HI MARK the 1ST log was the best and made some nice boards the 2ND log wasn't bad it did have 2 SS in it that what made it look bad mark there was no other way 2 turn or saw it usually U can turn the crook 2 the top and saw it not that time it had a crook at both ends 😮😮 OMG 7 24 2O23

No, it is not the same thing over and over. It is different every log. I have been watching a mason named J Harvey, every rock is not the same. Maybe it is because I am so left brained, but I really enjoy every rock and every log.

Eight o’clock in the morning just back in for breakfast them are some nice pices of timber there’s to much good wood goes for firewood sutch a waste , next job put an axle back in a trailer we’ve just recovered ,, it’s not the cost of repairs it’s the cost of your negligence in not maintaining your equipment but it keeps us in work,, you guys have a nice day

My grandad worked a steam powered sawmill as a young man. I loved hearing his stories of those times in his life .I often wish I had listened more attentively. These videos remind me of those stories of his.

I love watching your videos. I ran a head rig Almost identical to this. I’m amazed you can’t do the simple math in your head so you don’t end up with those thin little pieces of perfect wood which takes away from the first board you Make on the log. The math is pretty simple to do in your head. I was actually doing it as you were sawing knowing where you needed to go before you did and you had the cheat sheet lol
I wish I knew where you guys were at when I was living in Pgh and was a First Sergeant at the 911th. I retired from the Port Authority in 94 and the AF in 2004. My brothers and I cut a lot of trees from our property in Baldwin and sure would have known of your mill! Great videos. Living in North Carolina for the past 18 years.

Boy, you should've seen the logs I saw today in the back of a truck for a tree service. They had to be over 40 inches across. If I stood in front of the logs with my arms outstretched, I would reach side to side.

Why do you “rest” the sled at the far end of the mill? Does it have to do with the hydraulic pressure?
I park the carriage there so I can check everything after sawing.
