made it out safely.
Looks like today's fieldtrip is cancelled. Sorry Ms Frizzle, it was probably Janet who started the fire.
Ms. Frizzle should not teach children chemistry in a bus.
Dios bendiga a la chofer que fue valiente en sacar a tiempo a los alumnos.
Damn it, half the state's homeworks were on that bus!
When i shit my pants in the school bus
Maybe I should stop playing my mixtape for a while.

Yhowbyjytub310 yea
When I play my mixtape on the bus 😂
The party poopers arrived too quickly! :)
Where did this happen? The fire department arrived relatively quick. And knocked out the school bus fire fast.
Imma miss that bus......
School bus drivers would say "please remain sedated to the bus comes to a complete stop"
Those old Freightliners were good back in my middle school years, but now they are shit. I now think the newer International Harvester buses are safer.
wonder how many kids left their homework on the bus just to say the bus fire ate my homework
I now have a fear of school busses
There is no time for magic bus. This is a bus that is on fire. Not time for fantasy. This is about the safety of the children. Yes it sounds like I am from the big corporate world.
Damn no need for anyone else just that boss who took it out by himself. Cancel everyone else. Disaster averted.
I was on this bus and saw my friend die next to me😭😭😭 rip daniel
U lyin
Thank God for that bus driver!
