I think IA getting Razorbacks, Land Raiders, and Exorcists back with the cuatom ammunition where applicable from Daemonhunters would solve a lot of their AV/Transport problems better problems. Having Acolytes and Storm Troopers (theyd possibly need to rename/call Kasrkin because Didney/SturWurz) would also be amazing, the Chimera Storm Trooper combo was a blast back then. Even if they made it a Scions type squad for deepstriking I think that would fit the army really well
@@SeanHoltzman I don't care what they're called honestly but carapace armored soldiers with hell guns are something absolutely mandatory that are missing from the codex.
For the custodes: doing some quick math, you can run 9 of the forge world dreads (3 telemon, 3 galatus, and 3 achillus), 1 grav tank, and 18 prosecutors (1x10 and 2x4). That’s exactly 2k points.
@ that’s why I make my own detachments at this point. Don’t get me wrong. This detachment seems pretty cool but GW isn’t gonna be able to get ‘em all I guess
Silly Beard, the Callidus no longer has the reign of counfusion ability. and getting 4 4w characters for 580 points seems a bit much. The Crusher stamp.. I mean march of the Dreadnou... I mean Solar Spearhead, seems to be really fun, if not really expensive to collect.
I was just listening and haven’t read the pdf yet and thought he said “soulless spearhead” so I was a little confused as to why it wasn’t about Sisters of Silence or something.
06:25 - you hit the nail on the head there James. It would appear the tail is wagging the dog when it comes to rules direction - or at least a little more effort on GW behalf with terrain layout. The game heavily favours infantry at the moment because every Tournament board is laid out like a downtown city block.
I sincerely hope that this Custodes detachment is the foreshadowing of plastic release of the Forgeworld models. The fact that anything heavier than a 30k Contemptor Dreadnaught, or a Land Raider, is Forgeworld-locked for the army, is criminal. Running a full list of Dreadnaughts and Terminators, would just be so oppressive, and I love the idea of it.
This is the kind of detachment I would've been interested in if the custodes got more of a range update rather than just a character. But I wasn't paying foreword prices to play a detachment 😢
Oh damn, now if only GW would make the stodes walkers not forge world this would be relly effing cool, I love both the Telemon and Contemptors and this detachment could get me into collecting stodes. Giving the butchering that rules for forge world models have taken in 10th it feels really effing risky to drop the amount of cash needed for Telemons/Contemptors. Damn, suprised GW would bother with giving Agents a new detachment, I kinda even forgot that they would be included in the grotmas calendar xD . Some of the Agent detachment sounds kinda fun, but hey it is an entire detachment for 4 units in your army, feels pretty weak for a already weak army.
Okay, I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the draw, Hells I'm probably a spoon. However what is the point to Decoy Targets? You say it's more or less a redeploy, however as I read "set up again as close as possible to where that destroyed model was " , you still need to set up more or less where you removed it. What the heck is this spoon missing?
@@cptsahal5868 Ahhh! Okay now it makes sense, I was reading it as you were redeploying the destroyed unit, not moving the assassin to the destroyed units location . Why can't GW make the wording idiot proof!? Thanks for explaining it to this particular idiot 😁😂🤣
DANG IT!!! We got the same writer who wrote the custodes codex!!! I was hoping for the other team lol. The OC is only at starting strength, you take 1 wound your bonus is gone with no way to heal. You get bonuses when your models are dying....great....Most of these bonuses should just be added to walkers to try and fix them. Mounted units suck, so great they're in a bunch of the artifacts and strategems. Best part of this detachment is giving the Talisman to a blade champion for fun lol.
That Custodes detachment has to be such a feels bad for newer plastic only player after an ass codex… then get a detachment they almost aren’t allowed to play.
Don’t the core rules or rules commentary now say that CP penalizing abilities can only be used once per game? It’s hard to keep everything straight but that might be why they callidus doesn’t have a mention in the IA detachment rule.
The Agents one really is not very good. It's a detachment to support maybe four models already overpriced running in an Agent's army. While the Custodes one really wants to lean on Forge World models that are usually too expensive, if you can even get your hands on them, it is still much better than the Agent's detachment, which is definitely the worst one released so far.
