Thanks so much! A very small step on your video saved me another week of tearing out my hair as to why I couldn’t get my cards to have a black background. Great work!
Good video, very helpful. What really makes this theme shine is using grid cards within the vertical stacks to precisely locate things like lozenge buttons, gauges etc. I use 3 stacks on each page with grids and it look great on both desktop and my Samsung S10.
I've just discovered it not long time ago, but really enjoying it. Did check Discord server and looks like it's live community and has continuous development!
Are you also "Shatnerising" your speech when controlling the smart home?😁 If so, maybe she will respond with something else than waving the hand in the air and saying "Engage", but instead showing a particular finger and shouting "Divorce!" 😁 (I know I mix two different series captains😁)
@@bennylloyd-willner9667 OMG, is there a shatner filter for your phone or something that can change your voice cadence? Someday AI will get us there. Can only wait.
I mean dashboards are great to enter information or switch modes for uncommon situations. Like adding something to the shopping list or switching to party mode. :) But voice commands will likely replace the later one now - as there are custom keywords available "Computer!...." ;D
It all depends - but actually, no control should be best control - or to explain it futher, when home through sensors knows what it has to to and when. Both display and voice are unnecessary in Smart Home, except for feedback (smoke alarm, water leak, plants need water, rain starting and windows open etc). Everything should be automated.
@@BeardedTinkerwait, you get feedback if your plants need water? I just have a pump per plant installed :) Well, I got a “forced on”/“forced off”/“auto” mode for lighting for example, per room. So if I go to sleep, I switch to “forced off”, because the radar sensor would otherwise continue to keep the light on. I don't see a way to have this work with a sensor, as I may lay down onto the bed and want the lights to stay on.
Combine this with Rhasspy set to respond to the Computer wake word and you'll really feel like you're aboard the Enterprise, whichever one you preferred.
Hi BeardedTinker, just a question. I see Samsung store only allows for LCARS system for Samsung devices and did installed it on my tablet, however, I have been wanting to use it on my phone but seems impossible as the Apple Store does not have the LCARS so which is a bummer 😅 thank you for dedicating yourself to this
No, this is UI for Home Assistant. If you have it, it should be visible on both Android and iOS. Not sure if there are any generic skins for iPhone devices.
how do you add the navigation buttons/icons at the top of your screen? I'd like to be able to have a simple clean main dashboard with links to rooms, devices, sensors, and other. BTW, I disagree with one person's review of your LCARS dashboard. I think it's at least a 9 out of 10!
Top bar? If you add icon to each tab, it will hide name and instead show just icon. It makes a bit more cleaner view and also allows more tabs without scrolling. Thank you 😉
Not directly - I have this video on how to "hack" NSPanel Pro - ruclips.net/video/0kjGH9-XQk4/видео.html And than in Home Assistant just install LCARS Addon - on NSPanel you can select default theme or default view for device. That's how I did it.

Awesome! Glad it was helpful!!!!
Dude. I had no idea you put this together! Thanks for the coverage! (this is HA-LCARS author th3jesta/Moon Man)
Had so much fun with it that I had to :)
Thanks for the awesome component!
Sweet! Maybe this will get my Star Trek -loving wife to engage with the dashboard...
Keeping fingers crossed. My wife is still using me as voice to dashboard conversion tool.

@@BeardedTinker it’s particularly good if you use reactive/responsive dashboards.
I have wanted this for sooooo long. Thank you!

This looks like fun can't wait to try it. Another great video thanks
Thanks for watching Ian and hope you'll have fun like I did with this!
There is a huge HUGE market, for the first company releasing this type of modules (PI’s or similar) pre installed
Loving this, definitely getting implemented. Not sure if the wife is going to agree, but she's not an admin user so nothing she can do about it 🤣
I'm really not a dashboard person, but when I've seen it I had to do it :) Thanks for the comment!!!

my wife wont know where it's from but will criticize it on esthetics but that's to be expected anyway so it's a strong engage for me.

How did you create the sliders for the light intensity? I'm not a fan of the default "bulbs", they are hard to adjust.
I've used Mushroom card from HACS for that.
