Great review. Love the explanation of benefits -- well done! I use spinning exclusively (I'm old and failed at learning baitcasting), so am excited to try these sinking braids!
I’m definitely gonna switch a couple of my setups over to the Almight after watching this video. How would you compare almight to d-braid ?? Thank you for sharing your knowledge Travis this was another very interesting video. Have a great rest of your week tight lines !!!
I bought the 7LB almight, it’s super thin, like thread. If you’re buying, go with the next size up. Almight 7LB is the actual rating, it does break at 7LB. It is nothing like power pro; 5LB power pro doesn’t even break at 10LB of weight.
The almighty is definitely way way thinner and a lot slicker so keep that in mind ! There are definitely a lot of techniques this will really pair well with !
I really like the almight, I switched all my finesse stuff over. I found when using 13lb almight with a 10lb leader, I was breaking off at the knot all the time. I've switched it up to only use an 8lb leader and under with the 13lb and for my 10lb leader setups I'm using the 16.5lb. That's consistent with what you are saying. Gotta really upsize the almight. A lot of guys were saying use 11lb in place of 10 but I think you have to go up more like you said. The 16.5lb is still very very thin. I tried the x8 on my heavier rod using the 20lb and it's very rope-y. I thought it would be like the almight so I went heavier but it casts pretty short compared to the 15lb j braid I was using before. I'm super happy using 13lb almight to 6-8lb fluoro and 16.5lb almight with 10lb fluoro. As long as you've got that dialed in this line is a game changer.
@@JanoyCresva if that was the case I’d be telling you to buy the sunline BMS 🤣I really love this stuff 85% of my spinning is done with the Almight and unfortunately some of the sizes are out and most of the Xbraid is out 🤷♂️ tight lines !
@@Tacklebrosfishing yeah I think braid to leader is superior for a lot of bigger bait fishing, especially at distance. Fishing hudds at the end of long casts really requires that sensitivity and lack of strech to set a hook. My biggest issue was always that baits would nose up more when fishing them deep so I would use flouro in that case. Having the line convave\arch downwards helps keep the bait swim straight as the line directly infront of it is pulling forward instead of up which is the issue with mono/braid.
What’s confusing is why have the hi vis color if it sinks? The controversy of fish seeing line is debatable so if you want sinking braid why isn’t it available in moss green? It sinks anyway so you really can’t see it so, to me, moss green makes more sense.
I'm sorry but that almight is garbage. I can pull the 13.5 lb apart with my hands, in no world can you do that with any braid without cutting your hands all to pieces. I have 8 lb Jbraid and I promise you're not pulling it apart with your hands. Almight has an absurdly low break strength. I've had 3 other locals who drank the koolaid say the same about the break strength so I know it wasn't just me.
That sucks man , I haven’t had any issues like that myself but sometime your right it’s best to stick with what you know and that Jbraid is money! One of the best braids for tying on leaders I’ve ever used.
Ya same here. I have had some issues with the 0.6 and 0.8 pe rated Almight. I use the FG knot and have had lots of issues with breakoffs at the connection knot. I never had this issue when using YGK x braid x8 upgrade (JDM stuff). With that being said, the almight in pe 1.0 and 1.2 have been great - no issues with breakage. One other thing to note is that the Almight is somewhat noisy going thru NRX recoil guides. Not a fan of this, might try that new x braid sinking ss112 to see if it’s more slick with less guide noise.
Just recently got into sinking braid (I guess after almight, but before X Braid US release). Came in throught the ultra light trout path. Pretty sure this is superior to Almight but really expensive so I buy direct from Japan distributors. varivas super trout advance double cross pe x8 Check out the 8 (11lbs) for BFS. That's what I use it for.
I’m so excited to try this. I’ve been wanting sinking braid for a long time!
Definitely some really cool benefits to it !

Definifely a fan of almight! The diameter and ability to cast light lures is great!
For sure gonna be a game changer that I gotta get in on , I hear you on those knots though I gotta switch it up from albright
@@Justin_Mooney11 yeah I tied Albright for a Long time and since I’ve switched over the issues at the knot are gone 🙅

Don't forget to hawk tuah 💦 the line! 😂
Yes sir
Will the P5s be on sale for black friday?
I doubt it Megabass rarely lets anything go on sale. One can dream 💭 though 😂😂 !!!

Hows the 80lb? For throwing bigger glides.
Unfortunately only available up to 30lb at the moment

8lbs suffix 832 has the same diameter as pe1.2 (most jdm brands I've checked.) 0.18 mm I believe.
@@d.friessoundandvideo2943 I haven’t played much with suffix but heard good stuff about the 832 👊
Almight loses its color fast. How often do you change it?
but that line is not sinking. It still on top of the water.

Same issue along with lots of stretch. Not the same as the old Defier

Sinking braid has NO place on the river as the current has TOO much negative influence on presentation, FAFO!
