Dan Thomas - Be More Kind (Frank Turner Cover)

I've been feeling incredibly depressed by the news in the UK over the last two weeks. The awful murders in Southport were bad enough, but to see those horrific events used as a pre-text for an out-pouring of truly hateful violence has been equally heartbreaking and enraging. To make matters worse, the conversation online has been utterly toxic. Once again, as so often seems the case, we seem to be divided across an un-bridgeable chasm, unable to even agree what the facts are.
In times like these, I turn to music. Enter our Lord and Saviour, Frank Turner.
Frank's 2017 album, Be More Kind, is FULL of songs written about and for a world that seems intent on tearing itself apart. The title track feels just as relevant now as it did seven years ago, maybe even more so. In the depths of my utter despair, I put this album on and immediately began to feel a sense of healing - it was like a hug for my broken heart.
So I sat down and learned it. I hope hearing it helps to heal the cracks in your heart the way that the original song helped to heal mine.
