MMT and White Album are generally shite for me. All the rest, wonderful. I have them all, some several copies. I can hardly play a note. It's torture learning even the basic open chords, but then I've only just started at 75. I have good dexterity, no arthritis, and good fine motor skills having been a fitter-welder most of my working life, but finding the finger/chord shapes is murder. Even though I'm left-handed, I decided at the beginning to learn to play right handed. Apparently many famous left handers play right handed. My eldest son plays guitar, has clumsy fat fingers, and very broad flat nails, yet manages quite well even though he's only been playing for about a year. I have well-shaped fingers and nails and I keep the nails short. I'm trying to build up callouses on my finger ends because fretting strings is really painful. My wife and I play the Beatles all the time in our car. All the time and never tire of them, often picking up nuances unheard before. Curiously I hardly ever play Beatles on our domestic hifi. Dunno why, it's usually Elton John, Kinks, Dire Straits et al. I, and many others of my generation, was in a depressed funk after the assassination of JFK in November of 1963. I forgot to add that I would still put "Beatles For Sale" at the end of the earlier period. John's "No Reply", "I'm A Loser" and "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party" shows some lyrical growth by John but the rest of the Lp is still early Beatles to me. Let's settle on maybe transitional record. I forgot this one, I said early period for me may be "I'm A Loser" but it just hit me and not an Lp track but a single. "I Feel Fine" quite possibly the catchiest and greatest guitar riff ever. Such a happy song and sums up early period Beatles for me. Great Lennon's vocals and Paul and George harmonies all spot on. Yeah, this is my early Beatles one for me. ❤

Changed my musical and life paths forever, in the best ways possible. So, for me, it was All My Loving, my favourite Beatle song ever and still my 2nd favourite song of all time
Singer guitarist Donovan was also on this trip to India, and showed John and Paul his finger picking technics in song writing. John's influence of Donovan's technique became Dear Prudence, and also Julia as 2 examples. Paul's interpretation became Mother Nature's Son, and also Black Bird as 2 examples. Ayla, I am blown away by your Beatles knowledge. I was born in 1962, and was influenced by 4 older brothers playing Beatles albums 24/7 from birth through their break up 1970, and then, the solo albums of the 70's!
That was great, Ayla! I, too, grew up with the Beatles. My first recollection of hearing any song was the opening bass line of Come Together. I was probably 2 or 3. My mom played Beatles albums a lot in the early 70"s. I had purposely not listened to them for the past 10-15 years or so. A few weeks ago I listened to nearly every album more critically than in the past, and I was sobbing probably too many times. About 20% related to the memories, but 80%, the music. The complex melodies and interaction between the instruments, their voices/harmonies. As an amateur musician, I’m so envious and appreciative that we have recorded music to enjoy. They really were something special.
They had an influence from India, but they did not head to Indian until later when they went to the ashram and wrote most of the White Album. Donovan was with them. That’s where they learned the fingerpicking that influenced dear prudence and Julia and Blackbird. Dear Prudence was written by John for Mia Farrows sister.
I wont have this ringo slander. The dear prudence main drum part was done by Paul, but this 'amazing' drum part you are talking about involves the big fill near the end. This was never confirmed as Paul, Ringo by the end of the album had come back to recording, so it's very likely that he did that fill. You Can't Unhear This covered this on a video, the clip is cut into the song, making it much more likely to be ringo.
It’s interesting either way… but what impresses me most about the Beatles is their relationship with each other and the fact they didn’t let substance abuse ruin them. Sure they dabbled, but they really weren’t about the rock and roll lifestyle. They realized money is just material and they really searched for spirituality which they valued very highly
Great stuff from Ayla with very insightful analysis. Although the comment pertaining to Paul’s drumming on Back in the USSR being one of the best drum parts ever recorded by the Beatles? A comment like that would justify Ritchie leaving the band. He was a genius in terms of invention and unconventional yet musical drumming -maybe the best of all time. All My Loving, Ticket to Ride, Tomorrow Never Knows, Day in the Life, Strawberry Fields? I could go on and on. Ringo’s was also a human metronome. Paul’s drumming on USSR was very competent especially for a “bass player”. Other than that niggle I loved the video. Thank you.
