For multi-element weapons, it sure does look like the 'increase potency for elemental type x" upgrades also increase all the other element types too. I think the logic is "if the weapon has this element type, it gets the upgrade" and it affects every part of the weapon, not just the one listed element type.
+1: as evidenced by the weapon highlighting when you hover an upgrade, upgrades apply to _weapons_ that have the given tag. If the weapon then does a lot of other stuff, it's better. Since potency, as a stat, applies to all status effects. there you go.
In the original DRG game, the 2 dreadnought event also had the healing mechanism. It was coded so that it had to trigger a minimum of 1 time, and a maximum of 3 times - regardless of how different their health bars are. Possibly similar implementation into this game.
There's a single way around the healing phase in DRG proper, by stacking embedded detonator rounds (typically by the zhukov). Makes for great fun and also works against Korloks (which would be cool to see in this game!)
I feel like the other overclock that shoots all 4 elements on the boltshark might have been better? Seems like it would've been a similar number of bolts (the last shot burst fires 18), but the other one would've been more focused and also come with a fire rate bonus.
the other overclock decreases fire-rate and the way it works is that it shoots 3 overclock shots at max, so it is not worth it to do 4 elements. pick only one.

It's the amount of lasting damage of the weapon effects (acid, fire, electricity). When the weapon hits the enemy, there is an instant damage (Damage) and there are like 5-10 seconds of bugs still receiving the damage from your effects like being electrocuted or burning (Potency) P.S. sorry for crooked and clunky explanation, I'm not a native English speaker 😔🗿

Those affixes give +damage to the element and blanket potency. The potency is what increases the damage as potency affects all elements

I want to do this build but try the all bolts fired at once that sounds crazy if you have really fast fire rate and reload
