Why did Toyota feel the need to rivet the side moldings on the LX suv's. What a pain! Very nice thorough job you did. The 2004 GX470 has side moldings that just pull off. No clips or rivets to mess with.
My land cruiser 100 OEM glass is still good but would like to seal it properly now that the top rubber seal is coming off. What is the solution if I need my rubber seals replaced?..
My glass guy told me the rubber molding along the top of the windshield is cosmetic since there is urethane sealing the glass underneath. If thats the piece you're talking about I think you can replace it for like $25. Part number 75531-60030

Ok, so I called my Toyota dealer, there are five moldings needed: Top 75531-60030, Left/Right short x 2 75543-60020, Passenger long 75533-60031 and Driver Long 75534-60021. And of course the rivets you mentioned 90269-04053. I own Airstreams, rivets are super easy to work with once you get the hang of them.
You are a true pro! That's the RIGHT way to do this not-so-simple job. There aren't many ways to kill a Land Cruiser or LX470, but rust is one of them... and if you brute force the old glass out, stuff WILL get scratched and you'll never see the result until the next time the windshield is out.
great job mate, how long dose doing it like this take? and how do you price a job like this, I'm in Australia I do them all the time do I eveything you do but not as much the old tape on the moulding everyone just glues them I'm happy to put the effort in but find it hard to price jobs if I do them perfectly and take more time. I prime eveything clean the body up save the clips but not as pedantic because of time.

I'm looking at buying a Lexus lx470 but it has rust around the windshield. I think I can even hear wind coming through when driving at 55mph. The two pillar moldings are really messed up it looks like they took sheet metal screws and screwed it in. Really bad hack job. I'm guessing there's pretty good rust all the way around the windshield. Do I stay clear of this vehicle or is it fixable?
I didn't see any damage to the glass. What was the reasoning for the replacement? Also, I'm in NC. You have any friends out here that do the same professional job as you?
On one hand comrade Alfredo save me a lot of headache removing cowl panels. On other hand @ ruclips.net/video/iLQSljJNj-s/видео.html "It sounds like it broke" - it is broken, the other one :). The left panel has 2 clips, one is 2 cm from the edge and the second one 18 cm from the edge
My rear view mirror detached from that black piece on the windshield. Do u have a video on how to reattach the rear view mirror to that black bracket piece (04lx470)? Mine won’t slide up and catch on both places and I may have made it worse trying to adjust it.
Great video! At 22:47 you talk about a spacer that you use to keep the glass from sinking in. What is that exactly? I've got a land cruiser that needs a windshield and I want to supply all the "special" parts to the shop. I gotta keep my baby safe:)
You should make a video of all glass installations doors roofs back, vents etc and sell the info to you know who so they can use it to train their employees
I didn’t understand when u say bottom later. The rubber molding has a hook type channel which I am not able to snap in the trim. Do I need to push the rubber molding channel inside the trim and then push up with some sort of tool like u r doing? I did that but it don’t catch anything!!!

I am not able to put the last rubber molding covering rivets. I am not able to channel it in place. Any suggestions?
The part of the rubber that has the lip goes toward the top, insert the top first then the bottom
