@@samburkes7552 i'm sorry for you ,but we all know that the original guitars made years back had a better sound, like the amplifiers; however even today's model, Rickenbacker 12string is the guitar that i like at most. Greetings from Italy, Patrick

The way he plays it at the end is correct. No one ever gets it right because it's not easy to hear. Slow the record down and you'll hear it. George even plays it on the BBC live recording just as this guy plays it at the very end.
the buzz is there .. but it's worth getting past it to watch & listen .. there's a million 'lessons' on RUclips about 'how to' with this .. Funny to find what is maybe the best version of 'it' from Brazil & with a buzz. Drop Pauls bass note & the slamming keyboards onto it & snap... Nice work Sir.
The guy is literally the best authority in Beatles/George Harrison music ever. George Harrison in 1987 actually heard a tape of Marcus playing and thought it was himself. Sadly he past away a few years ago.

If you’re playing in a band and want to approximate the opening chord have the bass play a D, one guitar play an open D chord and other play that Fadd9. Sounds damn close to the record.
One question: the chat your friend had with Harrison concerning the opening chord, the fact that Harrison said F over G does not define the voicing of the chord, correct? I also believe the closing riff is played a little different, as you suggest (on 4 pairs of strings instead of 3) The opening G is played on the E unison strings (first pair, as you're doing it) and then the F on the D strings. That way we hear that suspension ringing longer and when the F is played on the D strings we hear the octave, which seems to be present on the recording. Now, was this corroborated by Harrison or just the quality of the chord itself?
Without hearing the piano in the intro, it will never sound completely right to the ear. The piano is HUGE in the intro chord. The piano is NOT in the final chord of the song, which is why that chord sounds different. It's great that he points out the correct way to play the closing riff (on 4 strings).
Years ago, figured this out by ear, even the opening chord..All that heard/ grooved on it said it was correct..especially the ending repeated warbling, arpeggiating Fadd9, Freg, repeat...Sounds great on a Rick 12-string, only!!
Excelente. Obrigado. ;-D

At 1;37 George played an "Awkward" pattern. I first list the string, then the fretted position as follows: /4th@3rd / 3rd@2nd / 2nd@1st / 1st@3rd / 4th@3rd / 3rd@2nd / 4th@3rd / 1st open/ repeat to fade out. It's 'awkward' at first, but 'FUN' at the last! Enjoy Gb bg
The major difference is the 6th note, played on the 3rd string, second fret. Listen REAL close, and you will hear it. As I wrote, each note played is between each forward slash, and first calls out the string the note is played on, and then the fretted position. I can't post a TAB for you, so this is the best I can provide. Gb bg
The 6th note of the riff is a "C"...clear as day...have no idea what you are talking about. They way you describe it would then hit "A" on the G string twice in a row. If you want to hear him play it slowly listen here....www.dropbox.com/s/6dlhd88zrpix91z/HDN%20END%20RIFF.mp3?dl=0

Shirley, not correct. Harrison played Brooklyn NY-Made Gretsch 6-string guitars, and Santa Ana, Cal-Made Rickenbacker 12's. Johns little Rick 325 3/4-scale was also Cal-made. Do some self-investigating. Also, Paul's Hofner basses were German-made. The Gibsons they played were mfd. in Kalamazoo, Michigan!!
McCartney never played a Vox bass!! Vox amps, yes, but never Vox basses!.. He played Hofners and Rickenbacker basses..later in Wings, he played a very heavy Wal 5-string..