Black music! You never talked about how black Americans created rock and roll. I know thats not what the video is about but you could have mentioned it.
It's interesting that you place Rubber Soul and Revolver in different periods since George Harrison himself once said that their songs could have been in the same album because they were written in parallel. But yeah, if experimentation is a key criterion, then Revolver feels more like the real beginning of that period.
Your quest for Beatles knowledge and analyzing their music sounds as bad as me. In other words like myself, your screwed up. Just kidding. I saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show and was fortunate enough to see them in live in Pittsburgh in 1964, it was crazy. To experience Beatlemania firsthand is hard to describe. Between 1964 and 66 the world was crazy about this band. As George stated "The whole world went crazy and used us as an excuse to do it when in reality we were the four most sane people in that chaos". My favorite early period song may be/John's "I'm A Loser", so, so Dylan influence on this one. Middle period I can't believe you said George's " If I Needed Someone". Such an underrated song with a very jangly Roger McGuinn Byrd's influenced Rickenbacker Fireglo 360 twelve string played by George. One hell of a song and George was so underrated as both a guitarist and songwriter. The other great one of his from "Rubber Soul" is "Think For Yourself". Paul's fuzz bass is so damn cool. I've loved this song since 65. My favorite middle period song is probably "Nowhere Man", love, love , love this one, a perfect performance. You've put me in a difficult place here as I've never stopped to think one favorite song. I mean, just from Rubber Soul" "Girl" "In My Life along with "Nowhere Man" and the two George ones. "Rubber Soul", or as John called it "The Pot Album" ICONIC ! on every level ! Where would you place the single "Paperback Writer"/"Rain"? It's right between "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver". "Rain" is easily the most underappreciated Beatles song by far. Such an important recording in pop music history. So many first time recording techniques on this one and the first LSD inspired Beatles song and probably the first ever in pop music history. I love this song, one of my Beatles favorites. I don't know if you buy the anniversary remixes but they did release "Revolver" last September and it sounds incredible. Included on the bonus disc is the remix if the single "Paperback Writer"/"Rain" and it sounds incredible". "Rain" is like WOW ! You and I think alike. LSD period, definitely "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" is the one but "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite" "A Day In The Life", "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "I Am The Walrus" are up there in my books but "Lucy" is the one "Strawberry Fields" and "Penny Lane" is still regarded as the greatest single in history. The final period and this is a little scary but "Dear Prudence" all day long. I couldn't believe you said that one. The perfect song but I do put Georges "Here Comes The Sun" right up too. What a freaking song, Perfect on every level and the #1 Beatles song on Spotify with over 700 million plays as of 2021. This was fun, you're like really, really cool. Happy Beatles Journey to you. Peace ! ❤❤
With all due respect... this video should be titled "how the Beatles influenced my personal musical journey"... this is no essential guide to the Beatles in general
John was the driver for the White Album, he set the tone for that album. The focus on individual rather than group songs, the aggression of the playing, the heaviness - see the Emerick book - and he has the most space on that album by far. John has said Paul didn't like that album. And it was John who arrives with no fewer than 15 songs at the Esher demo sessions. John also had more of Abbey Road than Paul.
Hard Days Night was the first album with no covers. It wasn't just the chord progressions, but how they harmonized as singers that stood the Beatles apart from their comtempories.
I love all of the Beatles albums. George wrote two of the best Beatles tunes, Something and Here Comes the Sun. Sadly, he got short shrift from Lennon and McCartney. George is also one of my top 10 guitarists of all time.
They were a band longer that 7 years. When Paul and George joined John’s band the Quarrymen they were a band. They added Ringo and the rest is history. The “fifth Beatle” was George Martin. Well done overview.
@@ricardo_miguel13 Not true, “on July 14, 1958-the day The Beatles actually did make "their first record." A cover of “That will be the Day” and "In Spite of all the Danger." Most every source credits this song to "Paul McCartney-George Harrison," which makes it the only "McCartney-Harrison" song ever recorded.
The Beatles and here I can feel fortunate to have been born and old enough to have heard their songs as they were released and having a 4 year older Sister she would introduce me to many other emerging bands of in the 60,s and 70,s and almost killed when I accidentally recorded over Cream Live she had recorded from the Radio on mum & dads Record Player that had a built in Radio and reel to reel tape recorder (those were the days) anyway in my defence she should have labeled it or just removed it, how was I too know what she had recorded but luck was on my side as I could run faster than her lol.
