so what do they do on the compressor side of the system? if the little turbo lights up fast and the bigger one isnt going yet wouldn't the smaller turbo push air back through the inlet wheel of the larger turbo?
The demonstration is showed wrongly. The Turbos turn wrong direction and they don't push air through the Turbine Wheel, they suck through it. Airflow direction is wrong too. Play the video reverse.
+Melis Legemaat KKK made Schwitzer turbo to licence, Borg Warner own both. Borg Warner make R2S turbo systems for VW and others. 2 stage turbocharging is an arrangement as old as turbocharging itself. VW have no claim to it.
nope it's not the same. u talk about volvo . different. volvo uses borg warner two stage regulated set up . one small hp turbo variablre geometries that spools very fast to produce torque and with the exhaust spool up the bigger low pressure turbo. it's more like a n/a feeling . the vw uses different turbos more like same size one vnt one conventional they both take exhaust pressure to spool up.in this configurations you will have torque at 1750 to 3.250 than everything hits a wall. with volvo set up it's more like a natural aspirated car that have the pik power at 4500 rpm instead of 3.750 like volksvagen. torque will be bigger on vw but short live.

A friends has just packed up...5 year old car and 35000 miles. Due to driven lightly the HP side operating arm has seized up.
This is Borg Warner, not VW technology.
+Paul Evans Hello .Vw technology . made by Borg Warner. for VW it was KKK

@@kenandavulcu9570 lol
265k . no one single problem
240.000km turbo gone🤕
if used correctly, it will last much longer..
not to mention the oil change interval..