Well, if any video is made public before christmas... I would love if it would be the Imperial Agents: Veiled Blade Elimination force. Seing one of your presenters either having wiped the floor with the opponent, or in spite of all detachment rules aimed at protecting them, having lost all those pricy lone operative characters by turn 3... that would make for some epic laughs 😅😹
Blows my mind that they're not prioritising factions that only have 1 Index detachment for this. Been waiting for over 2 years now for a different way to play Grey Knights and the Grotmas thing just seems to be a parade of extra things for people who have their codex.
I mean, it is free stuff and we definately just have to wait for it less than a month, which is both extremely unusual for GW. That being said, I'm also getting a bit giddy because none of my factions (Drukhari, Leagues Of Votann, T'au, CSM) have gotten their detachment yet :P. Tomorrow's both Knights though, they kinda need it and I'd argue TSons needed it, too.
@Zakading Mine mammaries are perfectly mellow, my dude. I'm just anxious about what's to come and I'm rather impatient. The Admech detachment was real nice, so I'll be getting some play out of that soon but Grey Knights are my main faction and they've gotten very samey for me this edition.
@@ElGrompho666 Yeah, Votann are in desperate need of some new releases. They've definitely got the backbone of the faction there, and the aesthetics are really cool but the range is super limited - obviously with them being a new faction. I'm not familiar enough with them to say what the faction is really lacking, but when I look at their range on the 40K list building app, there's really not that many datasheets.
And Custodes missed again. They over sell the bikes and then proceed to pass them over. I'd be more for this detachment if the dreads were not forge world. All I see is cash grab. Grrrr
"this is quite an interesting detachment" = Total trash nobody is going to be using this. It delivers the sort of buffs those units need but you dont want to be running a whole detachment focused around them to get it. I am sure people can make it work but it does not solve the issue the faction has.
Also its an incredible flex to dominate your local meta with Agents. Ran them in a local Crusade as a meme list and they vastly outperformed my expectations going 14-1. Mostly carried by the Deathwatch kill teams. Also the Agents have very fun crusade rules involving tracking down spies and saboteurs and such and you can play that out at the table interrogating every enemy character in your worst Batman voice.
To my golden brothers/sisters in the audience, which enhancement are we running on the Telemon? I'm torn between the 5+ FNP and the Adamantine Talisman, so I humbly request your thoughts on how to bring him to the table
5+FNP. Why? Well, the Telemon is already hard to take down. Give it more reason for your opponent to decide to ignore the Telemon all together because it's stupidly hard to take down.
I love custodes but the codex and thie detachment are just not fun which is sad. And if you want to Naha dreads better… make the data sheet better? Just seems a bit weird to me. There are some great elements to some of the detachments but the synergy just isn’t there. Orks and chaos codex are some of the best because of the flavour. The blood a gel one is fun too. But custodes??? Hmm
You do know there is a balance dataslate this month, if they do get buffed that alongside this already making dreads very intimidating is gonna be very cool
@ yeah I heard… if they make changes to data sheets that could be good. The detachment would then enhance the dreads instead of giving them some “abilities/profiles” they probably should already have. (E.g. they should probably be move 8” base… which helps their use in other detachments… then the plus 2 inch movement is pretty cool and a great reason to use the new detachment! Fingers crossed 😎
So no, the bad datasheets in Custodes wont be updated. Just stay worse than space marines or take a whole detachment to still be worse than a brutalis. Sweet
I'd like a detachment for Agents that lets you take more of the classic Inquisition units like stormtroopers and arcoflagellants.

I feel like I"m the only one considering the +1 dmg/attack/ect on the galatus. Gives it the potential to hit up into the T9 units more reliably.

*3d printed proxy modellllllssss*
The shieldbreaker rounds will already auto dev wound most things on a 4+ (or better) without the melta rounds...
The melta rounds are always on so it lets you save that shield breaker round for a important character or the like
"Coming thick and fast now" breh
Sounds like the imperial agent new detachment is tailor-made to be used for this channel's hero mode

make Dreadnoughts characters, so they gave them the old Iron Hands rules.

The assassin sets up where your destroyed infantry unit was.
