Damn it's a great pen, wish the price wasn't so high
Nice!
We need more love for mechanical pencils
Why you hate on Tactile.. seriously amazing writing instrument. This one, though, is absolutely beautiful. 300 is serious money, placing it under the grail category. Thank you for good, honest content. Weird to see the pen in the left hand but I’ll make do.
If you feel like embracing the refill sticking out super far - check out a Ti2 Techliner (or boltliner). It's designed for drafting, so you can really see where you're drawing lines, etc.
I have one haha
quick question, is that a light blue grimsmo saga or normal royal blue
Hey Kev I’m pumped I ordered the growler!!!!! 😊
Awesome!
Agree with you on Tactile. Mine is sitting unused. Love my Ti2 Design boltliner though!
Just ordered a super shorty lastnight
Machine Era classic for those who dont want to spend a whole lot. Doesnt have fidget factor, but it is very affordable, and takes Pilot G2 refills, plus some others.
Looks pretty cool too if you ask me. Plus its USA made...
Mine is in Cu and it's my favorite.
Awesome!
Why do you not like g2 refills..what’s the difference in refills..I have a monte blanc, it was a gift tho..never got into pens..it’s hard to since I’d rather put that $ in a knife
Im left handed so gel refills smear al over my hand
I love the saga as well
When it comes to pens I have a few and all are affordable. I carry a zebra f701 daily. I have 2 fisher bullet space pens and a refyne ep1 that I rotate carrying on the weekend. Great video 👍
Refyne is money
I have a Staedler I've had since college that's still a favorite. Also a cross that is small and pulls open, I have a few pens that are good but never fell off the deep end on them because I do a lot digital and can't justify high dollar that I could spend elsewhere.
My go-to pen is the good old Lamy Safari roller ball. I've got a bunch of them.
The TT full size bolt action is also excellent and I have a few of those with Lamy roller ball refills in them. I keep Fisher space pens all over the place (wallet, bags, slips) just because they're durable and reliable, although that ink sucks. I also have a CW&T Type A that I like a lot. It's a little stabby to carry so it lives on my desk which is a shame. Maybe will get a Type B instead. Those use Hi-Tech C cartridges, which are awesome.
I collect fountain pens (relatively affordable, my most expensive is like $450) and I met a guy who I’ve become relatively close with. He spent $7,000 on a Namiki Emperor Rakucho. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but goddamn! Lol I got to hold it once…I was so scared of dropping it. 🤣
Yikes
The cartridge sticking too far in or out bugs me too.
The pen looks fairly slim diameter. Don’t really car for the larger pens.
Still using that brass BigIdea i got from you and not changing that anytime soon 😉
Awesome!
@@LeftyEDC I do dig this favorite of yours, though. Looks exactly like something you'd be hooked onto, fidgety 100%. If only the bolt cap could be a spinner, eh? Maybe an idea for a Divo pen?
@@theMeshtar yea thought about that but a satisfying clicker is more what im going for on a Divo pen.
@@LeftyEDC ah, so there is a pen in the works? Awesome.
@@theMeshtar haven’t gotten that far 😂. But i have an idea and its on the list of designs.
Saga is fantastic. It does pen things on the paper and is a super flex. Got one for myself and one for my wife. No need for more pens... Except for my ugly tacray that I carry on the motorcycle. Oh! And the the O-Pen Pro! Most expensive cat toy ever! That is the extent of my pens (unless you count the Big i Design I lost while out on the bike.
OK. I lied. I have the Rike Alien pen too. It is out of this world!! (see what I did there?) COOOOOOOOOOOL! 👽
So no pens but 6 pens. Kinda like me 😂
I havent broke it out, prolly wont lmao. but good stuff bro
As cool as these are... It's still just a ballpoint pen. I'm good with spending money on fountain pens, but it's tough to justify spending almost 400$ on a ballpoint pen.
Why is it different?
@@LeftyEDC Have you used fountain pens? First thing for me is that fountain pens are far more comfortable to use. Even a good inexpensive fountain pen nib will be far smoother and require no pressure. You can lean the pen over at a very steep angle which you can't do with ballpoint pens. It's much more relaxed and you can see what you're writing better too. Depending upon your nib you can use pressure to make your line wider for some "flare" or just to make something bolder without having to scribble over it a bunch of times.
There are many options for nib sizes from normal EF, F, M, B to specialty nibs and flexible nibs. Steel, gold, or titanium nibs offer different feels and writing characteristics.
Then there are the thousands of inks from basic colors to all sorts of shimmering multi toned inks. You just refill the ink from a bottle or replace a premade ink cartridge.
All that on top of the pen bodies themselves ranging from basic plastic to wood to colorful swirly resins to Titanium and everything else you can imagine.
The downsides are there are only a few fountain pens that don't have a cap and you're using water based liquid inks that sometimes "feather" or spread out as they dry on cheap porous papers. Usually it's fine, you just use a finer/smaller nib on those papers. Depending upon how "wet" your pens nib is you may need to wait a couple seconds for the ink to dry before touching it. For every day stuff using a Fine or extra fine nib won't have any issues. (asian nibs tend to be finer than western nibs of the same size a Japanese F will write like a western EF).
I used a fountain pen in Afghanistan as a contractor on plain printer paper for a few years.
@@squirts1 i get why u like them over ballpoint but i don’t see why the price is an issue. Its a quality made product.
@@LeftyEDC To me... buying a $400 ballpoint pen is like buying a $400 titanium knife with 7CR or some other cheap low performance steel. The market/community/you would not buy it.
Don’t do it Kev, don’t send me down another edc rabbit hole!
Uh oh
