I’m not sure about Fredericton but we had a mild winter last year in Saint John with lowest temperature only reach around -20 ish if I’m not mistaken but generally temp could go as low as -40 celcius.

saint john most days in the winter are like around +1 or +2 or maybe a bit below zero, it drops to like -15 in the night time