The mere ACT OF GOD/JESUS of putting together these Talented Lads, and Endowing them with such great abilities/songwriting/timing/vocals, advancing the recording industry as a whole, aided by George Martin that GOD engineered him Giving them the Chance. Well it is just phenomenal. I lived thru it Beatlemania it was just Well words can not describe it. By the way Abbey Road is actually their Group finally. But Let it be came out after it. Due to production and such. Things moved pretty fast with them.
@@BarbarraBay USA was really Really Depressed in late 63 from the kennedy asassination. Another one of those Great timing issues, engineered the right timing Feb. 9th on Sullivan show, and Wham up the Charts they went, they had like chart positions 1-4 or 5 and held unto them. It was a Phenomenal time to live thru.
I was born in England a year after Paul McCartney and probably felt the same way about the music of the late 40's and early 50's. It was mostly depressing music in black and white and everyone was desperate for something more exciting. Fortunately it happened and I could sense the gradual transition from the American influences towards the first record "Love Me Do". I knew immediately that this was what we were waiting for.. Many bands were heading in the same direction but, the difference was that the Beatles were already there and years ahead. My late wife saw them in East Ham, East London at the very beginning and she said that they were like nothing else she'd heard. She had the same sense when she first heard a demo tape played by a D.J. Charlie Gillet on his radio show.. Nobody had heard of the band at the time and she said "you must listen to this band, they're special, just like the Beatles.. It was Dire Straits and "Sultans of Swing". I live in hope that there's another Beatles or Mark Knopfler somewhere but, they're special talents, so it could be a long wait.
GIRL GENIUS....Beatles started out playing in a German strip club and later eventually became the masters of invisible counterpoint with a hint of jazz mostly do to Paul's warping of the 3rd , 7th , and also the masters of sensationalism .......I started out with a Beatles bass back in the 70's .HAD A LOT OF FUN!!!

I just listened again to the video The Great Lost McCartney Session of 1965 I think the title is "Woman" written under another name, but is obviously Paul McCartney sounding. These are tools to take with you for your own writing, they are not meant to help you sound like that.
Nice capsule of the Beatles' music. Interestingly, during the "folkie" middle 8 for "If I Needed Someone" John actually does a folkie or country-ish plucking style instead of the straightforward strumming. Also, they never played any songs from Revolver live for their final tour in the summer of 1966. The most recent songs in that tour setlist would be If I Needed Someone, Nowhere Man (both from Rubber Soul, Dec 1965) and Paperback Writer (May 1966)
Ayla ÿou are actually very good 👍 at playing songs 🎵 that were written by the best bañd from 1960's ! I loved the Beatles, I was 10 years old when I first seen them perform on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964

I've loved music as long as I remember. The Beatles is one of the first groups i remember that I´ve heard. At that time (1966) beatlemania raged in Europe! (I´m swesish) All the kids my age loved The Beatles and the hottest song was "She loves you". The song was played on the radio and everywhere all the time. For me it wasn't just a fad, I really loved it! I can't explain why. It made me happy, I kindá felt it swing! When my parents asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said "She loves you" (The single.) But the disc was sold out in the record store, so they recommend another disc. So I got the single: "Strawberry fields forever"/"Penny lane". It was my first big musical experience; I didn't know music could sound like that! It was pure magic! I´d sit on the floor with the family record player and play it over and over day after day, transported to another world - that of music! Bit by bit I then began to discover more and more of the group. Today I am sixty-three years old and have got their entire production on both vinyl and CD! I´m still discovering them ! "Strawberry fields forever"/"Penny lane" are still among my absolute favourit Beatles-tunes, and those songs in particular have probably meant more than most other songs in establishing the musical interests that have shaped my life to a great extent, which friends I had, how we spent our time , etc. Later I had some other similar experiences: "Electric ladyland", and a cassette tape with Pink floyd, Yes, and ELP belong there. The Hendrix -experience (so to speak...) was when I was ten, (1970) and the casette tape were when I was 13. I´m still a Beatles fan And stil I can´t explain why I´m fond of music... (I could serve some intellectualised ratiobalised nonsense that in one way would be more or less true, but I can´t explain what it´s realy alla about - not even to myself!)
