That more often than not actually ends up being more profitable, especially if you score intact fusion engines. That and they can't deduct your salvage for collateral damage.
You should go full salvage in most missions. You only need a couple mech parts and you already make more money than you would have otherwise from selling them. Even more true in this mod since you get engines all the time which sell for similar amounts.
I started playing this mod. Was doing a base defense mission with my lights and mediums when a Grasshopper an Marauder showed up. I had replaced the machine guns on a Locust with flamers. Turns out Marauders run hot and don't like being on fire.
Hey Tex! As a heads up, if you can find a Rocket Ammo Feed in a store, nab it right away! It lets you use rocket launcher tubes as MRM tubes with a slight ammo hit and jam chance for a drastically lower weight, which can let you run "MRMs" on lighter mechs effectively!
Just finished listening to the Magistratum Mundanus the other day: Great work on that, Tex! I hope you and the gang revisit it someday, it actually gave me a lot of insight to GM'ing.
The first couple of episodes were meh, but on the 3rd or 4th it started to take high RPM. It *so much* reminds of how my friends and I play anything :D Absolute blast.
Im playing my own BTA run at the moment. It's been a hell of a run. I got the holy grail of lucky pick ups. I managed to fight and salvage a Nightstar. At the time my heaviest hitter was a Merlin with and ER Large Laser, 3 ER Medium Lasers, SRM 6, SRM2, and 3 Machine Guns. It was a hell of a fight.

my own playthrough of 3062 (which started after episode 1 reminded me 3062 existed, thanks for that btw) of the Van Zandt "Special" Operations Group has gone "great" so far, on the first mission, my CO got one shot cored by an Urbie with a UAC/5 which has put him out of action for 88 days and severely damaged my best (at the time) mech.

One thing I've noticed about Battletech 2018 is that anything that increases the 'mech pool, whether it be mods or DLC, inevitably makes the game harder simply because it becomes that much harder to construct the machines you actually want to use.
I myself have been playing through BTA too. I've found once you start running around with 5 or 6 heavies you can do ALOT. cleaning up Clan system raids fun times. I'm going to watch this and paint now, thanks for being BPL
Definitely enjoying this play-through so far. And glad you were able to get that Hunchback in the last episode. Absolutely carried the unit through the missions in this episode.
BTA is such a treat. I hope you enjoy your time, and will at some point start to love the ability to sprint & shoot, and start meleeing mechs more :D for the building damage, if you damage less than the allowance that's a BIG bonus payout, you want to keep buildings intact (enemies shooting them doesn't matteR) if you can.
Counselor here. Mental shorthand starts pretty much since early childhood. But roguetech is another level deep. I played through the base game once, then I got BTA and it played in a way I could understand. Roguetechs 1st half green skull mission was a ride and a half, I've never really struggled in neither the base game nor BTA to keep the company going, as I did in rogue. It's definitely not for everyone even if you can run it, if you don't enjoy spending 5 hours of a playthrough in the easiest missions possible(this really depends on your starting gear btw I got really unlucky with my heaviest mech being 45 tons and kinda weak) then it might not be for you. If I were to put it in game jurno language, if BTA is the new game + for kids who got good grades in history classes, then roguetech is the dark souls of tabletop simulation wargames, and on a high difficulty start to boot.
