I just got a Dietz #80 hurricane blizzard lantern. It works so well, I plan on buying another one. It is burning clean even indoors. No odor with lamp oil. Will try 1-k next. According to laws of physics, this design seems like it would make a brighter flame because of the taller chimney and greater amount of airflow. But I do not have other designs to test against. Any thoughts out there? These are very good lanterns. I have had cheaper lanterns of different makes in the past that you could not use indoors. Too much pollution and odor. This blizzard version is doing exceptionally well indoors. Thank you for a great video.
The Blizzard, Air Pilot and Jupiter are their best lamps in my opinion. The Blizzard throws more light due it's taller globe. It's tough to beat for that reason. I only burn paraffin oil in my lanterns. I have used 1-k in my bigger heater, it burns clean, but there is a bit of an odor. I never smell anything with the Paraffin lamp oil.
Yes I have, they put out about 70 watts of light minimum. And burn very very hot. They go through the oil or kerosene much faster than simple lanterns, but hey, they're bright! Been using them since 1964. The price tag is a lot higher, but don't buy a cheap one. You get what you pay for sometimes.
You did a very nice video on the lanterns. Thanks so much for the really nice shout out, I appreciate it.
Thank you and you're welcome!

@@EightWheelsRollin I guessed right. Thanks!
Ever Had an Aladdin Lamp?...✌👍
No. I looked at one a month or so ago and thought I would buy it. It was missing the keeper on the top of the burner so I passed. Really cool lamps!
