Birds DO ATTACK drones. Eagles, Osprey and Seagulls get ticked when near their nests. Expect these attacks if your in an area where these type birds nest. The ONLY way to escape attack is to ascend straight up at full throttle, which is about 11mph vertically for the P4. The P3 will do 11mph too, but only above 50% charge. Mavic's are slower to ascend, (I'm unsure about Inspire) but vertical ascend still works because birds can't fly straight up at that speed. However, this tactic is only effective if you're seeing the bird approach with VLOS, so you can SEE the threat approaching. If you don't have VLOS of your craft you'll always be exposed to bird attacks from the rear of the craft, where you can't see.
One of the best ways to avoid power lines, especially when it's against a dark background, is to turn on peaking and set it to high. When peaking is on it actually draws red pixels along straight lines and edges, to show you what's in focus. So, if you're looking off in the distance and the buildings have sharp edges, then you know you're in focus. I don't really use it for that. I use it to hunt down power lines because if I'm shooting in front of a bunch of trees or brush and I see a red pixel, horizontal, straight line, then I know that's a power line and not a tree branch because it would not be a perfectly straight line. Also if you set it to high, you actually get less red pixels, so it is less of a distraction on the screen. High sounds like it would be more intense but it is not, go figure...
I meant for those kind of firefighting missions, I assume because visibility from the smoke is a bigger issue at night, as they mentioned in the source article (check it out in the description). I live in LA so I've heard plenty of police helicopters flying around at night.
If they're grounding DJI in the US, should consumers be concerned? I just got the Air 2, and would hate to not be able to use it in the near future. Lol
It is only at the federal level. State and local governments can still use DJI drones as long as they do not use federal funds to purchase DJI equipment.

No, the government knows the threat from the CCP. It's a very serious threat that most people are in denial. But DJI gear is addictive, gotta love their technology.