I think my favorite era was the India one with my favorite being Srgt. Peppers but i think rubber soul shoul be in the same era with revolver, bc both are amazing albuns after they started experimenting and maturing their lyrics and sounds but before they stop performing live.
for me, the 4th era was definitely a decline. Apart from George's contributions & a few other songs. most of the lyrics are inane. Jimi changed music & the Beatles did not have the electronic arsenal to keep up with the change. It took Paul until Band On The Run to catch up with the times.
What's your favourite era of The Beatles music? If you had to pick a song that sums up the band's sound, which would you choose?
I Feel Fine!

John's influence of Donovan's technique became Dear Prudence, and also Julia as 2 examples. Paul's interpretation became Mother Nature's Son, and also Black Bird as 2 examples. Ayla, I am blown away by your Beatles knowledge. I was born in 1962, and was influenced by 4 older brothers playing Beatles albums 24/7 from birth through their break up 1970, and then, the solo albums of the 70's!
musora?
where did you go ???
I really love the GUITAREO name and logo
Another super analysis from a very talented and lovely lady.
@Musora_official If only it was you Ayla.
Why did they make only 1 video in the past 6 months?
They had an influence from India, but they did not head to Indian until later when they went to the ashram and wrote most of the White Album. Donovan was with them. That’s where they learned the fingerpicking that influenced dear prudence and Julia and Blackbird. Dear Prudence was written by John for Mia Farrows sister.
Where y’all at
This channel just disappeared?
Reminded me of discovering them as a teen
Thank you.
This is the last post from this channel. Want happened?
Black music! You never talked about how black Americans created rock and roll. I know thats not what the video is about but you could have mentioned it.
Oh wow, this is pure garbage. What you describe as era 1 should be era 2 or even 3. You totally miss what the Beatles were
❤❤ Ayla. I was from this era 60's baby. You make music so much fun. 😊
she's so heavy...🎶😉
It's interesting that you place Rubber Soul and Revolver in different periods since George Harrison himself once said that their songs could have been in the same album because they were written in parallel. But yeah, if experimentation is a key criterion, then Revolver feels more like the real beginning of that period.
Who is the host and where can we hear her music?? Great take on the Beatles!
Her band is Ludic.
Between
1964 and 66 the world was crazy about this band.
As George stated "The whole world went crazy and used us as an excuse to do it when in reality we were the four most sane people in that chaos".
My favorite early period song may be/John's
"I'm A Loser", so, so Dylan influence on this one.
Middle period I can't believe you said George's
" If I Needed Someone".
"Rubber Soul", or as John called it "The Pot Album"
ICONIC ! on every level !
Where would you place the single "Paperback Writer"/"Rain"? It's right between "Rubber Soul" and
"Revolver". Kite" "A Day In The Life", "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "I Am The Walrus" are up there in my books but "Lucy" is the one
"Strawberry Fields" and "Penny Lane" is still regarded as the greatest single in history.
The Beatles are the greatest gift the world has ever seen
This channel appears to be DOA. No new content in 10 months.
I never get tired listening to the beatles since 1989
What happened to guitareo
You seem nice, but to know The Beatles you would have to have lived tbru The Beatles era.
IMO a hard days night is their most underrated album. Love it.
i wll never forgive they dumped Pete Best since he wasnt good looking enough. That so disgusting I just cant listen to this band.
I want to marry you,I was in a band called The Beat'ulls, were on RUclips xxxxx❤
Best band to start with.
Wow, first time I hear you sing and you are a very good singer too!
Thank you! 😄
What a great presenter! 🤩
Well played 😉👍
I love all of the Beatles albums. George wrote two of the best Beatles tunes, Something and Here Comes the Sun. Sadly, he got short shrift from Lennon and McCartney. George is also one of my top 10 guitarists of all time.
Wow, Ayla, you are a terrific singer! 👏
They were a band longer that 7 years. When Paul and George joined John’s band the Quarrymen they were a band. They added Ringo and the rest is history. The “fifth Beatle” was George Martin. Well done overview.
