You actually really shouldn't prep the sidewall of the tire.. The sidewall is where the stiffness is greatest and acts as a sort of shock absorber of sorts and if you soften the sidewall too much it will affect the handling of the kart and decrease the life span of your tires .. Lesson learned the hard way .. Just a little helpful tip

Wd40 opens the pores of the rubber and softens it at the same time if done right it will make the tires very very sticky under high heat if prepped before with a rag and brake cleaner its can shave seconds off a lap time

That was my old kart number! We ran asphalt so we never had to prep! Change those rear bearings out man!!
It not the bearings there brand new. Thats the chain and clutch you guys here as it spins

We used Diesel and kerosene on our tires back in the '80s. Running go cart. 👍👍🎗️.
