  • Currently, the only potentially curative treatment for pancreatic cancer is surgery. However, pancreatic tumours are only considered operable/resectable when the malignancy is detected in its early stages, before metastasis. Given the vague and late-presenting symptoms of pancreatic cancer, early diagnosis is rare, reducing the accessibility to curative treatment. Neoadjuvant therapy approaches aim to decrease tumour burden and grant more patients the option to undergo potentially-curative surgery. This session will educate participants on current practices in neoadjuvant therapy as well as ongoing research, which aims to increase access to curative surgical treatment and improve outcomes for later-diagnosed patients.