True, maybe this research wasn’t very thorough.
they were a recording band for 7 years..anyway
@@ricardo_miguel13 Not true, “on July 14, 1958-the day The Beatles actually did make "their first record." A cover of “That will be the Day” and "In Spite of all the Danger." Most every source credits this song to "Paul McCartney-George Harrison," which makes it the only "McCartney-Harrison" song ever recorded.
@@GaryBook Yes true, but it was not released, so the discography of them began with the Love Me Do single in 1962
@@ricardo_miguel13 The Beatles recorded with Tony Sheridan in Hamburg in 1961 & 1962. It was Released in 1962 on the album, My Bonnie.
if i needed someone the pen ultimate track on rubber soul? ... i mean sure, but cmon in my life tho
When I was in the Third grade our teacher asked us to draw a picture of what we wanted to be when we grew up so I drew a picture of the Beatles!
“A day in the life” The topper most of the popper most!
Loved your video. Thanks for loving The Beatles.
Pretty cool that even AI people like the Beatles.
Why is Ayla on a different channel now??
Please do led zeppelin love your vids❤
Great video thanks
Lol - unlikely Jesus put together a band that wrote music encouraging people to engage in drugs & sexual promiscuity.
@@BarbarraBayHe works in mysterious ways
@@BarbarraBay USA was really Really Depressed in late 63 from the kennedy asassination. Another one of those Great timing issues, engineered the right timing Feb. 9th on Sullivan show, and Wham up the Charts they went, they had like chart positions 1-4 or 5 and held unto them. It was a Phenomenal time to live thru.
@@snicker576 EXACTLY.
@@ksharpe10 stop it. The Beatles encouraged non-Christian ways of behaving. The Devil created them.
why did this channel die?
They were the greatest band of all time, by far.
Early works...Please2me
I think you need to do your own thing🙂
I grew up in the 60,s it was FAB
Rip what happened
grandparents everywhere - I'm 73 , full strength jr high school beatlemania. My fave bit was when they passed the artsy ' Sgt. pepper ' and played guitar on the 'White Album. fave , of course - 'While my guitar.' thou Revolver was their best album. incl. ' rain ' try fingerpicking 'And Your bird'. what a dunce. my fave early tune, for no known reason , ' this boy.'
She must have had cool parents 😎.
Nice young lady.
I am 52 I have been playing for 3.5 years.
I'm doing well.
Ayla is the best online teacher. I've had so many light bulb moments while watching her lessons.
Great job! you know what? I'm trying to manage a band made by 5 girls three singers and two acoustic female guitar players, but I can't find a second female guitarist... Is more than a year that I'm lookin for but no answers. Even if I provide almost everything from the rehearsal room to the studio for recoding, the videocameras for a promo, a journalist and a photographer for the bio, an English teacher and an agency.... I'm afraid I have to quit. Maybe Beatles are not so important now 😞

The most recent songs in that tour setlist would be If I Needed Someone, Nowhere Man (both from Rubber Soul, Dec 1965) and Paperback Writer (May 1966)
What song plays behind when you talk about Revolver/ Sgt. Peppers/ MMT?
Ayla ÿou are actually very good 👍 at playing songs 🎵
that were written by the best
bañd from 1960's ! I loved the Beatles, I was 10 years old when I first seen them perform on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964
Absolutely love the Beatles whole catalog among my favorites are I'm looking Through You, Happiness is a Warm Gun, While my Guitar Gently Weeps, And Your Bird Can Sing and No Reply
Do The Who next!!
Hi, A Challenge for you! Can you teach us the solo in Springsteen's "Candy's Room?" Happy Holidays!
I've loved music as long as I remember.
The Beatles is one of the first groups i remember that I´ve heard. At that time (1966) beatlemania raged in Europe! (I´m swesish)
All the kids my age loved The Beatles and the hottest song was "She loves you".
The song was played on the radio and everywhere all the time.
For me it wasn't just a fad, I really loved it! I can't explain why. It made me happy, I kindá felt it swing!
When my parents asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said "She loves you" (The single.)
But the disc was sold out in the record store, so they recommend another disc.
I´m still a Beatles fan
And stil I can´t explain why I´m fond of music...
