This one is still my favorite out of all of them. I saw a video where someone put a windshield and saddle bags on one! For him it was the perfect touring bike. I prefer the naked look but to each their own.
Great question! I don't really have a favorite. Carb synching is about getting them close for easier starting and off-idle response. The CV carbs self-modulate to some extent at most throttle settings beyond full closed.
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 Thanks for the quick reply. The GS1100E is one bike I have yet to own. I'm hoping you acquire a '85/'86 V65 Sabre/Magna (post-oiling issues) soon.
@IDMacd529 I have owned two V-65 Magnas and one V-65 Sabre previously. We'll have to see what's on the horizon bike wise. I never know what will be next.
Amazed at how steady and consistent the vacuum gauges were. Every cylinder and carb needs to be spot on for that to happen. Well done!
Thanks!
Your GS1100E is such a beautiful bike, Jon. I really enjoy these videos, and the lovely countryside! Thanks for posting these.
You're welcome Blair!

The windshield and bags are functional for touring but ugly in my opinion. The 1982-1983 GS1100E was always my favorite styling-wise. Cheers!
Enjoyed the video Jon. Yep, always nice when you make a change and it works out for the better. RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Thanks Henry!
That is a great looking machine. Back in the day I knew a guy that bought one and I had always like that model ever since.
Right on!
Looks good.
Thanks!
So amazing how you still have bikes in the US at this level of conservation… europe is jealous of you 😅
We just don't ride them like the Europeans do. Fair weather riders for the most part.
Hey John- I own a lot of different manometers. Digital/non-digital. Do you have a favorite?

Buena Jhon..
Gracias!
thought the "modern" Bandit 1250S was quicker by about two secs (and uphill), but you're comparing the early 80's bikes....sorry.
The Bandit was quicker. And you're correct, it is the quickest "classic" I've tested so far at the new venue.
.love these videos, the expertise, the style, APLUS. ARE ANY OF YOUR BIKES FOR SALE?
@jamesfitzpatrick6650 Thanks James!
I sell some bikes from time to time. I sold the Bandit 1250 and CB900C this month.
Purring like a Kat!
Right on!
