If you watch closely, you can see Abuelita sort-of gesturing for Elena and Alex to follow her right after the doorbell rings and Penelope walks over to it. She looks back all of once as she goes to the door, so presumably they're there just long enough to see Max and then run off to their rooms to give them some privacy.

Idk how they feel about bringing Max back. The ending of the final episode of the third season made it seem like she was letting go of him too, and accepting that her happiness was in her achieving her dream.

Daniel Elizondo but Max wanted to be there for all the firsts a baby does etc. Ik he was willing to drop it for her but she didn’t wanna do that to him. Either way I’m happy he’s back and I’m curious to what they’ll do since they make each other so happy and makes Schneider happy 😂😂

The creators of the show said it'll be addressed later but basically he filled that desire by working with kids in Indonesia

The first 3 seasons are on Netflix. The show was canceled after that and it moved to POP-TV. Only half of the 4th season was broadcast before it was canceled again.
